Can Anybody Help Just Had Whole Engine In My 300 Totally Rebuilt Engine And Gearbox Now Back In Car, But Now Garage Says Cant Get It Started. Engine Turning But No Spark. Any Ideas Please, Cars Been Off Road 5 Months Getting Sorted.

Without taking off both wheel arch linings, the radiator expansion tank is found on the passenger side wing?? correct?? Forgot to mention on a 1992 2+2 Jap import.

Hi, It's a long shot but Im looking for an End Stage Driver/Transistor Pack which I believe is located at the left hand bank/front of the engine bay, as mine has had it. As well as this I am after the multi-plugs either side of this part which are part of the wiring loom. I need about 6-8inches of the wire and plugs. If anyone has any of these parts spare or if anyone is breaking a 300 I would really appreciate if you could let me know. Cheers guys, Paul.

Hi my zed has nicely started blowing white/blue smoke out of both the exhausts, which is worrying to say the least. now ive heard all the horror stories about head gaskets and stuff, but i dont think this is water or condensation, no sludge in the oil, or pressure in the system anywhere and also dont think im loosing any water. one thing i have noticed is that it does it immediatley after starting within a few seconds, so i have an idea to find out if its hg for sure or not. if i drain all the water system, and from cold, then start her up and it doesnt smoke, that would point to head gasket? if it continues to smoke, that would point to something lik…

haveing recently returned from the poor part of america (canada) I noticed that all the fuel out there is below 90 octane (even the preium stuff is like 91)... so when we go crazy insiting on 99/ron100 type optimax/tesco stuff do we really need to? Do they run less boost on the zeds out there? I understand higher boost requires more octance petrol to avoid detting if possible as a safe guard.. but do we really need extra octane?

just incase anyone is feeling down with the winter problems of driving a zed... finally a chick at work pointed out how nice my car looks and sounds.. is this a victory for zed owners..(as in finally it turns a girls head not just guys...lol) made me feel better in the festive season anyways...

yet another problem... :( The car dumped some water on Saturday, it seemed to be coming from the back of the engine or the bulkhead. The heater wasn't working well either so I think its the hoses that are at the back of the engine for the matrix (theres no water in the footwells so it doesn't appear to be the matrix itself). Does anyone know of an online guide anywhere to replacing these hoses and also what the part numbers are for them? Thanks.

Is it true that these engines have some kind of sheer pin that connects both banks of 3 cylinders together? The idea being if a piston seizes on one side it still allows you to drive on the good bank of cylinders through the sheer pin snapping? A guy who works on jet engines told me this. It kinda makes sense but is it really true???

Can anyone give some advice,there are some units that will connect my I-Pod to the head unit. However some only play, some work with the head unit remote, some don't charge. I'm looking for one that connects directly to the unit not via the radio, one that also charges and if possible one that works with the head unit remote???????

Just brought a nardi steering wheel with boss .Can i stick this on not botherd about cruise as i have removed it anyway .But will the hicas light be on and will the hicas not work anymore as this boss has not got the hicas elimanator thing on it .Is this a mot faluire to have the hicas light on thanks taff.

Basically this is a grovelling request for anyone with conzult to help me diagnose the complete lack of life in my engine bay! Quite sure its gonna be a vacume line/split hose so not too fussed. But my engine is very lumpy throughout the intire Rev range. Any ideas I should be checking other than hoses? Also the connector to the TPS is knackered. Can you buy a new plug on its own for the TPS??? Oh and speedo/power steering is erratic (only works over 40mph) and 99% sure this will be speed sensor. Sure I know the answers to these questions but giving my history with help and advice I really should ask you lot first!!! :rofl: :D

Ok where do i start...driving to work tonight quite happily roaming through the gears then not a lot of power...followed by no power...followed by the engine running in way reminiscant of a knackered tractor. Now the thing will hardly run at all and sounds like it's on 2 cylinders struggling (with my foot planted on the floor) at 200rpm. Please help....as i understand that a lot of you guys use your zeds as second cars but mine is a daily driver and without it i'm totally fooked. I just don't know what the hell is wrong with it...its either the cam belt or the ptu, but i don't know how the egine runs when the ptu is dead?? I'm gettin rapdily to the end…

right then finnaly got round to stripping down my old tt engine to find out why it was burning oil!! engine was removed cause the main bearings had gone and they had spun round :o so took the heads off 2nite and all i could find was that the oil controll rings on the pistons were seized i:e not moving freeley!! so what could cause this to happen then?? what can i do with my bearings if they have spun does the block need regrinding to take new oversize bearings and also the crank as well?? :confused:

Hi, got some nice side skirts to fit during the cold winter months but just wandering what the best way to do this is. They come with indent to rivet or screw into the sills but that means drilling holes through the sill, which I didn't think was very goog idea. My question is will they hold ok with just bonding glue or do they really need riveting, what has everyone else done? Pics will follow when the kit is all on and sprayed (prob June!). :hyper:

ok I'v removed rad and pipes as far back as poss, thanks to your replies to Stellaz, ya5een :bow: firstly my question is, is the idler highlighted green in pic 1 the same one as in pic2 with red arrow?? If so, can i remove this? as it looks like it add some tension to the timing belt. Please advize. finally, it was mentioned that to remove the bolt at the rear of the compressor a flexi-socket is needed. WTF is a flexi-socket?? :rofl: I have never heard of such a thing. cheers in advance Mike
