General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi guys, im looking to buy a chip off a forum member for my 300. The chap in question has been most helpfull but talk of boost jets and mig tips have thrown me, can anyone shed some light on this? I know I must do this JET MOD but where do they go and whats with the mig tip bit? Please advise :bow: Jase

Just De-catted my J spec TT today and removed the heat and Lambda sensors as they don't fit the new pipes...B4 I did this the car was running rich and my Air/Fuel gauges were all over the place most of the time. Now the guages are stable and the the Air/Fuel ratios are showing as Optimal ?? Is this meant to happen and if so why plz ? Thanks.

i put some DIESEL in the zed at the weekend :headvswal , about 13 litres to a full tank. the plan is to run the tank to nearly empty, then fill up with optimax and some injector cleaner. im wanting to know the best injector cleaner(petrol additive) to put in when i refill the tank. cheers si

Am looking for someone to do stainless steel slam panel and matching headlight covers and brake/clutch booster hoses. Just did the heater matrix, and I noticed that the temp needle now slowly drops to zero, then back up to normal, then back down. Its totally random, and not related to engine speed, boost etc. It never reads higher than 'normal'. What is causing this...?? :(

im really gettin annoyed my dream car that i have finally got keeps breaking down its a 300zx 94 non turbo i had overheatin probs i replaced the rad yesterturday now its havin probs startin and the revs dropped when drivin home is this a serious problem :headvswal :mad:

Since having to fit neww 555's and subsequent John DIxon chip I am getting serious misfires when booting it. As this I dont tend to do it that much I havennt noticed it, but last night I thought I would have a laugh in the wet. No Laugh, It was so bad my mate who was following me told me shit loads of flames where comming out the back and my 0-60 was about 10 seconds. I thought the engine was gona pop through the bonnet Anyone out there can help?

Evening everyone, when I want to put my car into gear (NA automatic) I should have to put my foot on the brake press the button on the shifter in and move the stick. Now when I put my foot on the brake I cant always get the button to press in, secondly, that doesnt cause a problem as I can move the stick without pressing the button in anyway, I am sure its not meant to be like that and I am now thinking what if I am driving along and someone in the passenger seat leans across and knocks it into neutral or worse reverse?? I guess there is a switch by the brake pedal thats not working re the button not going in but what about being able to move it anyway? am I going mad did…

is there a lenght diff for the lwb hatch vs swb? I think yes but want more advise!

Anyone got any pics or input into fitting the lower half (Vielside) rear bumper, I got one recently and the main thing I noticed was that my UK car has the space for a long numberplate whereas the bumper section I have doesnt, its for a square numberplate. Cheers John Crisp

Can anyone tell me what the side effects of fitting a delimiter and speedo converter to my jap import tt auto. Will it adversely affect performance due to the speed information being different and affecting gear selection? Any other info is greatley appreciated. Anyone know if andyP's chips change the kph to mph on these or not? Thanks

I will be taking my engine out in a few weeks to replace the turbos .Been told why it is out to do these jobs as well :- det sensor harness,Egr value bypass and new pcv valves .Can you think of any more jobs ,money will be tight . Best place to get hold of the det sensor harness and pvc valves

Hello, got a few problems that have started to appear. When i start my car from cold i get a missfire ranging from 2000 - 3500 rpm which goes away when its warm, i dont know if its related but it also idles high 2000 rpm when cold and 1400 rpm when warm? My next problem is my viscous fan which has a mind of its own. When im driving all i can hear is my fan spinning the move i rev it the louder it gets. Is it expensive for a replacement? Has anyone got any ideas?? Thanks Jamie

Hi How hard / time consuming is it to replace the strips under the windows on each side of the car (both door and rear quarter)? Mine are badly discoloured and are almost grey :headvswal They look to me like they just need prying out, but I maybye wrong. I think I can get some replacments for the door strips from the Z centre, but does anyone know where to get the rear strips from :confused: Any Help and advice gratfully recived :bow:

I've found that my balance pipe is full of oil. As I already told you my car is smking a lot. What is my problem? PCV valve? Turbos?

hi i was wondering if any1 could shed some light on this.... ive been offered a set of front 6 pot ap callipers and rotors that have come off a crashed tvr race car they are in perfect working order and i was told that they will go on any car as long as you have the right brackets. can any1 tell me if this is correct all callipers are the same just the fittings are different?

where can i get the chrome for the inside . i have seen it where it covers evrywhere it looks well good.
