Can anyone tell me what the consequences are of having the speedo reading too slow apart from the obvious observational distortion i.e. the driver thinks he is going slower than he is !! I take it that the ABS will not be affected if all wheels are oversized by the same amount ??

To complete the car for its MOT I need the following: 2 rear wheel bearings 2 brake lines (the solid ones that go from the front calipers to the flexible hoses) They're the tricky ones and I'm guessing they're likely to be Nissan main dealer only. However, I also need a horn if anyone's got a second hand one. Cheers Mike

What turbos are people generally running on here? My car smokes sometimes on idle and I have put it down to the turbo seals. The engine has been rebuilt just before I bought it but the turbos hadnt been touched and it was recomended that they should be reconditioned. Any info on, where and how much it would be to get them recon'd; or what good replacements would be, would be greatly appreciated. Would people recomend recon'd or new turbo's? Cheers for any help

Hi :nana2: I am in Darlington, Co. Durham. My Zed (TT J-Spec Auto) has been sat in my garage for quite a number of weeks. I have began work on restoring her and adding a few mod cons. However, time has slipped away from me and I am looking for some help ;) I am hoping there is a knowlegable north-east owener who can finish some light engine work for me. I require someone to finish removing my plenum for me (its about half done :x: ). If it is left with me for a few days I can polish it up and would then require it replacing. I would also like my PCV valves replacing and any other work that is recomended to be done whilst the plenum is off. As I …

My grey Z is difficult to start when hot, i keep having to pump the throttle to get it going, and then it idles at 2000 for a while, and i get a lovely petrol smell - From what I can figure its the Ptu, i can put the one from my red Z in to check, but where is it??? (unless its cos of the remapped AndyP ecu that was fitted when i bought the car is it?)

on my rear passenger side :( every time i hit a bump in the road - noise goes through me - twice as bad if theres a passenger in. Its got the strosek wide arch kit with 265/40/18 on spacers to fill it out. Drivers side is fine, but Martin said prob has always been there. Its also running spax (i think) shocks all round. Do I need to adjust the passenger side shock do you think or do I need to get arch rolled (if that can be done to these?) Cheers

Checked my o2 sensor readings both sides on the Datascan. On idle they both sit just under 30, and at 2000rpm they both swing between 30 and 65. Is this a normal readout? Thanks.

Since i got my ZX last october it never felt totaly firm on the road beyond 70mph. And since i gave it a good ragging at speed 2 weeks ago the wobblyness is worse now. At around 30mph its most pronounced where the steering wheel pulls a bit either way in a rythmn. Is this suspension tracking or maybe a duff HICAS unit at the rear?

considering upgrading the cams along with other bits and pieces - now from my limited knowledge, do upgraded cams really cause lumpy idle? have seen jwt and tomei advertised - are there any major differences or things to be wary of? i understand that the valve springs normally have to be uprated, and was looking at solid lifters - the tomei website also talk about using shims for the lifters?? sorry for all the questions - any experience/advice appreciated! ta mowgs

Hi Guys n Gals, Anyone know what could be making a kind od grating noise when I pull off from standstill. It only happens when pulling away, it's worse when there is two people on the car or if you pull off in second, sounds like a metal rubbing noise, seems to be coming from clutch/ gearbox / propshaft area. I was thinking prop bearing or clutch related???? Car is a UK manual with 160K on the clock. Thanks in advance for any ideas........

besides the standard brakes being absolulty pants in my opinion mine squeek like hell sometimes unless i brake hard, what causes this???, i brought some bigger discs drilled and grooved to fit at the weekend, i was going to do pads too but they look brand new, discs dont look TOOO bad they are a few mm worn though. Do i need to get some new pads, has the jap guy before me brought crap pads?? or shall i just fit disks and then see if they squeek?? Also one brake is binding how can i solve this, i think this is front left though so maybe the new discs will solve this?? thanks everyone in advance.
