AHHHH the joys of motoring ,had my zed for two months so far a few minor things have gone like the alternator, turbos ,have a serious water leak and until the engine is dropped we duno where thats leaking from ,anyway few questions i need help with.The water drained out is brown,same as the leaking water whats that mean?and the oil drained out stinks of petrol whats that mean ?piston rings possibly?thanks for any advise

Just about to upgrade my ECU when I found this lead disconnected, does anyone know what it is, and what impact it has not being connected? It is next to the ECU. Thanks David

Can anyone recommend a good website/supplier of aftermarket lights? I'm after some 4"-6" round fog lights for a Z related side project I'm working on. I've had a look through Demontw@ts' motorsport catalogue and there's a couple that could be useful but I'd like to check elsewhere just in case. Looking for something cheap rather than a full on race/rally spec unit at the moment. Cheers, Leigh

How long do the DVLA usually take to get your car registered? They say on theit site about 3 days but are they known to take much longer? I did a dvla search on the forum but didn't manage to find an answer. Cheers, Al

the Z has been running fine until last weekend when it developed a slight hesitation when you put you foot flat to the floor at arround 5000 revs the problem has got worse this weekend when standing still and reving the engine it seems fine but when driving the hesitation and missing now gets worse, i :headvswal t seems fine in first, then in all the other gears it gets worse now it missing over 2000 revs and drives like shite when ever the engine gets over 2000rpm!!!!!! any ideas? :headvswal

My springs have seen better days , front ones mainly, the car sits a bit low and it seems a bit firm on the ride . Would i be better off with after market ones or standard . All i want is to improve the `ride`feel and lift her up a bit . What you think ?

Hi, well after the Bolney meet (which was excellent) I drove home and my car turned itself off at a round a bout. Started easily but had a loud noise coming from engine. Had it towed home to find out that I think a big end bearing has come loose. Car idles well, no missing, just rattles like hell if I rev even slightly. Have a mechanic to help me, but I need to know if we can get to the bottom end without removing engine. Any advice would be welcome. Engine not long re built, but not happy to return it to those who did work ?? Thanks everyone. Barry

Keeps bloody blowing coolant out. Just had all engine out, head gaskket done. Theres some weird little red peices of stuff floating around in there, maybe some silicone from sealing somewhere?? Topper her back up now anyway, perhaps theres still an air lock cause its not drawing fluid from the header tank, thats still full!!! Any one know where I can get a new rad cap from, could be the rubber is no good anymore or the springs lost its tension.

How do I get the cog at the front of the oil pump off? (The one that the cam belt runs on - I'm sure it has a proper name). It doesn't matter if it's wrecked as the oil pump is being replaced.

As the title really? Will any dot 5.1 do or special grades? Ive heard some banter about being compatible with the seals? Also how difficult is the ABS unit to get too?

Trying to replace the leather base on the passenger seat but not entirely sure how to separate the base and back rest of the seat. Removed the plastic covers on either side and there are a few bolts but some of them are round. Any help?? cheers ronnie

Is there an easy way to check if an import Targa was originally a Turbo car and not an N/A that got a turbo motor at some stage of its life?? Cant really count front lower bumper lip as loads have been damaged and switched/replaced What about chassis code? GCZ32 i take it is Turbo and GZ32 is N/A??? any other ways??? Ta

I want to top up my coolant but im not sure what coolant I should use - and what about if what i top it up with is different to whats already in it? Is it ok to mix? Thanks :hyper:

Countess Weir roundabout, I was filling up with Optimax, you were beeping at me. Sorry I didn't wave, I was filling up from the wrong side and was concentrating on keeping the nozzle in.

Been trying to get some for my connectors i.e. water temp sender, coilpacks, battery etc. Been told by 2 local motorfactors to just use normal copperslip grease. Is this any good for electrical contacts??? Or should I just wait and get some proper electrical contact grease.

Has anyone used these to find leaks? I have a bloody air leak on my car which is causing it to run lumpy and stall at junctions. Im beginning to think i have a crack in my plenum.Would a smoke bomb placed where the maf goes find this?The problem is its drawing air in,but surely what goes in must come out. Anyone? I have done a search but can't find a lot of info on this. The noise is a quite loud mechanical clicking coming from the dashboard area above the main vents. It will click 4/5 times then stop for 10 seconds and repeat. As you can imagine this is quite irritating. :headvswal I think I have found a way to stop it, by having the fan on and directing the air to my feet (series II climate control). But this is not a permanent solution. can anyone shed any light?

My zed is poorly, was on the mainland yesterday when develooped the mother of all mis-fires!! She sounds like a bloody V8 and the idling is VERY lumpy I have absolutely no knowledge at all of the zed engine, so i have no idea what would be causing it, please can one of you genius's throw some suggestions my way. Hi mate, when you had Martins car and pulled the engine you done a water bypass. Do you remember (long time back) if you removed/bypassed the EGR too. Just thinking of doing it and not sure exactly where it is but some say when water bypass are done the egr sometimes is too. Cheers
