I've finally made some room on the drive for my new zed so can start fiddling with it now! I've got a double din stereo to fit so I've got to do something with the fog light switch, turbo timer and boost controller that sit underneath the stereo now. The timer will probably go, not sure where to put the controller yet but... With the rear fog light switch can I not wire it up to work off of the original front fog switch in the pod so the front and rears come on together? Is it an MOT requirement that they be operated separately? I can't think why I would ever want to turn them on individually.

I took the dogs for a good long walk around the village yesterday afternoon as we all needed to stretch our legs, and I was quite surprised to discover that I am not alone... Whilst on our travels, I came across (not literally, I might add! ) a silver 350Z about half a mile away, a ginger 350Z Roadster a little further along and, very surprisingly, a Z31 300ZX less than 5 minutes from my front door! Four different Z cars (including mine) within a 3 mile radius of each other! I don't think that's bad going for a sleepy little village like mine. I may give the Z31 owner a knock to see if I can have a nose around it. Not sure if it's on the road or a pro…

Has anyone bought one of these kits? cant see the big L shaped radiator hose in the picture, so maybe a generic picture...? Just needed the short top rad hose, after the original rubber one split. That's the second time now, so better go the whole hog and change the lot methinks... - - - Updated - - - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-Silicone-Radiator-TURBO-Hose-For-Nissan-300ZX-VG30DETT-Z32-1990-1999-Blue-/252047674594?hash=item3aaf364ce2 D'uh....

Should have my new brake callipers here by Wednesday and as I'm buying new braided hoses can the hoses plug directly into the standard aluminium callipers or do they still need that small piece of copper pipe ? Also what's the best kind of braided hoses recommended ?

Whenever my cars rear nearside hits a bump I get a loud creaking noise from that area. I can get the car to do the noise whilst reversing that side of the car up an awkward incline such as a ramped kerb at the side of the road. The car is lowered so it will be impossible to look for the noise with the wheels on. I have tried jacking the hub up whilst the car is on axle stand but that just lifts the car up. I have removed and re greased my anti roll bar bushes and also checked and re greased the rose joints on my adjustable camber arms. A clue might be that I also every once in a while get a clunk from the same area when hitting a bump, don't know if it could be re…

Hey guys Well I've finally got my engine internals back from the machine shop. Obviously, prior to assembling the bottom end I need to give anything a thorough clean. However I've come across a bit of a head scratcher. Between some of the journals there is a oil channel that runs diagonally through the crank between the main and big end journals. These are capped at one end of the oil way with what appears to be a freeze plug. You can see these oilways run at 90 degrees to the journal when you look through the oil way in each journal. So it basically carries oil from big end to main to big end through the crankshaft itself. I'm not sure on how exactly …

Having owned my Z for over decade now, I've noticed a number of things which has made me think that the Z32 has now 'become of age'. This isn't a thread about market values (we all know they're slowly rising), but more about what has become of the cars and what many owners are now doing to them. Of course, performance upgrades have always been something that people have been keen to do (I include myself in that statement), but visuals etc (despite being highly subjective) have completely moved away from the great big ugly bodykits as displayed in the 90's to mid 2000s. Long gone are rag rolled paint jobs, acres of fibreglass, lurid colours, graphics, neons and o…

  16. I must have thrown mine away, can't find it anywhere. I want to put the steering on a switch to loop from light city/parking steering to heavy track/enthusiastic driving. At the mo it's stuck on heavy which is good for feel but fancy a change.

Trying to check tyre pressures and one of the valves won't come off. They have metal caps on and one of them seems to have jammed onto the stem. When I get a socket on it (they are 10mm Hex caps) the whole stem, which is also metal, rotates. I've tried grabbing it with some needle-nose pliers but it still turns. I took the car to Prodrive who recommended I get a replacement stem, in case the existing one is found to be damaged when they remove the tyre. Looking online there are about a thousand different kinds. Does anybody know what sort I need, or are all the makes essentially the same? The wheels are marked "Versus" and I've attached a couple of pics. T…

I'm noticing a slight buzzing noise from my NA fuel pump on the last few journeys, a lot like what you would get when a boot-mounted CD changer is loading a disc. It's audible on startup and at idle when active, but quiet enough that the engine drowns it out at any active level of revs. What level of noise is normal?
