I have to use my spacesaver to get my car to the garage about an hour away. I am obviously going to take it very easy, not exceeding 50mph etc but i wanted to know what side i should put it on to make the journey as safe as possible. the rears is where the power is through so i guess it would make sense to put it on the front but i am not going to be use much power so it would be better to put it on the back and use the good wheels on the front to improve the turning and braking. The other wheels on there are 18" and the problem is with the rear right suspension (bent not broke) if that makes a difference.

getting ready to fit the upgraded head with upgraded valves and camshafts. heres whats been happening. right here we go! had a busy day the sun shone and i started again, got loads done before i really made a big mistake!. undoing a really stiff bolt , my hand covered in grease slipped off the ratchet and i hit my bad finger into the car with a massive force, then a big crack! seems my joint popped so now its back in the splints again with bruised tandons. as you can see i got a lot done but nothing conclusive. i also got so far and basically chickened out of doing any more a: due to the finger and b: because im a coward. pics follow not…

Still on a search for my 300zx. There is one quite close to me for sale, not been to see it yet its advertised as a Nissan 300zx Fairlady Targa, non turbo manual. it has 62k on the clock they are asking £3995 My question is any idea what sort of power this will be producing, and what sort of 0-60 time? Im not to bothered about it being non turbo as this will be my first RWD car, and i guess i could turbo it in future if i wanted, but its mostly the specs id like to know if anyone has them? Pete

It was deattached when i bought it and i cant figure out how to refit it?? I can see where the two blank bolts (best way i can think of describing them?!?) fit into the holders in the rear of the boot but i cant figure out where the front part attaches to and how. The owners manual is no help.

Hi all Just thought I'd post about how cool everyone thinks the 300zx is...... Driving to work in the week, I was just turning out of my road when a black 3000gto turned into my road from the main road. The driver slowed down, giving me the nod and thumbs up..... Just a little further as I turned the next corner, my window open to appreciate the V6 rumble, when a group of school girls began pointing and commenting on "what a cool car that is" Then today I decided to give the ZX a wash. 3 people walked past during the course of cleaning it, they all commented on it being a nice car. One middle aged chap stopped for a bit of a chat on how he had…

Hi All  I am relocating to Spain in three weeks and have stumbled upon a huge fooking problem. I started to take my Plenum apart to put a new one on and replace the hoses in the engine bay. The plenum is stripped down (but still not off as it has a few awkward bolts left) and all the hoses in the bay have been removed. Disaster has struck in the form of my other half who has now insisted that unless my Zed is a running car in the next few weeks, I will have to sell her on flea bay for peanuts. I do see her point as the storage costs are too much to warrant stroring a non running car :hurl: As time is a major issue, I have abandaned taking the …

Ive noticed recently that if i brake reasonably hard (but not full braking effort) sometimes the car stalls! Its almost as if the gearbox isnt giving up soon enough.... After closer inspection it seems to happen only when im braking quite hard and trying to turn the wheel, its bloody dangerous as if the car does stall the power steering stops and turning can be interesting! Anyone have any idea where i should start with this? I have checked P/s fluid, and brake fluid master cyc and brake bleed.... I have no hicas (after market wheel) smithys big brake kit, braided hoses and thats about it thats likely to effect.... Cheers all

hi recently it would seem i am getting a lot of noise from the rear of the car. Which i suspect is the wheel bearings. Before i go out and start anything. I would like to know if there are any tips advice or links avalibe for this problem? Also how easy are wheel bearings to change on a 300 and how exspensive? or is that a daft question. :smash: rich

Hi all, just bought my first ever Zed, never looked at them before until I saw one in the local car auction the other week, a TT import manual which I was out bid on. It was really tatty, in need of a respray and the rear seats had been taken out, but sounded great! I bid £850 on it but it made £1100 in the end, sold to a local dealer who put it up for sale for £2k (no history on 'H' plate). Started looking for one just for fun and bought 'G' plate TT auto import. Had loads of Mercs v8's, Bmw V8's and 12's but this beast beats them all! GREAT FUN!
