Can we have a best zed competition for xmas voted for by the members? We could have different categories, best body, best tech, best overall etc. I know we do mini versions of this at some of the National meets, but I don't remember doing a big version of this voted for by everyone. What do you guys think?

Hi , I have two questions for you guys, first one is a braking one: When I brake hard I'm getting a squeeling noise, now this isn't a squeel coming from the pads, it's coming from inside the car, like from the brake pedal itself, also I'm getting real spoungey feel to the pedal too. The second is I'm getting a knocking / rattling noise coming from the front drivers wheel area, it knocks and rattles when going over ripples in the road, or over small manholes and strangely when coming down a speed ramp but not up a speed ramp which is odd, this happens whether turning or going straight, I changed the anti roll bar endlinks thinking it might be them, but no. …

Has anyone tried the front or back strut braces that crop up on Ebay? I know the front can be (very)awkward, but the back one must be fairly straightforward surely? They're on Ebay for £20! Cheers, Tony

Does anyone know where there is a rolling road in the Tyne & Wear (Gateshead) area that will test a 300zx? I have contacted a couple and I am informed that most Z's are too low for their's and as mine has been dropped (about 3" at front). Should I give up on the fact of using one? Obviously I would love to test the power of my newly aquired Z (89 TT auto) so I can watch it's progression over the forthcoming months as it upgraded but also because someone has knacked my speedo and it's needs calibrating (I am no good with electrics).

I'm thinking of treating myself this christmas to a remote starter, as it's getting cold now, plus i'm getting lazy. I looked on ebay an saw one there which looked pretty good. But there was a not that said it was not for an automatic. I've asked the seller if this was a feature that was not for an automatic or if it was the whole set up that would not work for my car. He did reply an say that he was not 100% sure but would gladly find out for me. Does anyone know if there would be a reason that a remote car starter would not work on an automatic?

  21. Hey folks I might need front discs and pads soon. Any idea what's a fair price for front discs, pads and fitting? I'm pretty happy with the standard ones so will probably stick with them unless there's a good reason not to. I know some people change but I recon a stock set up in good condition with fresh fluid etc is good enough for me. (I have limited internet access - just moved house and the new supplier (ID Net) have fvcked up my new connection so I'm basically without net access for the next two weeks - I can occasionally use this Vodafone card so I can check briefly now and then.) Thanks in advance folks.

Just been watching the pics of floods on the news and thought maybe a few owners might not realise how vulnerable the TT is when they are negotiating a small amount of water! A whiule ago I bought an immaculate TT from a guy who had been gingerly negotiating a puddle a few inches deep when a lorry coming the other way caused wash. The water was drawn in and ended up hydraulicing the engine, breaking a conrod and writing engine off. I've still got all the bits and it certainly did make a mess!- just bear in mind! Regards to All Dave
