Cheers to You UNO, no 1 for keeping the engine for me, and for providing nice cuppa tea, during the removal of the engine, for me and the lads. Basically ive now got UNO's engine, which due to the sad loss of his two tone zed, the engine will now have a new home in my zed. We started yesterday morning at just after 9.30am, a few cups of tea later, removal of the engine was completed by taking out the subframe and raising the body up. All the parts such as exhausts and gearbox are of the car. Total time from start to finish 2 hours 40 mins. Thanks mate, will pop over when running. Sussex Stu

since hauling my engine out it looks like the oil wasnt coming from the crank seal, but from the seal round the plunger on the auto tensioner. is this a common problem?

Today i've decided to clean my throttle bodies and also took my trust induction kit, maf apart to give it a clean. I cleaned what looked like a normal cotton airfilter with some air filter cleaner. Rinsed it out with water and the bloody thing has fallen apart lol. Where can I buy a replacement? or will it be ok? It's split at the bottom. Here is a pic... I'm going to have to dry it with a hairdryer and carefully put it back together as i've got to have the car on the road tomorrow to go to work! Chris

My car has cruise control, which doesnt work. When the cruise button on the right hand "bank" of controls is pressed the system engages, well the light comes on and "cruise" is illuminated. However it doesnt seem to responsd to set, resume etc etc.... So to cut a long story short, i noticed that the edge of the top of the steering wheel trim was loose, i figure no worries just pop that back in. On taking the cover of the steering wheel of i noticed that the cruise buttons wernt plugged into anything, furthur more the connector for them to plug into has gone (you can all see where this is going....) Where should it be? Is it possible its dropped down the stee…

well finally the time came for me to ditch the air con, i have'nt used it much at all & its been without gas for the past 2 years anyway so will probably be knackerd :mac1: its amaizing the aircon rad covers the whole of the coolant rad, how on earth was i meant to keep the engine cool with this in the way?? much better now though loads of room , also the aircon compressor has gone along with the associated pipe work, hopefully get the ash spec rad in there 2 keep things ice cool ;)

I have a 1993 Twin Turbo auto, it has got a slight vibration, noticable from 60mph onwards, by the time we get to 120 to 130 its getting quite bad, it feels bad to me anyway, not used to vibrations lol It seems worse when decelerating from these speeds. I think its the propshaft that requires balancing from reading around, but if anyone has any different ideas or agress with me (would be a first :D) I would greatly appreciate it Thanks Chris

Putting my exhausts back on after getting the prop straightened and sheared one of the three studs on the turbo downpipe! Not bloody happy, when does it ever end! :( I know this is common so how do I change it? I really hope the turbo doesnt have to come out etc or I am going to miss another summer with a broken z. :(
