What tyres are you all using on the front? Beginning to wonder if my lowering springs, the offset of my wheels and tyre size is causing it to rub on the upper suspension arm? Hard to tell when the car isn't moving.

anyone know where i can get one of the following and roughly how much would i be looking at? cheers

anybody running 285 rears without a widebody?

Slow but sure my car is moving towards being back on the road. I blew up the engine in November, but had a spare luckily. So for engine has been removed for both new and old cars by greg. wheels have been removed awaiting replacements. aircon rad and most of the piping was removed today by me, though greg de-presserised it for me before hand. PCV valves changed. Plenum removed from engine and water pipes removed, ready for bypass by me. Manual gearbox cooler removed and mocal one going in its place. mesh from bumper removed and lights to be re-sited. Still a whole list of jobs to go. Fit lightened pulley, egr bypass & plunum water bypass to engine then refit…

Yesterday I was bored and vaguely thinking ( again ) about a smaller front number plate . I did a search and saw FunkySi`s link to http://www.fancyplates.com/ . Had a shufty at the site and ordered 3/4 size front one yesterday afternoon , way after the 12 noon same-day despatch deadline . Bearing in mind they say " Allow five working days for delivery " , I was expecting it by next Friday . It arrived today at 11:30am :hyper: And from Northern Ireland at that ! Unfortunately I discovered the floor was looking a bit wet the other day. I have just checked the coolant and that has gone down too!! :( I just wanted to make sure there was nothing else it could be other than the matrix before I started ripping out the dash. And mines a manual so I take it removing the dash is the best way to go??? Cheers all

My local garage gave me Zed a minor service recently. They fitted Bosch plugs (without me asking). I soon found out on here Bosch are not well thought of for the 300ZX. I think since then my fuel consumption may have been a little heavier than usual. So, if I go to replace them with NGK, what do you think will happen? The old NGK plugs still in there? I'll just break something trying and not change them at all? I'll manage to swop them sucessfully for new NGK? I'll not get round to it and do nawt?

can anyone tell me how to disconect it simple as that realy cheers boys ;)

going taking a twinturbo engine out of a crashed car on monday.... what i want to know is what is the easyest and FAST way to remove it,the turbos are coming with it. do 1 drop engine and box or rip box from engine and lift out.... HELP ON THIS SUBJECT IS NEEDED BIG TIME a step by step on how to take it out would be a great help thanks in advance

Whats the best speakers to go for? I am after some that will fit in place of the standard items both front and rear, budget upto £600. Hey there..just had a stainless exhaust fitted by Longlife..did a nice job..will post some pics up later! yeah ,looks great ;straight through no cat(didnt have one before)nice sound,all good BUT...now the Z smokes..didn't before :is this ECU matter? (smoking on idle)

the revs on my n\a were all over the place on tic over so i changed the tbu for a re conditioned 1 .this hasnt solved the problem much. i did only change the half of the unit ............the non electrical side. could it b the other side thats giving me problems help please as every body thinks i'm reving the nuts out of my car while sat at lights :bow: :bow: and zebras :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal

hi all just wandering if anyone knows to a garage in th west midlands that could look at my car its gettin worse and worse, doing less to the tank and getting noisey, phoned zedworld they said its going to be next month till they can see my car, but use it ever day so need the motor, does anyone know to someone local to the midlands??? many regards andy

just got my ecu re-fitted last week after John Dixon 'chipped' it. at first it felt great but i'm not sure now if i've just got used to the power, or if the cars gone into safety boost. It has 1mm boost jets fitted but only seems to be boostin to 5-6bar? any thoughts?

Was about 8am and you were going northbound in the single lane of the roadworks by junction 9-10. Pretty sure you had the 300zx.co.uk stickers but couldnt say for sure. You were with a bloke as far as i could see.

hi all you stereo people out there.. bear in mind all i know is how my system sounds not a techie at all. Well here goes I have a pioneer deh headunit with a 12 disc changer digi equaliser, 2 # 6.5" components with crossovers in the front , 2 # 6 x 4" jbl's in the rear and a 10" sub with 1000w amp in the boot. it sounds great however the jbl 6 x 4 in the rear are crappy..lol they seem to be trying to push more sound than they are able..and distort lots.. :mac1: the rest of the system sounds superb and am very happy with it, just need to sort this out.. any suggestions as to a different speaker and where i can get them from?? cheers people

i have just pulled back my door cards to look at the front speakers to see the condition and if they are std or have been upgraded at some point. I guess they have been as there are tweaters in the door cards and the speakers look like mids. They are installed on what looks like to be some ply that has been painted red to match the paintwork(!) they are 8.5 front and 9.5 rear. I want a tyre which looks mad thinking about Toyo R888 road slicks but..... The bloke recomend a 255 on the rear but i thought they were meant to be 265?? what would you fit to these size rims?

Ive owned my gorgeous Z for just 3 weeks and had been searching for a minter for 18 months but i started a new job in London and just can't afford to live in Sussex anymore. Its costing me £90 a week just in train fares!!! Im having to move to London very soon and can't afford/park a car. So looks as if the Z is going to have to go. Hi Guys , as you know may know i am upgrading my zed to the next level , done the brakes , clutch , flywheel , pulleys , propshaft, suspension , interior leather retrim , now i want to take the engine to the next level , i am buying some GT600rs off smithy and 555 injectors , i have allready a FMI which will be fitted , i also bought an ECU upgrade chip from Andy P ( never used yet ) however after contacting him he has unfortunatley pointed out the upgrade chip is not mapped for 555 injectors so is of no further use to me , i also have a profec B boost controller , which chip would you guys recommend or which do you run ?? ,the ECU has been socketed already s…

Anyway, I'm after some peoples views on a problem I am having, one that I think is linked to the EGR. Having read a few 300zx forums over the years, it seems quite common to remove the EGR when the engine is out. It cleans up the engine bay and avoids some nasty problems if its not working properley. However, this recommendation seems to always be for TT's, but being an NA owner myself I'm starting to believe that the EGR removal is not a wise move for the NA.
