Found the Z's pretty reliable (it's a Nissan afterall). Probably only spent about the same to keep them on the road as my father in laws old Micra! Ball joint here brake pads/disc there, plugs, oil, tyres bulbs. Can't beat a Nissan. All agreed?

hey all, i was just wondering about common problems with zeds that are between 1990-91, regarding leaks, electrical problems, engine faults, etc. i want to buy a zed but in canada it's a little hard to find a zed any older than a 92 for some odd reason. i'm not too worried about the age, but i just want to know what sort of problems i could be getting myself into? any tips out there i would find useful? oh, and also how do the t-tops hold up usually?

Just a thought. Why does one turbo cost a grand or more than the next? The cost of producing them can’t vary THAT much surely? Bigger housing etc = more materials, yes but not a grand’s more! 90% I would have thought are put together the same way? So just wondering why there is such a huge difference in prices?

Hi Guys, could do with some help here. I need a tailgate for my '89 Jap import TT. I will only be using the glass (the tint needs to be bronze) and trim (the trim is an important factor in this). Vandals destroyed mine on New Years Eve and it's been with Autoglass ever since the 2nd January. I was first told mid February for fitting which was then extended until the end of March. Popped in today to check on my Z and to get an update. The manager e-mailed HO and we're waiting for a reply. While I was there, he suggested that maybe the owners club could come up with the goods quicker than the Nissan factory itself. Autoglass would arrange the payment and the pickup. Bear in…

My 91 UK is running like a bag of s**t. Very hesitent, smoking from idle (cold), smoking under acceleration. Anyway I'm taking it to a garage tommorow for a general look over and was hoping to shed some light from the Datascan log i've just run. Unfortunately it is meaningless to me. Would anyone be so kind to cast their eye over it to see if anything is obviously wrong. The file is 1.6MB, i could email it. Or I have a smaller file whilst the car was idling if 1.6MB is too big. Thanks

Hi all, still having probs with speed signal i.e they`re ain`t one! speedo is fine sensor is fine, wiring is fine as all works when out of car according to the mechanic,is it possible that the drive gear on the gearbox shaft has worked loose? I notice it`s locked/held in place via a steel ball,do these break at all leading to the gear spinning on the shaft itself? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, hi everyone. :D My zed is a 1991 jap manual. I've only very recently started to have trouble with the gearbox. At high revs (4000 and over) it just wont shift up into 3rd or 4th, i have to wait a second or 2 for the revs to drop. There doesn't seem to be any problem shifting up into 2nd or 5th, or with any downshifts. The clutch feels fine and is acting normally. Any ideas what may be causing this?

I've had problems with severe front inside edge tyre wear ever since lowering and fitting 18's. Last summer I fitted adjustable camber arms and had it adjusted and laser aligned to the Nissan factory specs. Within a couple of thousand miles I'm gutted to find another set of tyres down to the metal on the inside edge. Presuming it was setup correctly is there anything else could be causing this? It's costing me £250 a time experimenting at the mo!

Hi All Not very often I get excited  , but received some indiglo White Dials today that are as good as anything I've seen and a lot better price- £49.99 + 3.50 postage! They come with really good high quality instructions actually for the 300zx using pics of an actual instrument pod/ step by step. The dials themselves are TT and 180mph- and for the jap/ non converted this is of course the perfect time to fit a converter. They appear good quality and are made by/for this UK business. The numbers etc are clear and very like the originals- not the irritating italics I have seen on some out there. I bought with Paypal off Ebay (see below), bu…
