Just had a great waste of time trying to find out whats legally required to convert mileometer from kilometers to miles. Dvla, passed me onto their technical dept, Their basic advice was changing the mileometer in any way could been seen as clocking, and they advice not to touch it to keep it accurate. I explained that I wanted to fit a conversion chip that would start the mileometer clocking in miles, so it would not be accurate anymore, because part of the reading would be in kilometers and the other in miles, this was meet with silence. The next suggestion was to change to UK clocks, I explained that that was not possible as the 300ZX convertible uses differen…

My new zed has a really bad vibration throught the steering wheel and the whole car when braking. Its noticable after 40 but really bad after 60-70. Im starting to notice it whilst driving at about 60 when not even braking. I am really struggling to have fun in the car as i have no confidence in it. The garage assures me it doesn't have warped disks. The vibration is from the front end. Any ideas or similar problems???

does anybody know how much difference the larger injectors have on the performance of and n/a? i have s/s headers, decat, lightweight u/d pulley, performance airfilters, and will be getting it chipped. also how much would it cost to get hold of some decent ones and how hard are they to fit? cheers everyone alex

the bit of perspex on the bootlid is coming off at the ends on my z. i was thinking of having a stainless steel stip in its place maybe with a lit up fairlady template pressed in. what do people think? my car is silver by the way

Courtesy Nissan have quoted a shipping price for their 'new from factorymanual gearbox priced at $1935.95 with the uprated internals'! They say they can ship it to me for $700 which gives a grand total of $2635.35. At the current exchange rate this equates to £1,363.56... What to you reckon the import tax will be? Do you reckon it would be worth the money? Is there any difference in the box from a US z to a UK/JDM z? Joel.

I noticed that my Zed was overboosting on the way up to the Pod yesterday. In 5th gear I was getting max boost readings of 19psi!!! I have a greddy profec b spec 2 and until yesterday this would not boost over about 17psi. I have not changed these settings since it was installed. I am going to check for any loose tubing as I know this could cause it. Is it possible that my wastegate is stuck in a shut position? What else could cause this? Thanks, Mike... P.S. I think this is why I got some quite impressive 1/4 mile times! LOL

Well I turned up to the warm up meet of the Zclub drag challenge yesterday. It was my first time up at the Pod but I think I did OK. My best time was 13.68 seconds and my best reaction time was 0.4 seconds. Think you can beat these times? Well get yourself up the Pod for the 1st qualifying event on the 1st April...

guys im at my whits end :headvswal just done the led conversion looks great, everything worked fine, then did the ignition barrel led & i accidently shorted the circuit now none of the illumination lights work on the dash!! i have checked every fuse with a tester & they are all fine!! all headlight work fine side & dim & dip what on earth could it be?? quick guys before i pull my hair out :D :D any help greatly appreceated

I bought and installed two fuel hoses at 10mm size under the plastic cover on the pressure regulator. Just read that it is supposed to be 8mm size. Do I need to change to 8mm or is it fine with 10mm??

Hello all, I have just tryed to do a diognostic test on my 91 uk spec tt I went through the sequence a few times but nothing happends? no lights no nothing? where and when should the lights flash? Just also done an ECU test and that came back code 55 which is fine. can anyone tell me why this does not work? and where the lights would flash?? Cheers in advance!!

I am in the process of doing Zed research with a view to buying. The MPG situation however has me confused. I am looking fot a TT but peoples claimed mpg seem to vary enormously, from 13 - 25 combined. Can anyone tell me their calculated mpg over a good length of time for a stock engine. I currently get 30 in the bmw and i have a figure in my mind, below which i just cant do it, My fingers are crossed.

Am trying to purchase rear roll bar connecting rods, but i cant seem to get hold of any help... :headvswal Have tried the Z centre, MJP... But no response to phone calls etc since last week.
