I'm having my apexi avcr installed and setup on Sunday if all goes to plan. My question is...what settings do I program in and how much boost do I run? The car in question is a 1992 JDM Nissan 300zx TT manual swb slicktop. It's only done 50k miles and had a full cambelt change recently etc. The car is going to have an oil and oil filter change tomorrow to some silkolene 10w50 i think is in my garage... The car has the following mods/parts replaced: Bilstein suspension SPL type adjustable upper camber arms Adjustable lower tension rods New propshaft centre bearing Trust induction kit Blitz Access Computer (ECU) Kakimoto cat-back twin system R…

Well today I decided to rip out the hole Hicas system. That was the rear steering rack all the pipe work from the rear under the car to the front, the pump and the twin turbo pas pot and the front mount small oil cooler. In place of all this I will rebuild with a Hicas eliminator for the rear rack a N/A power steering pump and pas pot. This should help to make things a little tidy'r under the bonnet , oh and I have also ripped out that bloody bleed pipe for the clutch and fitted a different clutch master cylinder, Will post pics soon

Posted a thread up recently asking which trader I can buy the following from but I need to get them asap as in tomorrow because I think i've found someone to install my avcr for me for free on Sunday. Above is a picture of all the parts required. I'm missing some vacuum hose and those small plastic t-pieces in that plastic bag on the right. Can anyone advise where I can buy them from? like a high street retailer. Thanks, Chris

This is really weird....I started up the Z after days of it just sitting there waiting to go to the mecanics for suspected turbo seals problem(after having exhaust fitted it smoked real bad)and this time it didn't smoke AT ALL!! Couldn't believe it ..Took it out on the highway with mate following ;drove it hard ,fast take off...nothing to be seen ,just a bit of soot on extreme acceleration...let it sit idling for 10 mins, nothing;no smoke at all!! Then later sitting in the drive way it starts smoking again (a lot)So what do you reckon??Turbos are working perfectly(as in very quick)and this smoke business just seems to be random.....could this be indicative of the PCV valv…

I seem to remember reading that UK alloys were different to Jap ones. I think it said that UK ones were wider or staggered orsomething like that. Are they staggered? if so how much for a decent set without tires, and will they fit an s13?

very strange problem this morning which has ruined my day...... car was fine yesterday but this morning on my way to work i noticed that my digital spa temp gauge was only slightly above the amb temperature. this stayed like this for about 10mins which was very strange and then suddenly lempt up to the usual temp of about 70C then started wobbling about between 50-80C then pulling into the work car park it started rapidly spiralling upto 90 and beyond and reached 105C when i pulled into a space and shut the engine off. There was steam coming out from the bonnet and when i lifted it there was coolant spraying out of one of the hoses that connects to the head. …

On my quest to find out what would cause high levels of H/C as they need to go down here's a few things I need to confirm. Code 13, makes the car run in safe mode, I take it this means it'll dump more fuel into the engine, hence the higher chances of the fuel not fully burning and ending up with an exhaust fume smelling more like petrol! O2 sensors, if they are shot, would it do the same as above? Also, after driving for periods of time with the engine dumping more fuel then needed, I guess my cats would be dead!? Any help would be nice cheers!

Gets on my wick this. You PM traders on this site for a quote. You know they have read it and days after you still hear nothing. Not even a pm saying "Im waiting on a price for parts" or whatever. You pay £100 a year subs do you actually want our business??? And then they moan when we go outside the forum :headvswal

I'm sure this has been talked about before .. but i need a refresher course plz. Petrol leakage seems to be an ongoing problem with my 96 non turbo, ive had the pump replaced, replaced some of the fuel lines that are easy to get to on top of the engine, but the smell of petrol is back :( .. like real bad. can some one tell me where their might be hidden or out of sight fuel lines that i mightened be able to see, would like to try on fix this on the weekend so any help/advice would be great.

Just like to say i'm pretty chuffed today as the Z passed it's MOT today with no problems at all. Had an advisory for all 4 tyres (whoops :( ) as they were just above legal limit but all else was cool. I do have a question about my emissions though. On my print-out it says my CO level was 0.00 and my HC level was 16! I done a search on the forum and this seems stupidly low. I haven't done the 'trick' with the fuel damper either (although i was ready, just in case). Here's a copy of the printout: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/lcridford/mot_emissions_2007.htm Could this be the cleanest Z around? :hyper: Either that or the guy in the MO…

Hey peeps, just wondering if this is going to be a viable project. Am I looking at mega money for that kind of hp at the wheels?? The mods I have so far are: Sus induction Decat with divorced downpipes, longlife s/steel system. Lightened crank pulley Avc-R boost controller Before I fitted the boosty it was 280 at the wheels and I'm now running 0.85 bar which feels quite nippy. Looking at Smithy's website I've got a list of things I'm guessing I would need to acheive the above figure safely 555cc injectors, intercoolers, engine rebulid kit for reliabilty, head bolt kit, big brake kit, 6 puck clutch, lightened flywheel, turbos of some kind. I can spend u…
