I'm just interested in people's thoughts here. Forever, I've used the better patrols such as optimax or v-power. This is also what the car was mapped on. The other day, I was running out of petrol and had no real choice but to put some cheaper petrol in from Morrisons (only £10). I noticed absolutely no difference at all in the way the car drove. So I'm wondering what people's thoughts are on using the cheaper fuels and whether it 'really' makes a difference or every day use. For info, it's a jap car. Thanks, Lee

  2. Started by Akita,

Evening everyone. I've had a bit of a problem this evening. After finishing work, I went to start my car... and nothing. The previous owner is a land rover mechanic who fitted a land rover alarm and immobiliser. The dash all lit up when the key was turned, but when you fully turn the key, there's nothing at all. This is the immobiliser. For some reason my button fob isn't working. I assumed it was a dodgy battery so I got the Mrs to drive my spare keys and fob to work. Same thing. So the batteries in the fobs are fine, as is the battery in the car. Anyone ever experienced similar? I'm assuming it's something to do with the alarm receiver? Any advice more than welc…

Just bought my new zed and it has these, kinda cool and a big surprise when they came on :) When they do it they light up the full lane next to me. Anyone else got these and are they legal as they are very bright.

In the new year my next job is to get my AJ4 series six spoiler resprayed and refitted. Its lacquer has long since been defeated by the Japanese sun, and the left mounting is probably the source of a very slight boot leak. Few questions on the spoiler: Bolts needed? Is there anything else holding it on, such as glue or clips? Anything else worth mentioning?

Afternoon one and all I have not long ago started on my Zed adventure, but I would like a bit of advice, I can start my car like a dream, fires up and idles fine....but sometimes if you were to rev it the rpm would drop to almost stalling, but other times she is fine. I'm new to these engines so before I go looking for a problem that isn't there, has anyone else had this happen to them? any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks Monty

Have not been out in my car at night for a while. I came home from the south coast. I forgot how bad the lights were I need to do something to sort them out. What have you done to yours to make them better?

  9. Started by Funkysi,

By the end of spring, I plan on replacing my KYB AGX and Tein S Tech for a set of MeisterR Zeta-S coilovers. I've come to the conclusion that the stock strut top bushings are crap and start to creak, even when replaced with new. I also want to lower my Z a little more and have a little more adjustability in the dampening. I believe you can set the pre-load to a lot lower than you can with KYB AGX shocks. Generally, the MeisterRs are held in high regard, they're comfortable and well made - but I'm wondering who here has them AND, just as importantly, what was on the car before you fitted them. I've driven JoelyP's Z and that does feel nice, rides well, isn't…

Just pulled out of my road right behind this car on the way to a SE meet to see this! Unfortuantely the Z wasn't going to the meet as such, but how ironic timing. Anyone know who's this belongs to? The only other person i know in my area that has one is Cybernet, but i heard his car wasnt on the road?

Personally mine are series 4 but as far as i am aware all through the years all clocks have 4 x 501/T10 wedge type bulbs for the illumination of the dials/needles, 1 x 501/T10 is for the illumination of the low fuel symbol. All were originally clear filament bulbs with coloured rubber johnnies on, these are shown on the first pic - the 2 on the left. In this pic we also see some of the different types, some are clearly way too long, there are literally hundreds to choose from, all of these were bought on ebay from the far east. The most recent i bought are the red boarded smd ones, it was in the back of my mind that they may be a bit long, lets n…

Just saw this one on ebay and wondered if it was a TT or not. It has a TT bumper but no boost gauge. (and its a '91 so they had them then) It looks quite clean with no rust, but it has had a horrible bumper re-spray so that would lead me to think it is an NA FYI i'm not buying it :D - - - Updated - - - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-NISSAN-300-ZX-2-2-GREY-/291638638794?hash=item43e70478ca:g:q8UAAOSwT6pVthYN

  15. I was thinking of getting one of these as they've come down in price over the last few years, i remember they were €999 a few years back. Anyway, I can't live without my iphone (Yes, I'm an Apple Head!). What do you reckon both fitment wise and stereo wise of putting it in the Z??

  16. Started by Funkysi,

Spurred on by another thread, I was wondering, from today's owner base, how long they've owned their CURRENT Z for? I am pretty sure AndrewG holds that record at 16/17 years. I'm now into my 11th year of ownership and continue to become more and more attached to it. So, how long have you owned your current Z? Votes are public - so everyone can see how long people have owned theirs. Whilst I got mine in 2005 (1 complete decade), I am now into my 11th year - so I have selected 11 for example

Hey everyone, does anyone know where to find a piping kit for a front mount intercooler? Thankyou

  18. Started by Dazsw,

The car is off the road for winter, so I'm doing some stuff I've always ment to do, but never found the time. Well time and no were to work, but after building a nice garage this year I now have room to work and play in the dry. I had the battery out to get room to work on something else, but whilst there I noticed the passenger side turbo hose top clip was very loose, took 10 turns to tighten! The car has always boosted and seemed ok, hence why I've never bothered to check for leaks, but now is the time after seeing this. I have a boost leak tester, removed the MAF, installed tester, attached a small compressor I have, after a few minutes still 0 pres…

Anybody no of a simple way to bleed rear wheel steer rack??? Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

  21. Started by Mondo,

I'd like to say a huuuuuge "Thank you!" to Rata2ie (Mark) for being a very patient man! I collected a spare steering wheel from him at JAE and he'd already paid me to have this retrimmed. Roughly 3 months later, it's finally finished and ready to send back to him!! I've managed to fall behind on a lot of the "smaller" jobs in recent times - his being one of them - so apologies for the rather sizeable delay and thanks yet again for being so patient, Mark!

  22. Started by neilz32tt,

I need to bleed my hicas. I have read a thread about getting under the car on stands and getting somebody in the car to turn the wheel from left to right with it in gear at 2000rpm plus. I would prefer to use conzult. Could anyone please tell me what one I need to buy. I see several on ebay but not sure if the cd is just the driver and not actually the conzult software???? Hello by the way! Spotted this Zed parked up in Stainton whilst I was out walking this week, it has a club sticker in the window

  24. Started by Stephen,

Having no where to store a zed in winter is crap, we all know that. The last two winters mines gone into hibernation. I think I can honestly say it's received more weather related damage than being used. So in honour of the new tax law, allowing the payment to be monthly, making life easier and the extensive anti rust program I went through last winter, I've decided to just keep driving it, unless it's salty/raining. So I thought I'd start a new thread on the back of the colour threads. It's for the winter warriors, we see the garage queens posted up now I want to see the daily driven zeds, the dirty, used ones. So although mine isn't the aim of thread, you can't start wi…
