Hi, I bought a TT about a year ago and it's driving me up the wall. My engine blew (melted piston) 5 months ago and I bought an engine off some guy on ebay with allegedly 40K KM's on it. I swapped all the goodies off my engine on to it and spent a fortnight getting it back in the car. My problem is it makes a hell of a clacking noise on the top end. I flushed the engine twice, changed the oil and filter twice but no change.....even took it for a blast in case I had a sticky lifter. I checked inside the cam cover through the oil filler and the cam lobes seem dry so I assume the lifters are also dry. Oil pressure is just above the 4 on the pressure guage on the d…

  3. As above, the wheels have only been on the car for about 9 months, never seen salt etc, never kerbed etc etc etc. But, the chrome is coming off, its just peeling away! I have emailed Stern but so far they are ignoring me, which is just what I expected tbh. Anyway, two things, first its a warning to anyone who may be thinking of buying these wheels, DONT. Second, anyone have any experience of getting chrome wheels re finished? Any names? I dont want chrome again, just paint and polished rims. Cheers.

Took my Z to MJP in Brentwood to have my driver's side window electrics fixed, and also have the car checked over and serviced. He sorted it all out in one night like he said he would, all at a price that I found more than reasonable... and what a top bloke he was too! I recommend him to anyone, especially if you're looking for a Zed specialist in the London area. Thanks alot Mike!

Hi all, I thought i'd post this thread, just in-case this has happened to someone else, or is another common problem and before I start stripping it all to bits. I flashed my main beam at a guy who let me pull out yesterday, and now the main beam is constantly on when I switch the lights on. I am assuming the switch inside the indicator/main beam stalk has bust, or is there a relay or something elsewhere? Has this happened to you? If it is the switch bust, does anyone out there have a unit for sale?? Look forward to hearing your replies, Chris.

Well i've just gone down to the Zed... the batt is completely dead????? i only went out earlier.....hmmmm ~I've just come down and a little worried that some chavs are setting the alaram off on purpose trying to flatten the batt to nick it....... i've only been here 2 days adn dont knowanyone well enought to knock on there door, specially to let them know the batt is dead and the alarms not working!!! Anybody in my local area(London E1.. whitechapel), got a jumper thing, that they can pop round to me, or a car and a set of jump leads, all my stuff is in the garage at my old house and well things anit exactly great which is why me and thet Zed are here... any way long…

Thinking of getting some prosport gauges as theyre the closest to defi without the extreme costs.....but i want the centre dash pods which i cant find Any help will be great Fas

I bought a plenum and throttle bodies last night with the intention of polishing them and fitting them. One problem: the throttle bodies were stripped to bits with the intention of having them polishing professionally. Is there a guide anywhere on how to rebuild them?

Hi All, Where is everybody buying their service parts from. Mines due and I was hoping that some of you might know some good places to buy filters, plugs, oil, belts etc. etc. I'm not sure which oil to use for the engine, gearbox and diff either. If anyone has any advice, great. Cheers.

Hi all. I have a load of very light scratches all over my paintwork. Looks like it's just in the lacquer. Looks like someone has washed the car previously in a carwash or sommat. What's the best way of getting these out? And what is the best make of whatever produst I could use? I don't have a buffer and I currently use Autoglym Super Resin Polish and that just seems to clean the paintwork but not remove the scratches? Ivan

Hi, Don't know if I am on the right track here but I noticed on my car suffered from hesitation/stumbling after it had been parked up after rain. I had my suspicions and thought that the seal between the headlight panel and the front bumper wasn't up to the job. I wet the panel and noticed the apexi filter was wet when I took the headlight panel off, as it sits directly below that seal. Might try and rig up a temp seal to deflect water off and see how it goes!
