ok reading this http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.raceandroad.com/images/ns-offsetexplained.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.raceandroad.com/offset.asp&h=121&w=96&sz=25&tbnid=47AWcxVrF8gJ:&tbnh=121&tbnw=96&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwheel%2Boffset&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=1&ct=image&cd=1 offset is measured in mm. so therefore the wider/narrower the wheel offset being same the wheel position will be different as offset is measured from centre point of wheel positive or negative so what effects will this have ?

I am thinking about buying a set of 18" alloys and have seen a set I like but, like all new alloys (I think) they are all the same width, in this case '8J'. What effect will this have on driving the Zed? What are the widths of the standard Zed UK wheels? Is it possible to buy new alloys with rears wider than fronts? The ones I have seen are 'BSA 359' (I really like the style and the price is good), does anyone know if they are any good? Got any other comments or advice?

Right, the old stereo I had was a JVC double din 2stacker. Wiring isn't a mess, it's very tidy, but I can't make head nor tail of it. I am considering chopping all of it out as I'm running new cables anyway and want to save some space behind, so will put bullet connectors on the new wires and bullet connectors on the ISO loom that comes with my new Alpine head unit. Unfortunately, it looks like this...what's that grey thing? I can't find any reference to it in the manual. So all I'll need is a live feed? Do I need an ignition feed too? What point do I spur this off at? Oh, I also need to earth the headunit out, which is straight forward. The electric areal…

Wife spotted a grey 300zx in Taunton yesterday. She said it had standard looking rear lights, that lit up "round" when they came on  However, despite her being around these cars for 4 or so years now, and even owning one for a year herself....she may be completely mistaken !! Last week she told me she had seen one go past us on the motorway as I was joining the slip road but I didn't spot it......so I raced ahead for a good 15 mins at a brisk pace before finally catching up to the.......GTO :slap:

Can anyone recommend what size tubing to use for an exhaust manifold both wall thickness and internal diameter. I don't think it will be stainless so might see if powder coating will cope with temperature.

Hi, After such a good response to my main beam issue (which sorted the problem, cheers again!), I wonder if you guys can help me out with the cruise control. On my 1993 TT Auto - Import, the cruise control does not work. The green light comes on to say its activated, but I cannot set cruise. I have read bits and bobs from different websites, but you lot on here know your stuff! I've read about switches on the brake pedal going, connections in the steering wheel, one site even said there was an error code that you can make flash on the cruise control light? Has anyone fixed this on a TT Auto - Import before? Is there a logical approach to it? M…

I have an annoying water leak on the passenger side which is now really boiling my p@@s. I have checked all the targa drain tubes and all are OK. There is no obvious sign of water leaking around the glass. There is no water loss from the engine via the heater matrix etc., and the heater works well. Could water be coming in via the air vent situated just in front of the windscreen. Where does the water get vented out from this area ? The car is now coming up together nicely but something I just cannot stand is wet carpets, I have had enough of that decades ago with older type cars when that sort of thing was quite common.
