Rear disks are about shot at on my car. Badly pock marked/scarred and quite worn so im thinking of replacing them. Whats the best to go for, still using standard rear calipers. Ive not an unlimited budget, but i dont mind spending the money if its worth it. This is inline with a brake system overall, rebuilt calipers, new front disks and pads, and new rear pads at least and braided brake lines all round. So i need advice on the best Rear Disks + Pads to go for. I was thinking new standard disks and mintex pads, seem to be available for about £25 for the rear? Or should i not bother and find something better. Cheers Guys!

Hi all, Tongiht I decided to leave work a little early to go from Sunderland to Hartlepool for a basketball game. All was fine apart from the dcrappy weather (which you get used to) Anyway I was travelling down the A19 which is a 70mph dual carraige way up here when my bike just seemed to simply die on me, then it seemed to kick about it for a second then die again (think the engine might have seized). Then at the same time my back wheel locked up (still not sure why) and then there was nothing i could do. I don't even ride really quick or anything. Anyway to cut this bit short I came off. Surprisingly im not hurt at all, i have been very lucky as the bike went a…

as ive now got 2 zeds, i only have space for one, so this is based on my 91 Jap TT auto. The car is a totally complete and working, the only thing is it has an air lock in the cooling, which leads me to think it has a very slight head gasket issue. do i spend money on it to fix it, at the worst its a new h/gasket, but this will cost a bit, only to sell for a bit more or do i break? as all parts are working, it has everything that it was supplied with, e.g. targas, covers, tool kit etc, the only thing thats missing is the fire extinguisher. I will be keeping the odd bits to swap onto my UK TT manual, but they will be then be put onto the jap. 2 owners (me and the…

Does anyone happen to know the spec for the 2fast2cool rear camber arm rose joints? need the thread size thread direction and joint bore. Ive seen a shop on ebay who sell only rose joints they look high quality and they have whichever size you need. I want to replace the ones at the mo as they are too small and will probably develope alot of play in the future as i have to keep greasing them.. check this lot out. http://search.stores.ebay.co.uk/Mc-Gill-Motorsports_rose-joints_W0QQfciZQ2d1QQfclZ4QQfsnZMcQ20GillQ20MotorsportsQQfsooZ1QQfsopZ3QQsaselZ222097034QQsofpZ0

  13. Recently (OK about a year ago LOL) I removed a mechanical oil pressure gauge and fitted and electronic one. Can I use the mechanical gauge to monitor fuel pressure ? I have no idea what the fuel pressure is but I think the mechanical gauge goes up to 100PSI. Could I fit under the bonnet somewhere and what would be involved ? CheerZ Paul

i stupidly managed to fumble the nail i keep in the ashtray into the open cigar lighter hole. Much sparks and smelly fumes later there appears to be no power to it. I checked the 20A fuse labelled CIG LIGHTER in the drivers footwell and that is fine so has it blown a seperate fuse or done some other damage?? How can i fix it? i find it quite useful for juicing up the mobile now and again.

I live on a small street with terraced houses and it is parking permit area only. Problem is, gits that are using the high street park here anyway so I have to park on double yellow lines! Is there a way of parking (eg with wheels on full lock) so they cant clamp a car? I heard they can only clamp drivers side, or front wheels?

ok reading this http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.raceandroad.com/images/ns-offsetexplained.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.raceandroad.com/offset.asp&h=121&w=96&sz=25&tbnid=47AWcxVrF8gJ:&tbnh=121&tbnw=96&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwheel%2Boffset&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=1&ct=image&cd=1 offset is measured in mm. so therefore the wider/narrower the wheel offset being same the wheel position will be different as offset is measured from centre point of wheel positive or negative so what effects will this have ?

I am thinking about buying a set of 18" alloys and have seen a set I like but, like all new alloys (I think) they are all the same width, in this case '8J'. What effect will this have on driving the Zed? What are the widths of the standard Zed UK wheels? Is it possible to buy new alloys with rears wider than fronts? The ones I have seen are 'BSA 359' (I really like the style and the price is good), does anyone know if they are any good? Got any other comments or advice?

Right, the old stereo I had was a JVC double din 2stacker. Wiring isn't a mess, it's very tidy, but I can't make head nor tail of it. I am considering chopping all of it out as I'm running new cables anyway and want to save some space behind, so will put bullet connectors on the new wires and bullet connectors on the ISO loom that comes with my new Alpine head unit. Unfortunately, it looks like this...what's that grey thing? I can't find any reference to it in the manual. So all I'll need is a live feed? Do I need an ignition feed too? What point do I spur this off at? Oh, I also need to earth the headunit out, which is straight forward. The electric areal…
