Theres always been a small amount of slack in my drive train but recently it seams to make a knocking noise when coming off and on the throttle in gear. I tend to keep it locked in 2nd most of the time as i'm always driving in London at the moment and need the revs to be in the right place. Could this be damaging it? Could it be the Torque convertor as it's locked up in 2nd and 1st gear isn't it?? Gonna have a look at it this weekend.

I partly asked this in an earlier post but never really got an answer. My subframe bushes were leaking badly so as a quick fix I got a set of the locking collars from Z1 to disguise it and hopefully lock the subframe down. I'm still getting a strange side to side wriggle when powering out of long corners and can't decide if it's a subframe problem or the rear suspension that's shot. I've tried pulling on the rear wheels and their doesn't seem to be any play. The HICAS has been completely removed. Does anybody know if these locking collars will completely clamp the subframe in position even with knackered bushes? I don't know if they are just designed to …

Does anyone remember whether the fluorescent display inside the climate control pod has its own display drive circuitry or if it's part of the climate control ECU near the heater matrix? Mine has gone very dull and there's no point in me changing the pod if the fault is inside the ECU itself. Cheers.

Does anyone know how to tell an original greddy from a fake apart from the logo on the silicone hoses? Are greddy intercoolers stamped like koyo rads? Cheers for any help in advance! Andy

Got some rims which are being refurbished as we speak, should be back with me in about 10 days. I'm going to shod them with 4 new treads but what sizes to go for? Rims are all 17" - Fronts 8J and the Rears 9.5J Currently the Rears have 255/40/17 Fronts have 235/45/17 However what's the ideal tyre size to go on them? I have standard Jspec rims at the moment with what I believe to be the correct tyre sizes 225/50/16). I am guessing that the speedo is calibrated to this so I should get as close a match as possible on a tyre calculator thing. cheers jay

Had a bad day at work, went for a nice a drive in the Zed, tops off, plenty of fuel to play with and just me and my lady (fair that is) After a while of a bit of playing, started to look at other cars, and have decided, that the 300zx is a seriously sexy car, not just the power, but the shape and smoothness of it, and what it has to offer. other cars dont come close, fine keep your Italian red ones, or german stuff, but there is nothing that turns heads by people who are the not knowing or these animals. They are gorgeous:bow:
