I've been a member and trading on the forum for 10 years now. My traders status appears to have been taken away with no warning, for no apparent reason. Maybe to do with fees, but not to worry. Thank-you to anyone that has purchased parts from me over the years. I owe a lot to the forum for helping me start my car parts business. I will continue to sell parts for the 300ZX, but not on this forum. The nature of the business (and this forum) has unfortunately changed over the years (I'm sure this post will be sensored very quickly), but I have nothing bad to say about its members. You will always see me on ebay (Andy300z) if you need anything. Its sad to say go…

ok been out in the pouring rain checking connectors etc, ran a diagnostic on the box and came up with: 3 - Throttle Sensor Circuit is Short Circuited or Disconnected. 4 - Shift Solenoid A is Short Circuited or Disconnected. 6 - Overrun Clutch Solenoid is Short Circuited or Disconnected. 7 - Lock up solenoid is Short Circuited or Disconnected. 10 - line pressure solenoid is Short Circuited or Disconnected. this mean box is screwed ?

Hi all, My Z failed its MOT last week on excessive play in the N/S HICAS ball joint. I was not happy with the decision as I had that one replaced last year following an "advisory" They also gave me an advisory on the O/S one. Anyway, I took the car to another testing station and they reckon it is the inner joint this time - the one that goes into the rack. I have bought replacement parts from MJP and left the car at the (second) garage to get it fixed but unfortunately they could not do it. They could not get the ball joint end out of the rack; not wanting to force it or do damage they were honest and admitted defeat after a couple of hours. Incidentally …

I have never been a fan of these things TBH. I much prefer the idea of the slick top and as a result have been wondering if these can be replaced with painted sheet metal or even carbon fibre? Has anyone ever converted the lids for a more permanent item or... can they be painted? I would imagine paint would have a job sticking to glass.

I was in Southampton yesterday to attend a funeral and whilst driving on the A335/Stoneham Way (just off J5/M27) at around 1pm I saw a yellow ZX pass by. The car had a high spoiler and "300ZX" in large black lettering across the rear centre panel. You wouldn't have seen me because I was driving my Jeep Grand Cherokee and turned off towards Bassets Green Village. Just wondering if it was anyone on here. Dan

Hi all, sorry about this one! I really can't find good info on this anywhere... I'm refitting the gearbox (manual) and ready to slip the smaller dust plate between gearbox and engine. I need to know how this plate should be oriented. Does the rubber 'seal' point towards the box or the engine?? My other question is does it fit on the gearbox side or the engine side of the larger dust plates (that sit behind the flywheel). My larger dust plates look as though they are deformed to allow the smaller plate to fit behind them (engine side) but this contradicts what I have read so far... Advice greatly appreciated. RobH

I'm in the process of upgrading my brakes and some of my front suspension on my 91 SWB N/A. When taking off the upper arms I noticed that both are (as the middle arm in the picture shows) cranked over. However I dug out a spare upper arm I had as part of some other 2nd hand stuff I bought and it was straight (Left arm in the picture). By twisting the Powertrix adjustable arm around it kind of lines up with the original arm (centre) but is this OK to use like this? I have done some searching on this and other 300ZX sites to little avail, I could be using incorrect terminology or I could just be being daft, either way some assistance/advice would be appreciated. O…

I have noticed a few problems. 1. Head lights: Only main beam comes on even when in low beam position the high beam is only on. 2. No speedo: Does not work at all. (could be related to 4.) 3. Stereo back up: Wont hold settings in memory. 4 Power steering goes heavy quite often: (already asked about this). 5 Turbo Timer: Not working. (Going to get a new item soon) 6. Air con: Only comes out hot. I have been told that the bloke who had it, from which I got it back had a flat battery and put the jump leads on the wrong way round? But he deny's this and has said that some wet got up behind the fuse panel and he had an electrician sort it ou…

I feel like a newbie again, so I'll act like one! I had a UK Twin Turbo a couple of years back and loved it, then power got to me and I sold it for a Mine's Tuned R32 GTR... well thats now sold and gone over to Sweden, so I thought I best find a nice manual 300zx TT to replace it with... :) After weeks of trawling through Pistonheads, eBay, this forum... I found one pop up - black import, manual, basic mods - and thought I best act quick. Picked it up on saturday and I'm well impressed with it. Goes better than the last one I had (down to the colour I hear :wack: ) and although it won't touch the GTR in the performance stakes, I think the Zs are far comfier and …

I took my new z tt to work today+ dawdling through 30mph traffic, it started to smell of petrol. Theres nowhere to pull in so, so i stopped ques of cars to check+ saw a 'wet' fuel line, i just kept tootling along with crossed fingers.bloody misery! In desperation, i called the aa from work, who duly came out + fixed it........but broke an injector wire at the same time  So home on 5, 3 hours of fiddling+ headsratching, morepain+ misery. Then whooom.I've fixed her+ Its off on 6, burbling, spinning the wheels + making that glorious sound.:hyper: Funny how i instantly forgot the burnt arms, cut fingers, scratched wrists+ would do it all again tomorrow

Every time I do a job lately on my Z I seem to find more rust. (Its a UK 1990 TT). I have just been fitting an amp power lead through the bung in the front passanger side wheel arch and a hole had already rusted through at the bottom below the bung. When I took my spoiler off I found huge holes where the hatch had rusted away in the corners. The reason for this post is I have noticed a couple of na jap cars with damaged engines going for £500 - £600 lately, I am considering buying one of these with a good jap body and fitting my TT engine as I have sorted it out and it is running really well. How long would it take to convert a na to TT, would I need any special t…
