Ok, Phil has looked at the car and found that the oil leak is actually coming from the oil return from oil of the turbos. There was no oil in the clutch at all and has just burnt away because it is crap, gone all the way to the rivets too which means it has also damaged the flywheel so looks like a faults part or whatever. This is the clutch I have got, http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=1837 Says it is good for 550 ft lbs of torque!!!! What do you all think of this??? Bare in mind its only been in the car for around 2 months or less?

May seem like a stupid question, but I want to be sure and understand fully. I have the engine fully striped ready to go off and have the work done by a engineering company. Just want to know if some of the things listed is a must to be done. I apologise if they seem like stupid questions, but I'm trying to learn as much as possible and to do most of the work myself. Skimmed block? Clear castings flasings from block (that's a must) Block bored/ honed (that's a must) Crank balanced? Knife edged crank? Skim heads (guess that's a must) Anything I've missed for the engine shop to do? Does anyone know of any decent engineers near to me in the…

YAY! Only just though, realized last night I had been driving the car about since the 4th April with no mot :O I read it wrong and thought it was the 14th lol. Pass apart from a large imbalance in the brakes which is only just within limit. Good job i've got all the bits ordered for the brake upgrade.

Well as I few of u may have seen my clutch has gone. Once we have been under the car it appears it has a nasty oil leak. By the looks and sounds of things the oil has ran in to the clutch causing it to slip and burn out. I can't believe it. Still haven't ran the engine in fully yet and iv been taking it easy. I'm gutted. Going to call phil in the morning to see if he will fix it. Only had it back 2 months :(

Coming home tonight and I over took someone and as I went to change gear I heard a crunching noise and found it difficult to engage a gear. Finally got it in gear but everytime the gear engaged it made a funny noice and seemed to jurk a bit. It still went though. Just gone out to see if it was OK. Put it in 1st and pulled away but when I engaged 2nd gear and released the clutch, nothing  I had to coast down the road to park up. Now it will go into gear OK but when I release the clutch it won't go anywhere. Any ideas ?

  21. Hi, As the title says i've been trying to find my perfect alloys for my Z for what seems like an eternity. All i want is some plain 18" 5 spoke wheels without any of the flares or twiddely bits or fake allen bolts that seem to be on every other wheel out there. Going on an earlier thread by FunkySi i was thinking of getting a slight stagger with the fronts being 8.5" wide and the rears being 9.5" wide. I assumed that as 5 spoke's seem to be the most common alloy's about i'd have no problems finding some, but almost all the wheels on the many, many websites i've looked at are way too over designed with all the plain 5 spokes being too small or too narrow. I'…

Couple of gearbox related questions for you. I have a manual NA. If i fit a TT engine i will need to buy a TT clutch and flywheel. Are there any other changes needed or will this all go together no probs? Also, i have a one piece Z1 propshaft. If i change to a TT gearbox, will the propshaft still fit? Cheers
