Ummm...think someone needs to pull out the little book from oxford and see what the definition is; http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/1992-NISSAN-300ZX-TWIN-TURBO-FAIRLADY-TARGA-/122427858025?hash=item1c8144dc69%3Ag%3A98sAAOSwmgJY4QBL&_trkparms=pageci%253A2cfcf07c-1bc9-11e7-8863-74dbd1805f6a%257Cparentrq%253A49e8e52215b0a6a8d0d18164fffec609%257Ciid%253A5

hi Guys, im fixing a crack on my bumper and have done the fibre glass on the back but was wondering what type of filler to use on the front, as well as on other defects (now i've cleaned off the non hardened plastic filler.) The reason i ask is that while sanding back, the existing filler used on top of the grp/gelcoat whatever you call it, resembles the std filler used on solid structures, P38/Upol/bondo etc. i mean the plastic filler is pricey and the P38 type is not. Opinions please.

  8. Hi all, About 6 months ago i bought a second hand race logic traction control system and i am looking to get it installed/install it. The harness appears to be in good condition, with minimal cutting in its removal by the previous owner bar a few wires, and a full write up is available on how to install the unit but the only issue i have is not being 100% sure that the harness is as it should be and with my lack of electrical knowledge i thus would not want to self-install without assurance it is all as it should be and then can follow the guide easily.. Ive tried to find complete wiring diagrams to follow to make sure everything is as should be but cannot find mu…

  9. Who's successfully re-trimmed their interior rear quarter panels (the upper parts that go saggy)? I'm looking to do mine and took it to my local trim shop as I figured they'd be able to match the vinyl and fit it correctly with heat and the correct adhesive. Alas, no, they advised that the material and manufacture technique would mean that they'd not be able to get the right match or fitment and showed me some swatches. The stuff they use is proper seat vinyl which is about half a MM thick and would not cover correctly and the grain wouldn't match nor the colour. Has anyone successfully done this? Mine need doing, they're not terrible, but they're not great. I w…

Hi all, Have a coolant leak behind engine. I can see where its from, its from a 1/4 inch metal pipe that goes through a 90 degree bend and joins a 1/2 inch metal pipe. Its underneath the two electrical connectors that unclip, about 5 inches below. Theres a pin hole right on the 90 degree elbow. Didnt leak to start with, but had idling on the drive for 10 minutes, switched it off and water was spurting out. I can see on the 1/4 inch side it goes into a rubber hose, so thats easy to come off. However the 1/2 inch pipe dissapears, one side to behind drivers side head, the other side disapears down towards the ground. Question I have is how easy is it to rep…

  14. I have my old purple painted rocker covers from my previous build which I was planning on doing a transplant onto the new engine. However not wanting to taint the new engine I was thinking of stripping and using the covers that came with the engine. One of the things that came up is to blast them or not as I've been told that the inner baffles can get the sand in them and its hard to get out. The previous zed was done like this but I don't want this new engine busted too. I have the blasting cabinet in my yard and its easy enough to use but should I ? I've could also blast it with soda but that's expensive and can take three times as long. …

Hello. Trying to track down the cure for a rattle type of noise that tends to be when cold and low revs. Cambelt, pulleys done 2 years ago at Eurospec. When I first heard the noise, I thought it was a small exhaust blow but it's not that. Eurospec have stripped the front and had another good look at pulleys, timing belt, tensioners etc and they're fine. They suspect the VVT solenoids or gears. A bit of research leads to this https://z32.wikispaces.com/Variable+Timing+Control#Function-ECU Control-Non-Turbo which seems to point to the gears (if it happens when cold, the solenoids wouldn't need to operate anyway). Has anyone had this issue and if so, what was the cure? …

Ok, here's a question: if I were to sell my Zed, would it be worth more in its present trim, or if I returned it back to standard spec...? By "standard spec," I mean a stock interior, wheels and brakes. The exhaust would be far too much of a chew on to change back, so that would stay on the car. Opinions please...

Decided this morning (after a restless night) to finish sanding my rear bumper and put some plastic bumper filler on the worst depressions, As you can see from the picture all went well. So This afternoon i get my sandpaper and start rubbing, only to discover i had forgotten to add the hardener..... DOH!! Words fail me...

  23. "It doesn't look too bad at the rear, I'll just replace this repair panel whilst I'm here and the fuel tank is out" More of an informative post but this looks like what can happen when you repair the rear sills without extending/replacing the targa roof drain. These were welded in 2011, and the car has done 1000 miles since then before my purchase as a project. Anyone else experienced this and have any advice? Was thinking of cutting a peep hole into the new metal I use for future purposes, such as with the front sills, thoughts? So I saw this panel, small hole near the subframe supports, cut it off.. Camera inside it: Could rip t…

Hopefully, in the not too distant future, I hope to fit a third brake light to my rear spoiler. I have a 1992 uk lwb twin turbo which came with only a colour coded blank. Will I find the relevant wiring harness within the boot lid that will allow me to connect directly to? Or will I have to splice into the existing harness somewhere?
