Hi everyone, I haven't posted since last year as the next post was to be number 10K so wanted to make a thread. Anyway, felt it was time to make a return. Most of you are probably on Facebook anyway so may have seen me on there. Anyway, a bit of an update. Black Zed Following the knock it had, I put everything back together but made the choice to buy a new shell as it felt like the all round best, and safest option. The welding it needed meant the engine would have had to come out etc anyway. So I bought a very low mileage car which many will know as NED the ZED. Note the name won't be sticking!!! The car only has like 54k miles on it. Rust free etc…

So I followed this - http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/detonationSensor/detonationSensor.html I tested the sensor side of the connector and my meter showed '1', which was the default display on my meter when selecting the ohm settings. There was no movement, nothing, as if I wasn't testing anything. Doing the same ECU side of the connector, I was getting 560 Ohm, which I believe is ok, what I should be getting. Then I stuck a 1k resistor in the ECU side of my connector, I started her up and lo and behold she ran far better, revved without stumbling or miss-firing, super smooth compared to before! However below 1000rpm wasn't good, without providing gas th…

I've inadvertently mis-threaded a spark plug, thought it was in further than it was :censored: How do I recover from this act of stupidity? It is only the top two threads - I think. That'll teach me to be more careful!

My silver tt has developed quite a coolant leak following a spirited drive. It seems to be coming from the underside of the plenum at the left hand side at the back corner. I can see a rubber hose which appears to be the place where the leak is coming from. The question is, do I need to remove the plenum to change it?

Hi All, I've fully deleted the HICAS but just wondering from those that have done the same, where have you neatly put the following: Because of the way that the pipes route, it doesn't want to lay flat easily, I'm assuming most people make some sort of bracket to secure it to existing solenoid mount? Any opinions or pictures from others would be appreciated. Cheers James

As downpipes seem very very hard to find and I have a set in bad condition and incomplete, I think I'll use the flanges and re-do the pipes. I'll need help so I can get the 2 missing parts fabricated. If anyone could be so kind and post a picture or a draw with the measurements and depth of the following part:

Am I right in thinking I cannot reuse the locking washers/collars that fit around the Japspeed front inner tie rods? Since there is now a 4-5mm spacer, the washer doesn't seem to collapse back over the new tie rods.. Do they become obselete? Thanks

The time has come, unfortunately, to say goodbye to my precious Zed :( (can't fit three children in the back...) Not having been on here for a few years now, I'm rather out of touch with the current Zed market prices and wonder what people's honest opinions are on how much I should be asking? Realise you can't say much without seeing it in the flesh, but any guidance would be appreciated. The car is a 1993 UK LWB Manual Twin Turbo. Notable features: genuine '99 spec' front bumper and rear lights, fibreglass replica '99 spec' rear spoiler, polished OEM wheels, Mongoose quad exit cat back exhaust, black 'tweed' interior in excellent condition, original blin…

So after two years of fettling I finally mot'd my zed yesterday, passed with flying colours. After about 15 minutes of sustaining a cheek acheing toothy grin the effing rad popped on the way home.. Serious kick in the balls and the grin. Been searching around and can't find an N.A. radiator anywhere except concept z in the US. Anyone know where best to buy? Also wondering why it might have popped? It popped at the plastic at the top. Rad cap is a bit crappy..

I am contemplating purchasing these... https://www.z1motorsports.com/z1-products/z1-motorsports/z1-25-bolt-stainless-steel-downpipes-p-2958.html Can I ask for people's opinions please? Not sure if they are a bit limited with regards to power enhancements in the future. As things stand, I intend to stick with stock turbos and just enhance their performance further down the line. ie raising boost and improving induction etc. Just do not want to end up with them being a limiting factor that's all. Would appreciate it if you would share your thoughts guys, even if it means an alternative downpipe design/manufacture. Thanks in advance...

Long story short. I bought a red import 1990 LWB TT with a manual gearbox last winter from a chap in Oxfordshire, as a replacement project. The car is in reasonable nick so ideal for being the next project or so I thought. It ran smoothly engine wise, had 120k kilometers (70-80k miles), unmolested (no after market parts bar an exhaust (poss Scott&Hayward), and body wise had zero rust. The only thing it was missing was any paperwork. So, I paid the chap to get the paperwork sorted (IVA and V5) on top of the price I paid for the car and thought I had bought a good base for a project. Then he moved to Germany. After five months of hassling him I managed to get the …

The rear cilinders from my hatch are weak and don't hold up the hatch anymore. New ones cost a fortune, but a car shop near me can re-fill them, they only need to know how much pressure they must have. Does anyone know this? It's for a 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo.
