Hi everyone, been browsing the site now on and off for a few months whilst waiting for a decent UK, Manual, TT Z to show up and have found the community to be very helpful. I hope I can be a good member too! After reading everyone's comments, I was happy to see the following appear on PistonHeads: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2366831.htm Just wondering if anyone can see any newbie mistakes I might be making in purchasing this? Obviously I need to go see it (bout an hours travel) but it appears to have been treated well. All the work (ecu & turbo upgrade, engine and cambelt replacement) has apparently been carried out at Z World (I'll obviously …

Hi, my name is Nettie and i am thinking of buying a 300ZX, but at present the one i am interested in, is in a workshop having an engine re-build as the previous owner cooked it! I have had several high performance cars including Lexus Soarer 4ltr v8 Ltd, 2 R33 skylines an n/a and a Turbo, 2 Supra's a MK3 and MK4, plus an Evo 4, to name a few. I am a right petrol head, but it helps having a good performance garage near by!

Hi there, I'm now the proud owner of a Red Import 1995 non turbo 300zx!! Great car, loving it so far. I've owned a 1990 Honda prelude for the past 6 years but felt I deserved something a little better! I'm based in south London and would love to here any advice about the best people down this way to look after the car mechanically? Also It has old Japanese tyres on it, they're cracking slightly and has wear on the front inside of the tyres (tracking, Camber issues?) Should I get this sorted when I get new tyres? At the mo I have 235/45/17 on the front and 255/40/17 on the rear. Should I just replace these tyre sizes exactly with Falkens? Any advice w…

Picked her up today... Looks like I'll have to get a new Toad certificate and there's a need for some headlight wiring...god knows what's going on there...oh and the map reading lights don't work. The car obviously was a members car in the past, anyone recognise her?

Hi lads, Currently the owner of a 1995 MR2 N/A import. Some day though, I hope to get my hands on a 300ZX. Beautiful cars. Shitty economy I'd imagine - probably make the MR2 look cheap to run - but who cares? Anyone else up here in Scotland?

Hi,everyone bought a 91 UK tt manual in white paid 1500 for it as a buy it now on ebay, it had rebuilt stage 1 turbos and mongoose exhaust and wolfrace shark alloys but no mot. So i thought it might be worth a punt,I have since spent a further 1500 getting it up to scratch, including sills welded and skirts fitted and back wings resprayed and fresh mot.i had a 300zx auto about 12 yrs ago when i worked in a warehouse, i loved it, it was mint, my work colleages thought it was amazing and thought i must be selling drugs to afford a car like that. I have gone a full circle owning lots of nice cars over the years, including a 3000gt tt Bmw,s Tvr chimeara, but i find it amazing…

Hi I'm adam I'm 21 from sussex, I've been on this forum for a fair bit of time now in terms of when i registered, anyway, i'm currently part of ffoc (ford focus owners club) and i Love my focus, don't get me wrong, its a great chassis and has very good potential, the plan was to do a cosworth rwd conversion, but that will take alot of time and money and also increases the % of something going wrong....:( I Absolutely see potential in a 300zx and i have always loved them, but 3.0 V6 TT.....i'm 21 and i don't think i'd get insured. The BIG issue for e is that by the time i'm old enough to get one in 4 -5 years, they will become rare and fade out.....that would rea…

Firstly id like to say hi to everybody! I finally bit the bullet and brought a 300zx, this is my first jap car and certainly away from my normal cars (air cooled beetles). Friday i purchased a 1990 300zx TT tagra uk-spec manual with just over 100k on the clock. This is by no means a perfect car current problems include:- -Buckled alloy- ordered zedworld -Warped discs- Full disc n pad change on order -o/s/r shock leaking- will replace both rear/ or fit coilovers -possibly rear bushes worn as car has a very sloppy rear end. -Warning lamp for Hicas currently displaying not really to sure about this my undrstanding is this is to do with the 4wheel steer system …

Hi all I'm a newbie  I'm off tomorrow to hopefully buy my first Zed. Just hope its as good as it looks! Can anyone advise if there is a decent garage in the Wiltshire area? Also are Adrian Flux the best to go to for insurance? Ive heard that I should be able to get classic car cover on a 92yr, is this true? Cheers, Chris.

Hey all, Hoping to join the Zed club soon and currently looking at a nice 92 300zx non turbo 2+2. I have a quick question though, I did an insurance comparison through confused.com and entered the reg from the pic of the car on ebay and it comes up as a Twin Turbo! The advert description specifically states its non turbo, so not just a listing error. Is this common, or is it possible maybe the turbos have been removed or another engine put in. I imagine that if confused.com thinks its a twin turbo then that's what's on the V5? I can manually select a non turbo, but surely it should know from the reg... Thanks! Paul

Hi everyone, new here! Just purchased a 1990 300ZX, normally aspirated, manual, in pearlescent white. She's an import and has had quite a lot of cosmetic work recently done (new front spoiler, rear valance, resprayed, undersealed, refurbished gun metal grey allloys, new leather front seats, new black and white interior, new carpets, steering wheel, gearknob etc etc). This is my first ZX though I've thought about getting one for ages. Not new to Japanese motors though, having owned 4 x Preludes (I love 'em!) Had one third gen, and three fourth gens (two 2.0 and one 2.2 VTEC that was heavily modified). Pictures will be posted when I get some taken....... …
