Hi all...just joined the forum....as I think I am hankering after a 300zx!....I have spent ages trying to decide if I liked the looks or not...and to be honest, its pretty stunning...doesn't look dated either...and I love that 80's back end!....only problem now is I already have 3 toys...and no spare room....I have an XJ-S, a 944 S2 and an E30 325I Sport...I might be persuaded to lose one ( or even 2) in order to gain a ZX!...But, for now, I am just going to educate myself a bit more on the cars.....as I am torn between SWB V LWB, auto V manual, standard body V modified....but I think I MUST have a twin turbo...:)

Hi All, Just thought I'd say hi! Got my 1st 300zx tt (auto) about 4 weeks ago now, really love it as it has been a dream car since I first saw one when I was 10 years old lol! The car is beautiful and it turn so many heads. It has however a couple of issues I wondered if anyone can help with: When the weather is dry, the car runs perfect.... when it is damp, tbh its awful! When its damp, it idles at around 1500rpm and changes gears randomly and irratically. I have completed the auto diagnostic check which I found online and it came up with the throttle position sensor. Only issue I've got is I can't find a garage willing to work on the car in the local…

  7. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300ZX-Nismo-twin-turbo-/311316889062?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item487beebde6 Hi Folks The car I was after has popped up again and I'm wondering if I could ask you for some help and advice on it please. The car looks great in the pictures but has come back on an HPI check as declared "Cat D Vehicle Damaged" in 1998. It does shout off the page at me (mainly saying "buy me buy me") I just wondered what the consensus of opinion is as to how much it is worth. And also if anyone knows the car any further info would be great. Any help will be greatly appreciated and exchanged for beers at a subsequent when I finall…

Hi All, I'm interested in owning a 300zx, prefer a near to stock manual twin-turbo. I really like the 300zx, great styling and engine note. Was wondering if there are any Z meets or Z owners nearby that would be willing to meet up and show me their Zs. Would be great to have a walkaround so I can get a feel for what to look for when buying. I'm keen on doing my own maintainence, and love cars. My first car was an old skool Ford, and currently have a V8 5-series for fun. I'm based in the South East in Hertfordshire, just North of London. Cheers

Hi. I was a member in 2007 when I owned a TT LWB model which eventually blew an engine, and I sold on after getting her fixed. Since then I have owned a 350z, but my passion for the 300 has never dwindled and I always find myself trawling through the ads and on Ebay. My view is that appear to be not many decent original vehicles for sale, and with that in mind I decided to have a look in Japan. To cut a long story short I am in the process of getting not one but two over. Low mileage near mint vehicles. My reason for rejoining the forum was to see if there was a need out there for such vehicles from the members, and with that in mind I aim to offer at least one of these …

hi, finally have my own 300zx after being around them for the last 22 years, some of you may recognise it as the slicktop for sale on ebay about a month or so ago, but it was actually mike feeney who had it at his house and was helping a friend sell it, i did see the post about it on here having been slammed and rusty and rubbish paint which did put me off but mike did say he couldnt see any rust and i took his word for it and drove 4 hours to london and i to couldnt find any rust either spent a few hours at mikes and drove it home, also i really dont like the standard wheels so if anyone has any they are selling i would be interested i would like 18 inch with a dish but …

Not a newbie as such...but I've had my 300zx back after it has been stored at a friends garage for 3 and a half years so I'm getting back into the swing of things with it. The story goes that it was originally driven up to my friends garage as it needed welding and a respray and also because he said I could use his ramp and tools to get the engine out and turbos off for refurbishment. The engine has been out, clutch upgraded to a 5 puck ceramic new one, flywheel upgraded to a lightened new one, new exhaust manifiolds, and the turbos upgraded plus other mods that I can't remember all of off the top of my head such as the plenum water bypass. The welding and respray ha…

Hi guys, after nearly 5 years and 1 recession, I've decided to reignite my love for all things Z. I still have the car and a lot of nice parts, so I figured I'd have another crack at rebuilding it to its former glory. It will take time and money so bear with me ?. I've had a look on here from time to time and it's nice to see there's still plenty of names I recognise, and a few new ones also. This was always a great spot for help, advice and general banter. Living with a Zed in Ireland is always challenging but here goes ? Anyways..... How's it going ?? ? Richie

Hi guys just got myself a 300zx non turbo in red after 4 wasted years on a Triumph Stag. Its not in perfect shape, however there aint much wrong with it, leaky targa and passenger electric window dont work and that seems to be it (so far). regards Sean

  19. Hello all, I tend to do long rambling posts, so please bear with me! I've just signed up as I have been thinking about scratching my 300ZX itch from when I first played Gran Turismo all those years ago! I have had some pretty awesome cars and some pretty terrible ones too, so hoping that taking a lot of time with this one will help me out in securing a good un. I’m planning to change from my current car (big diesel auto) to something abit more involving but still comfortable for the occasionally long journeys to cornwall as I've just got a new job much closer to home and would be planning to use the car as my daily 20mile commute. So when the time comes I ho…

  21. Hi all, some of you know of me already, Adam-Murse and Coldel to mention a couple, but I'm a skyline gtst owner considering trying a z32 300zx. I've had my skyline for nearly 5 years now, bought as I used to have an mr2 turbo but needed rear seats when we started having kids. The skyline was intended to give me something fun that I could still enjoy, but I've never had the budget to make it particularly quick. I've been considering a change for a while now, and the car had been absolutely faultless throughout, until the head gasket popped last weekend. Not bad for a 22 year old car with 107,000 miles on it I guess, but now I can't decide whether to fix it or use it a…

Hello, My name is Rob (43) from Dorset and I have just bought a 300 ZX Z31 (NA) Auto.It has 100k on the clock but you wouldn't think so looking at her. Even though she's an 87, the bodywork and interior is excellent. This is (in a way) my first car ! Let me explain... I am in a wheelchair and until now have had 9 cars under the motability 3 year lease scheme. So this is the first time I have had a "real" car, one that I am passionate about, instead of one that "fits." I'm not complaining. The Motability scheme is a fantastic thing and I have had many years if happy and importantly care-free motoring. I have always been a petrol-head and motorspo…

Well, its been a while so, I thought I'd drop by and say hi. Ive still got the old girl, although its been off the road since 2010. I decided to turn it into a full blown track car with a modest 4.8 Twin turbo'd chevy V8 hooked up to a 6 speed tremec t56 magnum under the bonnet. Plenty of pics if anyones interested ?

Hi guys. Recently bought myself a low miles 1992 300zx tt manual in silver as I always wanted one years ago but always bought something else instead. Its not too modified, just little bits added, mainly sorting out some minor faults just now whoever worked on it before was no mechanic that's for sure! I also have the 350z as my daily which is great fun. Looks like a great active forum and looking forward to getting involved. Rich
