  1. I banged in the locking collars, so much easier and as Jeff and Jimmer have said, they tighten up the original bushes without being too harsh.:thumbup1:
  2. Just measured the 2 pieces back to back and from the tip to the end measures 1360mm??
  3. I'd seen that buddy, that's where I got my measurements from,:thumbup1: Am I right with my calculations though?? I added the front TT half with the NA rear half plus the yolk?? or do I disregard the yolk and just put the two pieces together and measure with the TT yolk attached??
  4. Am I right in saying that the TT manual front half is 606mm and the NA second half is 539mm and i've to add the length of the NA yolk of 71mm giving a total length of 1216mm, is this the correct length I need between knuckles??
  5. Hey guys, as most of you are aware, I swapped out my TT diff for an NA one. Unfortunately, I got sent a TT flange, I've found someone who will make up a 1 piece propshaft here in Ireland for a reasonable price with a 2-3 hour turnaround. If I bring the TT half and the NA half together with the TT flange on it, is this the correct length?? or is the NA flange longer/shorter/same length as the TT flange?? Thanks
  6. I had a beast of an Evo 8 from '07-'11, 400 odd bhp, it was quite hard on the back and the kids found it sickening in the back seat. I loved the performance of it, you just point and shoot, very snappy acceleration but I couldn't go anywhere too far or I'd have to pull in for the young lad to be sick. The Z has a more refined ride, not as harsh. It will invariably come down to your age and what you want out of it. There's a guy here in town that got one of the last of the STI Hawkeye Impreza's around the time I had the Evo, he's still driving it but I personally think he looks a tad too old (ridiculous) for one now. Here's a couple of not so great pics of my one (pulled from my for sale ad)
  7. There's nothing Grade 4 about that car:thumbdown: you sure that's not a badly scrawled "X" as in "Xtra Ropey" :innocent::whistling::lol:
  8. Welcome to the club Daz:thumbup:
  9. Nice to see your build thread up and running Lee, it was your last build thread that prompted me to do mine. Looking forward to seeing the updates:thumbup:
  10. Doing what bits I can, with my brother and his mate. Don't have the money to be shipping cars to the UK. Good progress made today, going to make a burst at it over the coming week or two, see how we fare out then :thumbup1:
  11. Cool work there buddy:thumbup1: I love seeing how this stuff is actually made.
  12. Well I'm shattered, subframe, Brembo's etc all fitted, having trouble sorting out the TT-NA prop conversion :confused1::confused1: Anyone any ideas in how to mate the front TT half to the rear NA?? Here's a pic of them side by side, the NA is on bottom of pic and is longer than the TT, also pictured is a flange i got with the NA prop?? Pic of the rear brakes and wheels all fitted up Locking collars fitted
  13. All loaded up, ready for the morning:thumbup:
  14. Will be fitting my Twinz rear bumper bud:yes:
  15. Good progress made today:clap: I'm well pleased with my efforts:thumbup: Video of the engine running, after plumbing up a few more pipes. [video=youtube_share;zUZa8iXC4OM]
  16. Going to bin the metal pipes later on Had a look at the exhaust they're close but they're not touching the bumper:thumbup1: Car is now sitting on the lift ready for work at 8am tomorrow :punk:
  17. Ha!! Yeah!! Would've been safer on the feckin actuator:innocent: Got busy and removed the carbon canister and its associated piping:thumbup:
  18. So, I found this under the driver seat, I'm assuming that this is my turbo actuator pipe??
  19. I don't think so, they need fitting up to the full 3" system so they'll more than likely move down a bit, that's the fine tuning stage, need to get the bloody thing running first:thumbup:
  20. Not really feeling that bud, but hey, it's your car matey:innocent:
  21. Two tyres stacked behind them:biggrin:
  22. Niiiice!! That's looking fan-flipping-fantastic Andy:clap::thumbup:
  23. No rubbing, as far as I could see, the car is definitely going in Saturday morning for the rear subframe to be fitted:thumbup1:
