do i need?
New chip is needed for an ECU, stock ecu is not made for boost upgrades (above 9psi), it hasnt got the fuel maps you need so you'll be running lean.

apexi induction advice!!
oh yeh forgot to ask, is it going any better now mate? you should notice its a bit better specialy seeing as you have an aftermarket zorst :D

reds fastest
p.s and even if you think the above is *****cks whites still faster! :D (when its going lol)
-
reds fastest
White is the fastest its a well known fact, the darker the colour the more light and heat it absorbs. White reflects all the light and a lot of the heat. Therefore white Z's are best for engine cooling aspects as the engine bay in a dark Z would be even hotter as its absorbing all of the suns heat and transfering it to the engine bay, also the bumper where the IC's are. Not only that but it is absorbing all of the light around it, so that means there are extra forces acting on the darker car as the lighter will reflect this lol :D :D You never see a black space shuttle or rocket do you?

did they have the firework display
Yes indeed it was matey. Very nice as well, better than the ones we get local here on nov 5th!!! I was enjoying it then suddenly realised that the fireworks in the sky and all of the light reflecting of the Z's looked mental, went to grab me camera then they stopped :( would have made a shit hot photo too

Lessons to learn for Billing next year, your opinions please?
Nice ideas Mark, The evening would have been loads better if we were all in the same area, as we all kinda drifted off after a bit of chatting near the Z's as we were all camping a fair bit away as I could see. Perhaps we should have a bit of a party in the eve next year too. The hiring of a sound system would be pretty useful hehe. We could all contribute a bit of cash if needed and have a massive BBQ in the eve too. I think we could probably do with a few more events taking place in the day as it would help to mix a bit better with ppl and get to know more of the Z owners. I was kinda confused on tha day wondering who was a Z owner and who joe public was, as it was just random faces chatting to me about the Z. A lot of people said they were looking at buying a Z to me tho so we must have impressed a fair few ppl. I think from looking around though we had the best presence there by far, I was seriously impressed with the turn out!

apexi induction advice!!
And paul C is spot on, dont chop the weather guard up as you will get water on the MAS and it will die in no time, under boost the induction sucks anyways, so the ambient air comming from underneath is fine. You could always duct some more air to it if you wanted on the far sides of the weather guard but I wouldnt bother if I were you. The bottom of my induction is in a half cut away box enclosure to stop water and crap getting on it, as I had probs with water getting in and and rusting the steel filter slightly from the back :O

apexi induction advice!!
Thats an odd one matey. AFAIK the induction chattering is when the TB's close off and the pressure has no where to go, hence it creates pressure back on the compressor which will create turbo stall. The pressure stuck between the intake side of the turbo has no where to go as it cant go forward and through it (as the TB's are closed and then pressure is forced back) so this pressure is forced out of the induction and makes a chattering noise in the process. However, the Z has recircs, so I am assuming that a fair amount of this pressure is passed through the recics and into the breathing system of the car, eliminating pressure near the induction. I've never had an induction without bovs on the Z as they were fitted to jay's car at the same time. But I assumed if your running high boost, some would escape through the induction when you shut off? A few of my prev turbo cars have also had recircs but under high boost I still got the chattering from the induction kit, the 200sx sounded like a beast but that was a typical set up to make that noise as it had no recirc (s13). Go for some turbo XS like mine mate they sound mental :D HTH p.s did you suss what boost you were running matey?

Cars you regularly whoop!
What is it with 350z owners? the guys at Billing seemed stuck up their own arses too, me thinks they are the TT owners moving up to a bigger bubble car cause they got fed up of real Z's owning them. Pitty, they still get owned by a propper Z hehe :D
-
Aaaaarrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!
Sussed it, it was a dodgy connection on one of the coil packs, stroke of luck the first thing I looked at today. It was raised up by about 1cm another was slightly raised also. Don't know if this was causing part of the problem on the way to billing, car sounded smooth but i could have been close to loosing the connection, so the spark could have been intermitent, checked the PTU, CAS and TPS just as a precaution to and they are all fine. Now running smooth again and took it out for a spin, no signs of the phantom smoke but gonna get tubbies done all the same :D

Cars you regularly whoop!
On the way home from billing, fried one of them new bimmer roadsters, Z4, dont know if it was the 2.5 or 3 ltr but either way they arnt that amazing are they? Anyway he obviously had no idea what he was letting himself in for when he came bombing up behined me and right on my arse on the 420. A stroke of luck was that my car was running like a sweethart on the way home, and the duely was 1 mile ahead, he pulled out to overtake me gave me alook of distaste as he put he foot down, so did I shook my head at him and oblitirated him, the road was so clear after the duely that I proceded to overtake the six cars infront. The bimmer could be seen trying to overtake some cars as I disapeared into the distance. Silly man. Any way, I find around town none of the 'boy racers' play and neither do I, I have had a couple of idiots in small underpowered cars trying to impress me of which I just let them carry on and ignore it. No point in using valuble power on a car that is blatantly going to be killed. The list is pretty big tho, Cossies, fiat coupe, countless BMW and mercedes, porches. Never ever raced any ferrari whatsoever never had the chance. Scoobies are a favorite, somehow the drivers seem to think that a scoobie is the fastest car on the plannet. When I bang the TC on 10% and floor it I even get a better start than them waving good bye to them in the mirror. One chap I recall said he had a 320bhp scoobie, I raced him and wiped the floor with him :D One of the best ever run ins I had was with a vanquish just outside of town. He was off round the roundabout at the lights and so was I, I outcornered him round the roundabout and let off a bit when close to his arse, he floored it down the duely, I followed, couldnt pull past him so stayed behined him but he couldnt get away, right up to 140 then he slowed up and pulled into the petrol station, probably the v12 drank it all on that one stretch lol. Don't know what the top end on them things are? But very nice car, give me one of them any day :D

Back from Billing
I only chatted to about a quater of the Z owners there, if that!, the rest of the time it was random non Z owners asking 50 questions about me car, didnt mind, just not enough time in the day! Good time tho, just felt too rough on the sunday to stay too long and it was pissing down.

Does your partner appreciate your Zed?
My missus loves mine, she drives it whenever she can and always wants to borrow it. She said once she'd swap her car for mine! She said its comfy, drives really nice and likes all the attention she gets in it too lol.
