Always liked and owned several s13's for a while, never really thought about getting a Z, thought they were a little over rated until a friend got one and as standard they are not that blistering, but a little persuation with a gentle fetling and they go like stink :D Anyways, when my friend got one I liked it seeing it closer and being in it, its big, has awesome road presence (people in their luxury cars seem scared of it!), loads of extras, the roof comming off was a massive biggie for me, also the fact it looks awesome with a nice set of rims on and lowered :D, I liked the sound, liked the drive and overall just thought that I needed one lol. I still think the only other car this side of 30k I would rather own than it is a ferrari 348 :D http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW/CARS_popup.asp?modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&make=FERRARI&model=348&min_pr=75&max_pr=&postcode=sn2+1bl&miles=1500&max_records=50&source=0&sort=3&ukcarsearch_full=SEARCH&start=1&distance=107&adcategory=CARS&channel=CARS&id=200429152800652 Have been tempted a few times to start saving the k's rather than spending on the Z but she is adictive!!!!! once she pops you cant stop lol Steve p.s FOOK ME just realised how big that link is lmao
  2. IMHO six best mods; Induction kit Better flowing zorst New Chip Uprated boost (say 12psi if you want it too last) Boost guage Atleast UK spec oil cooler Thats a good start and will make your car a lot more responive than stock and give it a nice little increase in BHP. As others say keep it serviced every 6k or 6 months whichever comes first (6months for me) After that you can go onto bigger tubbies, upping boost pressure to around 16psi (or equivilent flow compared to stock tubbies) Which the engine can take. Then into new IC's, rad, pistons, the full package. Don't forget the key thing tho, make sure your car is serviced, well maintained and running well before you start playing with boost etc and modding. Sort out any running issues you think you may have first. Having said that my car was running mint, then 16psi came along and after a few months spoilt the whole smooth running relationship I had with me car!!
  3. Indeed, and I doubt they could even test the pressure as the car wouldnt even be running at that stage lol. The likely hood of them finding two small welding tips wedged in two specific vacuum hoses is also very very slim ;) Anyways, I was gonna start off on the boost controller subject but dont wanna hijack your thead so i'll start me own ;)
  4. I did my own boost upgrade lol, and insurance, well, they cant really tell what boost im running anyway, unless they get an inspector in the car and I start breaking speed limits, I doubt they even know what stock boost is!! So for insurance purposes, its stock lol
  5. Although cooling is a good thing, the more worrying thing to be thinking about is the amount of pressure you are running through stock engine, and the horsies on the box. TBH 16psi on standard sized tubbies (better tubby internals) with stock engine internals and cooling setup IMHO is ok, it can take it. So what you are looking for at 12psi on standard everything all the time is absolutley fine. Most people say and I heard Topless telling me that 15psi is really max for standard turbos, I would tend to agree, 16psi or more they can not flow enough and run out of steam at high RPM, also they will die very quickly under this pressure compared to normal pressures. Infact I would say no more than 12psi on stock tubbies for reliability. Anyways, if you getting bigger tubbies, dependant on the size, if bigger at say 12-13 psi you may well be flowing as much air as equal to 16psi on standard. Either way, I personally wouldnt go over this flow on standard block. Bigger IC's for cooling is good, but, I would say if your looking at what you say you are it is not NEEDED, although would still be a good investment for the engine as the cooler the better. I can not say for sure what sort of pressure the head can take and what the stock internals are good up to. So it would be best asking paul C or duffer on that one.
  6. Now thats a funny pic
  7. will do matey :)
  8. Oh yeh, back on track, so opinions on box's please and prices?
  9. Hmmm, Friend of mine hos Nitrous fitted on his 300, he's running .85 bar on stock everything, ran a 100 shot through in one go at santa pod, next day he didnt have a third gear on the box lol. Since he has had the box uprated seems to take it fine, he has reduced the jet to an 80 though now. Bought it from my brother so gonna keep hold of it for a little bit hehe, but if I change me mind i'll let u know ;) If a few of you wanted nitrous I could see if I could get us a discount, me friend with the Z has his own company who supplies the gas and kits and fit them where I live. But if not i'll let it go for 400 lmao!!
  10. Hi chaps, Just got hold of a nitrous kit complete with purge system, 10lb chrome bottle, solonoids and all tubing etc and trigger switch for 250!! Bargain! Not putting it on yet tho, going to wait till got me new tubbies etc, think i'll be needing a better gear box too. Anyone know what fast road box is best (auto) I know there is the SE one but any others? Also I am considering going over to manual, anyone know where I can get a good manual box (guaranteed) and fitted? I have been toying with the idea of getting manual conversion for a bit, but I do like the way the auto drives. Hard to choose really. Also just got confirmation from my body shop that its going back in to have the poor filling etc on tailgate skin and lights put right Aug 6th. So hopefully should be comming back together soon :D
  11. Cool, must keep me eyes open for some of them models chaps ;) I sent an email to them fellas to see what they say, using my expert skills in the way of the cantonese language ;)
  12. 'Material: The brass both sides etching processed United States make (processing: Japan) 9,450 Yenin price including tax(9,000 Yen in substance price)' 'When the inquiry and there is a dissatisfaction? Application straw raincoat nonarrival and the inquiry of the after-sales service and please communicate dissatisfaction after the commodity arriving, to the below-mentioned time.' Then again maybe not ;) :D lol
  13. Actualy probably better if you read it like this ;) http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aurelia.jp%2Fnissanzippo.html&lp=ja_en
  14. I'll see if I can contact them, Nice models by the way Dave where you get them from? I take it you cant buy them new anymore?
  15. Hehe, I think they are well nice, I stopped smoking too lol, but just a nice thing to have should I start again lol. Also loads of Z stuff here bags and stuff but its mostly 350 :( http://www.courtesyparts.com/gifts/
  16. Nah, they are zippos that sell in japan, shall we see if we can get a load shipped over? http://www.aurelia.jp/nissanzippo.html
  17. And this one apparantly is from Matchbox's 1997 US 1-75 series This model looks the *****x I want one; fairplay to the chap he's done a top job on that http://www.spc.org.uk/nissan/nissan-300zx.html A cool keyring too :D Baby radio controlled Z :D
  18. Wouldnt mind one of these :D Notice it finishes at the real Z :D And a matchbox Z :D Anyone else got any pics of cool Z memorabilia or where to get it from?
  19. OMFG check this out looks a beaut, image one of them either side on your cans; http://turbozet.en.ec21.com/GC00511312/CA00511316/Rear_TURBO_Zet.html
  20. I have no idea how people can even try and sell such things, it is two 55mm PC cooling fans in a plastic case, image two cooling fans in a pc on 12v they give out hardly any air. I can image the chap who installed them would have had the plastic fans sucked into the turbo by now and chewed up I mean come on how the **** could they withstand like even 10psi of boost lmao
  21. As I understand it the above is the 'High performance TWIN TURBO ZET' Who's up for a group buy? MWUHAHAHAHAH
  22. I dont know GTO owners will do anything to try and catch up with the Z's :D http://www.3si.org/turbozet.htm
  23. Could be I guess? NM maybe dan will find out and put all the speculation to rest, Z aerials and all ;)
