  1. Cheers Rich, Not too fussed about weight saving, took the spare wheel out today but put in my boot install. Just wanting to know how quick the car is really. Probably just go down 3 or 4 times in the morning to get a time. What should I expect. Dave G
  2. I will be at crail on Sunday and I am going to give the car a go on the 1/4 for my first time. I have a couple of questions: 1. With the car being an auto, which is the best way to start off the line 2. Is there anything I can do to help the car go down the track, ie by driving. No losing weight jokes etc please  . TIA, Dave G
  3. No aftermarket steering wheel, still got the bus one. I will have a look later at th connections and top it right to the top unless I already did. TY, Dave G
  4. A few weeks ago my HICAS light started to come on occasionally. After searching through the forum I came to the conclusion that the fluid needed topped up. Job done and problem fixed for the first time I drove it. Then after that every other time I drive the HICAS light stays on and never goes off. What does this mean. TIA, Dave G
  5. I transferred my private plate onto the Z today. The papers etc dont come till next week etc, until then I cannot change the plate over. My plate is G2UAR as my surname is GRUAR. I just noticed on the way home that since the Z has a square rear it wouldnt mean anything. Am I able to just simply use a rectangular one on the back and if so will it need to be a 3/4 etc?? TIA, Dave G
  6. Mines is standard springs with 17" alloys. The only problem I have is it sometimes catches with my exhaust. Front and back are fine. Just the usual underneath scrapes and oh nos
  7. I know the lights are poor, but no excuses m8 :nono: :slap:  . Hopefully see you there. Dave G
  8. Thats a shame Paul was hoping you would be there, did you fit the intercoolers on? Craig and I will be leaving Dundee at about 9:30 or 10:00 if anyone else from the area wants to head up in a convoy. Scotty, any luck with the stand yet? Kev6, could you take me on the track sometime in the morning so I know what its like on it and make sure I go at the right light on the tree. This would be much appreciated as the car will be on the track, but starting early on incase I f*ck anything up. Look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday. Dave G

My GF says I rock forward and back when I floor it. Dont know why I do it but everytime I do I aim not to rock, lol. I know a few people who do stupid things when driving. Dave G
  10. Dont know if this is a repost but I think the new style type-R is gorgeous. Some of the lesser sportier models are a bit mismatch but check this out: Sex on Wheels What do you all think? Dave G
  11. Heres the badboy: http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=52019&highlight=skyline+brakes+standard
  12. Alex, I have seen a link for skyline disks and calipers that allow the original wheels. Ill go have a look, dave G
  13. Thanks guys. The alloys I already have on needed 4mm spacers. But no doub it just depends on the wheels that I will be going for. So once I replace the calipers with 350z ones, does that allo me to fit in larger disks or could I just use the same size. (getting new brembos in July regardless, so I would just pick the size to suit.) Thanks, Dave G
  14. I am thinking of going for a 350z disk conversion to the front. What is involved in it. I could source calipers and get brand new brembo disks. Would it just be something similiar to Smithys skyline caliper brackets?? Sorry I aint no expert. Dave G
  15. Why does it always seem that joining the armed forces is only because something went wrong. Surely armed forces gives enough benefits and job prospects to actually get some people wanting to join as their first choice in life instead of doing it after failed others. At least you chose not to do it before you were commited too much. The police also offer good benefits to their employees. Give them a shout and see what you say to you. Also on another note, Nuclear police (check http://www.cnc.police.uk/) get paid very well (for requiring no qualifications) and they just sit on their fat ar*es all day. The good thing about joining the CNC is that you would be fire arms trained also, plus they have the same rights as normal police by the end of this year. That means you could always change over once done. G oodluck in whatever you do. Dave G
  16. Pads and new nut is in the works car ready to come up to you. Just have to get the sud from Nissan tomorrow. Speak to you later. Dave G
  17. Off the top of my head 1993/4 onwards. I used to use: mr2oc.co.uk They are very helpful and a great bunch on guys. Have a wee look on there. Plenty of info on them
  18. Brakes are off the Z just now but all should still be go for Sunday. Even if I dont take the Z I will meet you guys there. Should hopefully get some interest in the GFs C2, but then again its only a standard VTS, they all love the shagged, modified ones
  19. Think my message there just answered your question.
  20. Rev 1 and 2 both had the 220 bhp engine. Also if you get a rev 1 like my white one the interior is a horrible blue colour. Rev 2 had better suspension and better alloys. Rev 3 had changed rear end and splitter on the front as standard. Rev 3 also seen the 245 bhp engine. IMO the rev 3 should have been the way they were made. Revs 1 and 2 look dated now. My last was a Rev 1 with Rev 3 rear lights: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v280/dg0106085/MR2/ The pictures also show the standard rev 1 alloys as I kept the alloys when I sold it as you can see from the Z. Rev 3 still looks like an amazing sports car, plenty of street cred if you can get past the hairdresser name callings. Dave G
  21. Its obvious to tell unless you are young kid. If you wanna go for a car like that, buy it already done. Save you a lot of hassle. IMO buy a car for what it is. Dave G
  22. To me a practical car is something that you dont look at the petrol gauge and think wheres the next petrol station. Having the 2 is also practical that you dont have to give any lifts home lol
  23. I have had a couple of 2s. I also agree. The only model nowadays worth any decent money is a Rev 3 +. Dont go for a heavily modified one as it is guaranteed to be ragged about. I think 2s are great, they are reliable as long as you dont go playing around with stupid boost levels. Same as any other turbo car really. As a day to day car you would probably be best with the GT Turbo model as that came with half leather and aircon as standard whereas they where options with the GTS. Thats the only real difference between the 2 models and one has LSD but can remember as this depends on age too. You shouldnt be as much on petrol as your Z. If you want something a bit more practical and looks amazing go for a.................... N/A Z  :hyper:
  24. Seen a silver Z with a high level spoiler driving past the old Audi dealer near poundstretchers in town at 08:30. I was just in the 206 at the time. Dave G
