Oh that's a bit of surprise, I spoke to Jimmer about 2 weeks ago, he said that a new loom can still be bought but for how long he doesn't know. We discussed looms because I had an intermittent misfire which was hard to track down, eventually I traced it to a faulty injector... but I was really blown away when Jimmer sourced me a good injector and sent it to me without ever asking for payment, despite me insisting so! He made me want to be part of the club again, because very few people go out of their way and do that!! Now just have the fit the injector and a well known Zed will be back on the road!!:)

This what a brake guy said about the LS430's: "Now that I'm in the brake repair business I've seen alot of different brakes systems up close and seen how they wear, last, and perform. The best factory brake system I've seen is on the Lexus LS430's. Lexus uses Brembo for their brake systems, they are HUGE, aluminum monoblock design, and feature a fixed 4-piston set-up. They offer tremendous swept area, and will straddle a 13.5x1.25" wide rotor (LS1, C5's) and the only concern I have is wheel clearance (they are REALLY HUGE). I'm ordering a set next week to "experiment" with!!!!!"

Now if you've not seen what an impressive caliper this then Google Lexus LS430 monoblock, some people say they are better than similar sized Brembo's and being monoblock look a bit different in a good way! Also seem to very popular as a Porsche upgrade: http://944hybrids.forumotion.com/t7-ls430-big-brake-swap I bought a set about a year ago, made all the enquiries with Freakyparts, (big brake specialist), to get them fitted on my Toyota Estima but didn't get the chance to do it. I am.now thinking to send Freakyparts a Zed hub, the LS430 calipers, and either a Skyline R33 GTR / 350Z brake disc or perhaps even a 355mm 370Z brake disc to get the adaptors made. The other nice thing about these calipers is they are very light and made by Sumitomo who made the original Zed calipers. Would anyone be interested in this upgrade, and also what size disc would you want?

I saw the Link G4 at approx £1100, as Simon stated this is fantastic piece of kit and what a build like yours ideally will need.

Also consider a Link G4 standalone ecu, surprising good value, direct plug and play, and with a 4 bar MAP sensor you can eliminate the AFM, maybe something you can do in the future after the build has been completed and the engine has been nicely run in!

Very useful bolts to have
You're spot on, as I mentioned some people advise the cling film way, some people say press the pedal half way but this way is more secure, the nuts and bolts that I linked on ebay are very good quality, especially the dome nuts which have a nice deep hat for the lines to fit into nicely. A few years ago I did some Zed calipers and I used old / scrap brake lines with a self tapper on the caliper side, worked ok, but obviously an M10 1.0mm fine pitch bolt is better!

Very useful bolts to have
If you have ever removed a Zed brake caliper for replacement or painting etc, I have always got annoyed by the brake fluid that can seep from the lines and caliper, recently I sent off a set of Brembo calipers to have painted by Brake Caliper Specialists in Nottingham so had this issue again. Nismo 615s are also a popular option. They are virtually identical to 740s, but use a yellow top (instead of red found on the 740s) and flow less fuel. For the price, 740s are a better choice as they often cost less than 615s, move more fuel, and idle just as well.

Agree and taken from CZP site: Nismo 740cc injectors are considered the "gold standard" for the 300ZX. They are the only direct-fit injector that is manufactured at 740cc, all others are redrilled at the time of this writing, which means the Nismo 740 is more reliable and consistent. Out of interest I checked the prices of the Nismo 740's last week from Nengun and RHD Japan, both similar at approx £650, so 615's might be a touch cheaper, but 740's might suit your spec better?
