I dont think its worth another £80 for a new one. They are replacing all the bits that are important. All the new one would be is neew casing and clean. Not worth £80 imo.

FFS, I just went to get the dipstick out and its fooking stuck. I didnt take it out when I took all the sump off when I did my oil pump. I just left it in there, didnt erally look like it was in the way. Is there any reason why it would jam. I can only pull it about 1/2 inch. I tried turning it to all angles and things... Really really dont wanna take the sump off again, I think I may just burn it all. :mad: :headvswal :smash: :wack: :x: :nelson: :nono:

Been quoted £120 to fix mine. Beraings, regulator pack etc... basically only the casing is any good, lol. He said £200 for a new one. Anyone know of a place to get a new one cheaper than £120 or shall I just phone him tomorrow and tell him to get on with it as its a good price? Thanks Mark

I havnt had heating on for months, obviously lol, and dont intend too at all. Jumpers etc... till I die of cold. Cant turn any more elctrical stuff off, dont have lights on when watching tv. Doh, I hate houses!

Im with Npower. Was paying about £30 for each a month on that estimated thingy. Just had my final for the year on electricity and I have to pay another £64 and my monthly has gone up to £45.50. They put my gas up to about £45 in July this summer. So now im paying £90 a month for a 2 bed house and seems a little high to me? What you all paying???

Do it your self. Its a piece a piss. Rad and fan out, those two metal pipes off engine block. Slacken all auxillary things off, p/s pump, alternator. Pulley off, I used a puller, some people hit em. Cam belt covers off. Take up load on tensioner. Blet off and do reverse. Prob missed a few little bits, but its not really that hard is your a little mechanically minded!

I didnt mean the alternator isnt charing, could be one of the diodes letting voltage through when car isnt in use.

Done my oil pump, but not run engine yet cause my alternators getting checked out and isnt in the car.

Yup, removed wood, just managed to get some pliers in and open! Only took about 5 mins, bit scary really!!!! Fooking cable snapped so off to B&Q. Cant go any further with car now though, cause I think my alternator is fooked elecrically, causing the battery to drain, so I put it in a shop to get checked over. Wont have a idea whats up with it till wednesday now.

Its a pin in the top middle. Ill try a screw driver but not sure if it will work. I drilled a whole so I could pull the cable with pliers but I cant see it. It must have come out the top pin and dropped right down. I think I can take the wooden strip off across the top which stops the garage door closing too far and attack it from there!! I tried getting stroppy and whacking the top where the catch is, but I think ill whack the whole door down onto my car, it doesnt seem that sturdy, not good! Its like someone is just telling me I shouldnt have a Zed, lol!!!!

Well went to charge my car battery up ready for putting it all back together and testing tomorrow and I turned the garage handle and the cable snapped. Yea inside and out. I thought I was lucky and changed the fluid on the outside ones didnt have to take wheels off etc... bargain. Then relised there was inside ones, lol. DOH!
