  1. That fills me with joy as it was my first Z and my daily driver for a while! I sold it back in 2006 as the sills were showing evidence of rust and the turbos started smoking heavily when the car was left to idle (plus the fact it was an auto). I wouldn't say I regret the decision as I'm very happy with what I have now but it sure was sure a sad day when it drove away and when I saw the car pop up on eBay I hoped it would go to someone wanting to restore it. A restored UK car is worth decent money these days so it's probably a good investment. Will you start a new thread for me to subscribe to? Here are some pictures from when she was happier!... It has some serious horsepower:
  2. Rest in Peace Bob (Mark).
  3. Probably drove too close to a curb! [emoji13]
  4. Looks like a Stillen copy to me.
  5. I'd do the roof first, walls are overrated.
  6. I'm glad you kept the moustache on the front bumper. If you go for an original Stillen lip, they're polyurethane so would be harder wearing. That grey UK car, are you breaking it for spares or bringing it back to life?
  7. They're hard enough to blunt a drill bit easy enough, but most extractors on the market are rarely up to the job, including the BA issue tools. For future reference, see the Snap-on man for screw extractors as they're far superior. They look like this and are around a fiver each: Nevertheless, hope you get it fixed up ok. I'm sure Paul (NemesisZX) had one of the for sale recently.
  8. Chocolate extractors!
  9. You're interested in regulation 14a on page 2. That shows you the required dimensions for the lettering, borders, stroke and all that good stuff. Technically, it's a black and white regulation and it's generally written for cars like ours where the rear plate recess would prevent a normal size plate being displayed. It becomes grey in its interpretation with our front plates which could house a standard UK plate. If you fit the front with the square "import" shape plate, I doubt you have any problems, but use the same size lettering and grouping them on 1 line means you can fit the whole registration on a 3/4 size plate. That's what I have done (when I actually have a plate fitted!) A member of a UK Supra club won a case in court arguing that using a square import plate or a UK size plate, restricted the airflow into his radiator and allowing him to use the same size plate as me.

  11. I agree, it's looking fantastic. Can't wait to see this car finished [emoji41]
  12. I didn't realise you were after the rule of thumb, here it is demonstrated with Flemings right hand rule: Hope this helps.
  13. I vote yes, a nice subtle touch.
  14. Piiiiiiiiics! And strap a GoPro to your head for the tech talk presentation [emoji106]
  15. Look forward to seeing it in its final pink coat!
  16. Looks fantastic [emoji41]
  17. I wouldn't say it's cheap, for a car with no MOT I would say it's overpriced and a big punt.
  18. And then there was this one. I've seen pictures of this car before and was always very critical of what they've done to our "lovely cars"! Having now seen the car in person, I can honestly say it's an amazing piece of work, a masterpiece! The attention to detail and the quality of the work done to achieve the look is remarkable. Unfortunately I didn't meet the owner.
