  1. Controversial!
  2. Looking fantastic Lee [emoji41]
  3. Sounds to me like you've answered your own question, the solution is stop pricing jobs up as if you have minimal overheads. What happens when the capital from the sale of your car is gone? What will you sell next in order to continue to give people great prices? I'm also confused as to why you would fit an aftermarket bodykit part to a car you intend to sell. Generally speaking, the vast majority of potential buyers would always prefer a blank canvas over a modified example, it seems to me like you're wasting money as you will be reducing the market to sell to, even with an arguably subtle modification.
  4. Happy Birthday Pete [emoji106]
  5. With no clothes on I hope?
  6. By integral, he means his lounge. Simon doesn't have a tele, he just pours a glass of red whilst chilling on his finest Italian velour chaise longue, and admires his Z with no clothes on. The cork is still in the 65 year old bottle of Cabernet Sauvigno at the moment as he has spent his evenings rebuilding, eating pizza and wedging dashboards into a wheelie bin. Normal service will be restored shortly.
  7. I know the feeling, group buy on gearboxes?!
  8. That is a shame, almost a perfect ending. Such a shame that there isn't a go-to place for the gearboxes on these cars, they must be so simple by modern standards?
  9. Neat idea. I like the way he repaired the thread and dove straight in to put the plug back in with the ratchet! Get it started with your fingers! I'd be trying to get a small tube on a vacuum in the hole to clean up the fall-out/swarf afterwards.
  10. Sorry I couldn't be there this year guys, stuck at work for the day! (Not to mention that the Z is in pieces!) More pics please...
  11. Happy Birthday Dave [emoji482]
  12. You're a bit late into this one as the stud extractor broke off the hole a long time ago!
  13. To be fair, 34% not voting is a good turnout no?
  14. I rebuilt my plenum that I stripped for cleaning and then intended to reseal my weapy vvt solenoids and inlet cover gaskets only to find I was nil stock of red RTV, doh! After a bit of dithering(!) I diverted my attention to the stars of the show; the 740's. I removed the fuel rail and practically destroyed the perfectly serviceable stock injectors trying to remove them with all the wrong tools, brute force and ignorance! After winning the battle I slipped in the Tomei injectors using the JWT adaptor kit which is a fantastic quality bit of kit that requires no plenum modifications to fit (unlike the other kits) very impressed with that, much recommended. Once they were all in I replaced the hoses on the rail with new OEM fuel hose and Renault (I mean Nissan) spring type fuel clamps. I then installed them back into the car with nice new insulators making it fit nice and snug back in place. A fairly productive afternoon of ignoring the kids overall and look forward to getting another stab at it in a few days time.
  15. Let's just keep swinging at the ball, eventually we'll hit it!
  16. A tick is void! ✔️
  17. Silica sand, quite abrasive!
  18. Happy Birthday Ian [emoji322]
  19. Cleaned the plenum [emoji41]
  20. It's a fairly recent turn of events so it would be worth calling again for details. I'll be in for a remap at some point but have few other things to do first, for now I'll be making use of the SZ chip. Basic mods from me; dual intake (Selin), Greddy coolers, GT525s, 2.5" divorced dp and decat with 740's. Intake ducting is all stock.
  21. Why would you drop the TB out of curiosity Stephen?
  22. As Andrew mentioned, to get you by, an "off the shelf" chip from SZ will get you by in the mean time once all the gear has been installed. Just be mindful of the fact that the car will need mapping each time you upgrade a component and at £500 a shot, if possible you want to be hitting as much of this as possible in a oner!
  23. There's no need to have a Nistune fitted to go and see Greg anymore as Jimmer has kindly donated his personal Nistune board to Protuner in order to make it more cost effective for us to have a remap. You take your car to Greg, he plugs in his (Jimmer's) Nistune ECU, live maps the car until satisfied, uses the data collated to burn a chip, installs chip into your ECU and hey presto! Quite a handy £300 saving for a Nistune board that is arguably unnecessary depending on what you want to do with it.
  24. Nice. Have you already trimmed the diffuser slightly to fit on around the tow hitches? A much better solution than cutting them off as many do!
  25. If it is open cell foam (which it looks to be?), it will hold water and unfortunately in the UK it will only (possibly) dry out on our 1 summers day a year! [emoji1] The area around the rear lights mounting is very inconsistent in depth which I assume is why Nissan used a very thick, flexible sealant/tape (unlike the centre panel that uses a closed cell foam gasket). I've always found a non-setting sealant has worked great and makes for easy removal/installation. DJ_Party_Favor, have you considered painting your tow hitches black?
