  1. as per title, im sure its possible but the question is more of what is involved and what bits would i need for the job? also, what would need to be removed for access for the installation. any help on this would be great, cheerZ Joel.
  2. your saviour has arrived! all your answers are now here ;) these common for dry joints paul?
  3. less tax though :) but lets face it... tax doesnt have to be taxing :wack:
  4. hmm, cant think off the top of my head what you were wiggling, iv sold my zed now otherwise id go out and have a look for you... maybe take a picture? have you cleaned up the terminals on the plug for the one that you wiggled to make it work? ... have you got a soldering iron? ;)

notice the subaru gets no mention... good lad ;)
  6. tis a fair point tbh... it only requires a very slight positive pressure to keep the dust out. id say that is prolly the primary reason for the scoop :)
  7. once you have removed it just double check the plug is firmly secured on the switch unit.... oh btw, does your pass window go up and down ok? if so it prolly wont be that plug. it could possibly be the plug onto the motor itself. atm id say its most likely to be a dry joint on the circuit board your about to remove :) Joel
  8. right i would say your motor is fine then... sounds like either a dodgy plug connection or a dry solder. do you know how to get the switch unit out of the door? in the hole where you put your fingers to close the door is some carpet... pry or pull up the fwd and aft edges of the carpet to reveal 2 screws... undo these 2 screws and then carefully lift the switch unit out of the door. there is a spring prong at the front end of the unit.
  9. did the problem build up or did it just stop?
  10. and uses oil... lots of it! the rx8 requires 1ltr of oil a month or every 1000 odd miles! this isnt a design fault though, it is supposed to use that much oil as it runs a 'total loss' system. imagine what a 15yr old rx7 would use ;)
  11. when it does move, does it move @ normal speed or is it sluggish? if it is sluggish then its prolly a buggered motor, otherwise if it just works intermittently when you press the button then its more than likely a dry joint in the switch circuit board.
  12. lol, if yours was a targa top mate i would probably have had a look... also want a lwb really so i have sumwhere to put the dog :) Joel
  13. nevermind matey... im quite open minded for this one and my criteria has a very wide spectrum so it shouldnt take too long to find/import one. as long as it is in good mechanical and structural condition with reasonable mileage il take it, colour doesnt matter as it will soon be on the operating table, and im not bothered about it being a 95/96 as i was going for and im now in the frame of mind for preferring a 93/94. Joel

  15. from what i saw jut from the ad it looked a good car, if everything is as it seems then i think you found a winner! i found it on the trader on a friday night...i went and took the cash out of the bank early saturday morning to slam the wonga on their table but unfortunately... good luck bud... oh btw, i assume we are talking about the same car as the trader also had an auto tt in red? Joel
  16. lol ditto... it seems there are a few people on the case on this forum... the thing i dont like about the clear corners conversions is that through the lense you can clearly see the led circuit board (only really on the side repeaters and front indicators, not so much the tail lights) so the ones i have made have an alluminium bezel that wrap around each individual led and spread to the edge of the light unit. it just makes it look that little bit less 'aftermarket'! here is a pic of the clearcorners side repeaters to give you an idea of what i mean... i am having some issues with led brightness atm trying to set it up with the correct amount of resistors and values. also, iv just sold my zed so i cant just plug em in to see how they look until i get my new 1! Joel
  17. we need all the calendar cars there and all the monthly competition winners and contestants there too
