  1. It is a daft question - it wouldn't turn over if it was in gear as that would launch the car down the road the same as if it started up LOL I should imagine it wouldn't turn over if the bonnet was up either. You could speak to Bob on here he's an alarm and audio installer so will probably know :)
  2. Cooooool! :hyper: Not sure about the Nissan Micra rear wheel though  Wish I could do stuff like that but I'm not the arty type.
  3. Yep belt fitted yourself for £20 or... Nissan telling you it needs all 3 belts and a coolant change. £100 for bits and 2 hours fitting @ £50ph I bet LOL Not much change from £200 I reckon!
  4. Do a search on here it's been discussed a million times LOL You either need H3C bulbs or the easily available H3 and solder an earth wire onto it (or earth the inside of the headlight)
  5. Oooooooh!
  6. Sorry, I'll shut up before I get a well deserved S-L-A-P!! :slap:
  7. Yep my boss had an 850 new years ago and it was a gorgeous car. The only BMW I'd ever have apart from the old shark nosed 6 series :)
  8. No problem! I don't usually have to pay but if you're saying it's for petrol I won't feel so bad about it  That's where you've been going wrong, you need an older man ;) Don't worry about it, I'll give you a "job" :x:
  9. Probably just needs new belts by the sound of it. Surely not even Nissan can get that wrong
  10. If you're getting all that done you'd be better at a specialists or the bill could soon turn silly. Don't bother with the head gasket it's very rare they fail and would cost a packet to do. Would be worth taking the plenum off and doing a water bypass while the engine is out - it removes loads of water pipes that can fail. I'd get a braided fuel line kit from Smithy while you're at it. Good luck!
  11. You've just ruined my Z fantasy :x: If you need training I know a very experienced instructor
  12. Personaly I don't like the original alloys. I don't think they suit the car and are far too small under the arches. I'm sure the ride will be much smoother due to the balloon tyres but wouldn't be my choice.
  13. There's some gorgeous cars on there, think I'll have to order a few LOL
  14. Yes buy a set that comes with a fitting kit for the Z otherwise you'll be spending more money trying to modify them or find parts to make them fit. There's lots of cheap BOV's about but they're crap and not really designed for this car. Here's a few that will fit straight on in order of price: Turbo XS RFL (Z1 use these as their own brand) Apexi HKS Blitz
  15. European cars have the diff oil pump but Japanese imports don't. Maybe Australian cars are the same. You could probably just remove it all if you want to save weight.
  16. Yes you need 2 and no you can't just fit 1 and then buy the other LOL Here's how you could fit a single one but it's just not worth the custom pipework and hastle: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=87988&highlight=thai+HKS+SSQV If you fitted just one and left a recirc valve on the car would run like a bag of s**t! :slap: One side of the engine would have air recirculated into it and the other side would be dumping air out (and they wouldn't release at the same time either) so the mixture would be all wrong. A lot of cars need adjustments after fitting BOV's to get them idling correctly and to stop them stalling when coming off the throttle so you couldn't do that if you had some wierd combination setup. Have a look at the Z1 Motorsport RFL kit it's an absolute bargain, comes with a fitting kit and is stupidly loud :D $279.00 = £143.00 plus shipping from U.S http://www.z1motorsports.com/index.php?cPath=6_22
  17. I like that a lot :) Not sure why anybody bothers widening the front end though they're already wide enough IMO. I like the back a lot, reminds me of a Lamborghini Mucielago or Corvette.
  18. I presume you mean a water bypass not throttle bypass! although by the sound of it your throttle will be useless by the time you've finished  Do a search on water bypass and it should bring up loads of information ;)
  19. I wouldn't say you got stitched up, you got what you paid for  Cars that price are usually only worth breaking. To get it sorted properly is going to cost you at least £1000 I would say but you can't buy another car for that money so it's fix it or scrap it really :(
  20. Eh? Sounds like you're doing it all wrong to me... I'll follow up when I'm sober LOL
