  1. That has certainly crossed my mind! But I presume it's illegal??? It's so much hastle as I'll probably only get a £100 or so for my existing bonnet (with Z Centre bulge) that by the time I've hired a trailer or made other arrangements I might as well dump it somewhere and drive home with the new one on
  2. LOL! You need help Sarah! I thought you were joking about dumping the boat off the trailer! LOL  Trailer idea might be possible actually :)
  3. I've bought a Border bonnet from a guy in Belgium and have to meet him at Brands Hatch this weekend - 14th or 15th July. Was going to make a day of it by watching the GT Car Championship but how the hell do I get 2 bonnets home 200+ miles? LOL Options I've thought of so far: 1, Collect bonnet and try put it in the boot of the Z or my Astra Estate - don't think it will fit? 2, Put the new bonnet on the Z and sell the old one to someone local - Is anyone near Brands Hatch who wants it or who could collect and store it for me at their place? 3, Go in the Astra and try fasten it on the roof bars somehow - I don't have the full roof rack so it could be dodgy as I don't know how I'll secure it properly and its a crap drive home with something like a sail on the roof. 4, Hire a van - expensive and crap weekend in a van! LOL 5, Anyone else going to Brands Hatch who could collect and store it for me until I can get down later or find someone who is heading up north in a van etc? Advice please!
  4. Can you explain in more detail why you took this flawed and premature decision to cancel Grafham solely on the word of your boss?  I think the forum should call your boss to confirm this
  5. Yep! When it starts to plane and lifts out the water it's like a couple of big turbo's coming in and it gives you such a push in the back it's unreal. You just hold on and whoooohooooooo! LOL You can see in the pics there's only a foot or 2 of hull in contact with the water so you certainly won't be getting sea sick LOL
  6. LOL  It would be funny if it wasn't so true! I really don't know how they have been allowed to get away with it really. They should be made to give average speed figures attained and charge on that basis. I didn't mind so much on 4meg only getting 2meg sometimes but paying for 20meg and getting 1meg MOST of the time really is daylight robbery
  7. Well it is a genuine ex "Terminator Racing" race team boat that's been used in the UK Off Shore Championships in it's early years so it's certainly up to it with a reliable engine :) Obviously you would need a marine radio to be safe and I was going to get my license so I could blast round the coast. Insurance is very cheap and you don't even have to have it (legally) although some places insist on it before you can use their launch facilities. Wiping out a £10m crusier on leaving the harbour could be an expensive mistake
  8. Unfortunately my mate who owned it before had a problem with a broken wire to the external oil pump and just twisted it together instead of doing a proper fix  I found this out one day when the wire came loose and stopped it pumping oil to the engine tank so it ran dry and cut out with no warning lights :( Tried it the next day and it runs but sounds rattly and stalls so I think the bearings have gone and possibly needs a ring or 2? If it's just new bearings it's probably not too much of a job as they're quite simple engines. 2 strokes don't have all the valves and other fiddly bits. I've got a full service manual and was going to strip it and repair myself but due to being in and out of jobs for the last 2 years I still can't afford the bits and the chances of me using it in the next year or 2 are pretty slim. Would really like to keep it but I think I'm kidding myself I'll be having weeks away with the boat when I'm in such a financial mess - it costs £200 to fill the tank for a couple of days on the water plus your normal "holiday" costs. Not really a problem if 2 or 3 mates share the costs for a weekend skiing but most of my mates have started to prefer their pipes and slippers recently... LOL If the engine was running it would be worth £3000 to £4000 but I'm after £2K for it as is or swap for a decent JetSki which I might get more use out of on a local lake instead of having to head for Scotland or the coast. Really is an awesome boat and you won't find a faster one anywhere. I've even raced proper F1 twin hull racing boats in it and not been far behind. 60+mph skimming across the bow waves of the cruisers on Loch Lomond and getting airborn is enough to give even the most hardcore Z driver brown trousers
  9. Just found another pic of the boat ;) If you read the Ad you'll see it's no longer the Terminator anyway LOL
  10. I was thinking that :nono: I really can't see you getting insured for that kind of money at your age, even if you have managed 3 years no claims
  11. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Phantom-21-Race-Deck-Off-Shore-Power-Racing-Ski-Boat_W0QQitemZ230150838078QQihZ013QQcategoryZ1296QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Lots of pics on there too. Engine needs work and I just can't afford the weekends away with it right now so it's just not getting used. It was either the boat or the Z so I think it's the best way
  12. Too right Steve. I really don't see why some people are complaining when it's been cancelled, plain and simple. It doesn't matter how or why it's just not happening LOL As for why did we get involved with Z Club I thought it was the 30th Aniversary or something? and Billing was always a far nicer place to be than JAE, which people are free to go to anyway. :slap: :slap: :slap:
  13. LOL very nice but far too big and its 360K in size, took about 10 secs to appear on my 20 meg broadband! Can't you paintshop over it in silver? :D
  14. LOL I thought I'd get a reply like that the moment I posted this and then had a think about the title LOL Thanks I'll have a look at those sites. The fan is only about 30cm across and made of plastic, looks like it should cost about £5 so £160 is a joke. They got the others swapped and they only cost £40 delivered but despite telling them it must be off a 1.1 they've still sent the wrong one twice
  15. My sister in law's Peugeot 206 1.1 LX radiator/cooling fan has failed and they're having problems finding a replacement without going to the main dealer who want about £160. The problem is most 206's seem to come with aircon and have a much bigger fan than the 1.1 LX which has no aircon. They have had 2 fans sent from scrap dealers in the Auto Trader that are the wrong part. Anyone know any Peugeot parts specialists or have a 1.1 lying about in their back yard? LOL Cheers! Chris.
  16. Cool. Z Pants!
  17. By coolers I meant the 2 oil coolers I've got in there ;) Some of the bolts were too rusted up so I decided it was easier to take the bumper off so I had more room to work.
  18. One of the Glasgow airport bombers has been named as Sinjed Inajeep
  19. And I thought I was the only one crazy enough to do something like this! I put a PC in an old arcade cabinet and made a 4 player control panel and wired it all up, complete with trackball, spinner and light gun - just needs the trim finishing off. It's got about 32,000 arcade and computer games on it :) I didn't go as far as hydraulics though! :nono: LOL If I were you I'd check eBay for a machine to come up and raid it for bits. Mine was made from a working Sega Decathlete machine with 28" screen thats like new and I only paid £110 plus £55 delivery, which due to its size and weight I'm amazed the specialist courier agrees to!
  20. I used to go to Finingley and Church Fenton air shows as a kid :) Jeeez I can't be far behind you! LOL  I can remember being at school in Leeds and the Vulcans used to fly over about 4pm most days.
  21. Commiserations and sympathy in advance ;)
  22.   Best advice yet! You could try wrapping yourself in a net curtain and getting in there with a fly swatter! :D Bumble Bees usually nest in holes in the ground but having said that I once got them in a bird box in my garden. Did you know its a scientific fact that aerodynamically a Bumble Bee should not be able to fly, but they definately do LOL
  23. I've sent him a PM pointing him to this thread so if he still reads them he might reply. Then again he might be too scared!
  24. The place I use in Harrogate do a full laser alignment and always have some fancy sports cars booked in. I think they charge £65 then about £25 per adjustment needed. Most of my stuff is adjustable and they only charged me about £90 last time it went in but I've changed my setup since so it's booked in again for next week. Not many places can do a full alignment inc camber etc.
  25. I had an SP30 ban for 30 days years ago for doing about 70 on a dual carriageway which I didn't realise had a 40mph limit  I forgot to tell the court I was working my notice before moving to a new job and was losing my company car anyway so I didn't even have a car for the month they banned me  I told my insurer but I didn't even notice any change in my premium :) Might be different if it's a year ban or for totting up over 12 points though.
