I see the thread got renamed
  5. I check it before every post so it never stays "moderator modified" for long LOL
  6. Must be a big ****in tattoo! :x:
  7. It's got a relay on the PCB so it must switch something but no idea what. Where do all the wires go? Doh just read they're cut!
  8. Fancy selling it? I'm thinking of getting this Black & Decker one from Halfords as it's only 5 minutes down the road and the nearest Machine Mart is 25 miles away. Not sure their other cheaper ones will be up to the job. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_267297_langId_-1_CarSelectorCatalogId__CarSelectorGroupId__varient__categoryId_31335_crumb_33958-123101_parentcategoryrn_31335 # 3 Stage SMART CHARGE Technology provides long life battery performance by smart charging in 3 stages during a complete cycle # Reverse Hook Up Warning dramatically reduces the risk of sparks or explosion # 2 / 6 / 10 Amps automatic battery charger allows you to choose between maintenance or high speed charge # Digital diagnostics monitors battery conditions, battery voltage and alternator conditions # Reverse polarity and short circuit protection for extra safety and durability
  9. There must be a maximum current rating as most seem to say "for up to 1600cc" etc. I've seen 2 amp, 4 amp, 6amp and 10amp chargers but they get very expensive.
  10. LOL I'll ignore that last comment! Well the battery is fairly new and I do usually try to start it up every few weeks but I've left it a bit too long this time and can't get another car to it to jump start it because of where it's parked. I tried the charger on another small battery and it was fine but blows the fuse every time on my big old Bosch. I could just buy another battery instead and use this one as a spare I suppose that way I'm covered all ways.
  11. Need to get myself a battery charger as the Z is always going flat sitting on the drive for months on end. I've borrowed a couple recently but the fuse immediately blows and I'm guessing it's down to the size of the huge Bosch battery I've got and it needing a high current to get it charged. Anyone else had this problem? Thinking of getting one form Halfords tomorrow but not sure if theirs are up to the job?
  12. Goose fat is great for roast tatties. Apparently LOL
  13. Chances are the garage will have already had a good try at shifting it so you might not find it so easy. I'm sure they thought of using WD40!
  14. Go into Control Panel and use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall as much as you can. It's probably got loads of junk you never use. Once you've done that, depending what version of Windows you are using there are various clean up tools in Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools. Disk Cleanup will get rid of temporary files and other stuff and then finally run Disk Defragmenter to re-organise the drive and speed it up a bit. After that it probably needs a full wipe and re-install but by the time you've put all the stuff you use back on it may well end up the same. Software has advanced a long way in it's requirements so it may just be time for a faster PC.
  15. Certainly doesn't sound right but the stock boost gauge is not very accurate. Saying that it should give you a decent shove if it's showing 13 to 14psi which is not standard! Sounds like something else is wrong to me.
  16. PPS fitted mine in the same way as Mac's and then blended the paint over it and it's never moved in the last 5 years or so. It's had people using it as a handle to open the boot on many occasions with no problems :mac1:
  17. and comes in a horrid blue with wheels that don't match by the look of that pic :hurl:
  18. I think I was quite lucky and actually got most of my own car back! The RaceLogic traction control unit came back dead so I have a feeling it might have been swapped and the new PCV's I'd fitted had miraculously aged 10 years. The owner of a local garage I use has a Z and when he was last underneath my car he asked who the hell had been working on it as he'd had to use all his spare nuts and bolts fastening stuff back in place LOL After that I went over it all myself one weekend as I was a bit worried a wheel might come off.
  19. That was probably a one-off custom model made with parts stolen from all the other Skylines that spent the last years of their life there :x: :nana2: :nana2: :nana2:
  20. Go to a Scottish chippy and ask for fish and chips and they give you a funny look. It's a fish supper up there. WTF? it's only lunch time, sorry dinner time, errr I mean tea time... doh I don't know any more! LOL
  21. Welcome and goodbye! 5 weeks of Z ownership is that a record? LOL
  22. AVI is a movie and GIF is a static image so can't really be done. Animated GIF's are different and just made up of a few images strung together.
