  1. Yes as Andy and Dave have said the only difference between a Blitz/Mines/etc ECU and a stock Nissan one is the map on the ROM chip and a fancy sticker on the box. If you erase it and re-map it then you've made the ECU you paid lots for pretty worthless. Personally if I had one I'd sell it for good money then get a standard ECU and re-map it. I have mapped over 100 ECU's with various maps and the Blitz and Mines ones I tested didn't seem that good - they are set up for Japanese cars and fuel after all. The best ones I've found and stuck with are JWT for a fairly safe and conservative upgrade or for maximum performance the old SE Nissan maps.
  2. Maybe he's the office t**t and they just left him there  Getting stuck in a lift is hardly traumatic FFS if he'd come moaning to me about his "life changing ordeal" I'd have sacked the big fairy anyway! LOL
  3. Fairly sure it was steel and the quality in the flesh is sooo much better than the fibreglass ones we get here. It was actually commisioned by Nissan to be a special edition Z but they pulled out of the US market and discontinued development I heard. http://www.strosek.de/ I didn't know Paul Bailey was still in the bodywork business. I tried to get some of the last bits of kit from him before he closed down and in the end had to get some of it from Z Centre.
  4. Genuine Strosek from Germany was steel and cost thousands. Paul Bailey copied it in fibreglass and then others copied that. The whole rear end of my car is basically the zenon kit from Z Centre.
  5. B&B exhausts? Awesome sound but haven't heard of them in years.
  6. I think I'd go dump all my rubbish outside council offices for the next 6 months until they rethink their policy. Makes a change from making money out of drivers I suppose.
  7. I think it's so you can rate people on their advice and helpful comments etc. Seen it on a few other forums.
  8. Probably, as will overtightening the belts.
  9. The old ones are the best as they say.... Maybe not I've never lived this one down! LOL TW@TS
  10. There's: Unipart HUNTINGTON SERVICE STATION NORTH MOOR ROAD HUNTINGTON, YORK NORTH YORKSHIRE, YO32 9QN Tel: 01904 768808 or Andrew Page UNIT 6 RAYLOR CENTRE JAMES STREET YORK YO10 3DW TEL: 01904 414466 I use the Harrogate branches of both of these and the prices are always good as they mainly deal with the trade.
  11. Providing you have a spare memory slot then you just plug it in and switch on. Most laptops have 2 slots with 1 memory module already installed.
  12. Yes but if you buy a 600bhp chip off eBay you don't need to worry about all that rubbish ;)
  13. LMAO! That brings back a few mammaries... sorry memories! I told Mrs Mac to get off the fresh paintwork but she wouldn't listen LOL
  14. Where in North Yorkshire are you? Halfords battery prices are ridiculous but it is a big battery in a Z so will be more than for your average car. I know a couple of cheap places in the Harrogate area if you're anywhere near. Good advice from Danny I'd forgotten about that and nearly had to buy a battery at the weekend.
  15. I know but if you include the fuel for the round trip to Silverstone to collect it it's cost me nearly £700 before I even paint it!! LOL  Told my girlfriend it was £200 and she thought I was stupid paying that as "it looks just the same as the old one - it's just a bonnet" I'm really happy with the way the car looks now and the only other change I'll be making is to fit my black fog light ducts.
  16. HKS are some serious money though unless you can find some second hand
  17. Bloody expensive bonnet! It was one of those purchases that you have to lie to friends and family about LMAO  Well worth it though and pretty unique.
  18. Think I've seen it done with apexi's but can't remember who right now. Can you not rotate the BOV's into a better position if you slacken them off? I seem to remember moving mine a bit when fitting a big oil cooler.
  19. PMSL  Got to admire those tactics! Boy could I do with £50K right now!
  20. I do love the stock front end on a white Z with the bar that runs across the front painted black and with smoked lenses. Probably the best (almost) stock look there is.
  21. Relocate the BOV's to hard pipes in the engine bay :)
  22. Do a search ;) It will either be: Aftermarket steering wheel mounted on a non-HICAS boss. Faulty speed sensor on the side of the gearbox. Faulty/incorrect type/incorrectly wired speed converter if it's an import. Chris.
  23. Didn't think you'd be into Cruzin Si! Wouldn't have thought it was too tricky to do this. I was always going to do what Mac did and take the control panel out of the stock wheel and mount it into the centre console near the mirror controls. It's not on the wheel but still dead easy to operate and looks stock if done neatly. In the end I decided to rip it all out when I took all the other non-essential stuff out the car to make it lighter and less complicated.
  24. Yeah you might be right there I suppose. You wouldn't want to meet that gorgeous lot in a dark alley LOL Reminded me of The Elephant Man - fantastic movie :)
