  1. I've been doing that for about 5 years out of the 8 I've owned it    It's like having a big silver sculpture out the front of the house :D
  2. There was a post on this yesterday and loads over the years. Try a search ;)
  3. The setting will be different on every car due to the state of the engine, turbo's, air leaks etc so you can't really go on other peoples settings. Set is the percentage of maximum boost so adjust it until you reach the desired pressure. Gain is how quick the boost rises. The higher the figure the more kick in the back you'll get but at risk of spiking over your max pressure. I always liked to keep the gain quite high for the thrust oooerrr but if you keep hitting your limiter value and it has been set to cut too far back you get a surging sensation. I've got the SBC-ID and Power Meter on mine.
  4. Those clear sidelight replacement lenses have another bulb socket in them that can be used to relocate the sidelight from the fog light on Jap spec cars. I think UK cars have a different sidelight arrangement. This is what you should have: http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21_22_26&products_id=243 Maybe you can buy those special indicator/sidelight units on their own from Z Centre? Give Luke a call and see what he can do. I'm sure it's easy enough to cut into the bumper and fit them if it's the same shape. Have you just got indicators in there now??? Can only just see something in the scoops on your pic.
  5. I get loads of colds and had flu a couple of times but apart from that not a lot else and I just put up with stuff. Only ever been to the docs for a bad back and tonsilitis years ago LOL
  6. Happy birthday! :D
  7. Didn't you move the sidelights into your clear indicators? That's what I'll be doing when I fit my foglight ducts soon. Suppose it's all down to how thorough the MOT station is? I'm sure you have to have sidelights for MOT. Another issue is the fact that main beam goes off before full beam comes on. I think that is officially a failure but it's the way the Z was designed. Is that different on UK cars? It's been discussed before if you do a search but I presume the reason Tony's failed is for lack of sidelights.
  8. I've always been happy with my doctor. But then the last time I went to see him was about 15 years ago!
  9. There are a couple of different copies of the Veilside that don't have the original sidelight/fog and/or indicator holes. You will have to add a set of sidelights somehow to get it through the MOT.
  10. I've used them a few times and always been a great price and delivered within a couple of days.
  11. Same as the R32 aren't they? Never seen bent arms like that before but they are obviously meant to be like that - you could never bend them in that way by accident on both sides. Changed mine recently and they were definately the straight variety that I removed.
  12. Does that make sense to anyone else? :D
  13. Could do with knowing exactly which rod it was. Front tension rod? It's the only rod you'd call a rod? LOL and if it's the front you'd really notice a problem through the steering wheel. Easy enough to check it's got all the bolts back in and tight if you jack the front end up. If it comes loose it could be nasty so be careful. Wouldn't think a bent track rod would give you a judder/wobble. Check the wheel bolts are tight for a start as it could be something stupid as that.
  14. Yep that's the one :)
  15. The clutch fork is held in by a spring and it might well have come off when you put the box back in? If it's not moving though that sounds like it's seated OK? You might be able to move the fork if you get your foot on it and push hard? Not sure just how stiff it is but if it moves OK then it must be right.
  16. I seem to remember 296 from my VIN too :)
  17. I thought you had a paint and interior chart on your site but couldn't find it when I looked. I wouldn't get Halfords to mix it though, it's about £15 for a very small tin! Sure it was their standard Nissan Silver though which doesn't cost too much.
  18. I love it :D Looks a bit meaner than the current 350 front end. It's not really a different Z it's just an upgrade to the 350 that's been on a diet and with a bigger engine.
  19. That Z of yours seems to have found a new owner 4 houses up from me! Keep seeing it at weekends parked in the road. Those cute puppies will be a real handful soon LOL
  20. I can't remember the code off the top of my head but i'm pretty sure it's just "Nissan Silver" on Halfords paint charts if that helps you trace it. I went to get a can made up and after matching various samples on the car it turned out to be one they had on the shelf for the other Nissan models around that year.
  21. Sounds like an alarm or immobiliser problem to me.
  22. Get a can of PlusGas if you haven't tried it yet. Much better than all the other penetrating oils and WD40 that don't seem to do much.
