Wastegates?
Well I was running 16 to 17psi on stock turbos with hardly any detonation before I had to replace the engine due to the bottom end bearings going! This is a different engine however so things will be different I suppose and I'll have to check all is well before starting to up the boost again.

Wastegates?
As a T28 will presumably be putting more air through at 7psi than a stock turbo is this OK? I've been told that I'll have to run them at lower boost than I was with stock turbos to avoid blowing things until I get some 555's in...? Thanks for the help, learn't a lot about a boring gadget that usually just does it's job in the depths... LOL

Wastegates?
hhhhmmmm sounds like I'm going to have problems if they need setting up as I have no vacuum pump :( and how open is fully open?!

Wastegates?
I've got the brackets and in fact have 1 actuator that looks to be adjustable on the arm. I have no idea what spring will be fitted but I know it's from SE. I presume I had best replace them as a pair really...

Wastegates?
I need a pair of wastegate actuators for the T28 hybrids I'm fitting. Where can I get them quick and what pressure should they work at to give something similar to safety boost when my controller is switched off? How do they work? Do they open progressively or just snap fully open at a preset pressure?

De-catted and boost leak fixed
LOL good to see some more mods going on to do that bodywork justice :D Must be the hot weather getting to you ;)

Permanent Live????
I bought the air horn kit from Halfords and it comes with a fused harness to wire it straight to the battery. I just used the wire from the stock horn to trigger it - saved messing about finding where the horn wiring comes from.

turbo hose replacement
Those hoses are very difficult to get out with the engine in but they can be done. I think you will have to get a second hand one.

Can anyone...
Oh yessssssssss! :D Jay you have exceptional taste but I've already ordered that one mate ;)

What RPM do you hit peak boost at?
I don't know how you do it on Apexi stuff but on the Blitz controllers you set the maximum boost and a "gain" figure. The gain affects how fast the boost builds up - too low and the boost builds slow and smooth, too high and it can cause overboosting too quickly. Increasing it on my stock turbos made a huge difference and made the car get on full boost much earlier.

Pedal adjustment
Reading the instructions on a set of aftermarket pedals the other day and it said legally there must be 50mm between them. The pedals bolt to the bulkhead and under the stearing column area for support. I've just fitted mine during my manual conversion. I didn't mess with the accellerator though. There's nothing to adjust so I'd say you either have a different pedal or wrongly fitted aftermarket pedal trims!

Radio ariel.
LOL Looks like you beat me to it Paul, I must type faster in future!

Radio ariel.
Yes you can buy an adapter - my Z had one already fitted so I don't know where from :( The other option is to cut the old one off, go to Maplin or a car audio shop, buy a UK plug and fit it instead. Will only be a couple of quid that way.

My Alpine unit came with a credit card type tool that you push in to remove it

Pedal adjustment
There's no adjustment - they just bolt in position. Do you have very big feet? Oooerr! :o

Clifford AvantGuard 4?
I spoke to Bob Safe & Sound and he told me £999 fitted in 3 days. A place in Leeds I sometimes use wanted £1100+VAT = £1300! and a weeks fitting :o Does look good but makes me wonder how many of the features they would actually connect up? Do you get all the options listed working or is it down to the installer? Seems to be the ultimate though, just concerned it's not officially Cat1 because of the remote start etc?

Can't start won't start
LOL I will have to prove my un-campness at next years Billing :o My teapots are of the highest quality and are installed in your kitchen with the greatest of care ;) Didn't I tell you it couldn't be a faulty teabag? :D Chris.

Clifford AvantGuard 4?
Anybody got one? I'm thinking of getting one as getting worried about my security at the moment with a few problems at home shall we say... :( Where's the cheapest place to buy?

Gear stick wobble!!!!
The only mounts that hold it all in are the 2 big engine mounts and the rear transmission mount. They are not cheap either! Engine mounts $93 each Transmission mount $79 I dread to think how much Nissan UK want for them. http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CP&Category_Code=Z32-MTR-MNTS I found one of my engine mounts was completely ripped off when I took the engine out! After reading up on some poly uprated versions and the Nismo ones it seems the Z is notorious for destroying mounts. First I'd heard though.

Gear stick wobble!!!!
It's probably the 2 plastic bushes that have worn on the linkage of the lever and the gearchange mechanism. You can get to them fairly easy from underneath and I think they are only a couple of squids from Nissan. There's also a big rubber transmission mount that might be worn but is unlikely to come loose and would be more noticeable as the gearbox shunting back and forth when you accelerate/decelerate.

Massive boost leak??
Don't forget that the pipes from the intake to the turbo are not usually under pressure - they are just sucking the air in from the filter so pressurising it might leak air but under normal conditions this probably would not happen! You might be tracing a fault that isn't really there. If there is a leak on the outlet from the turbo towards the intercoolers then your boost will be down but you can't tell until it is all sealed from the air filter.
-
Massive boost leak??
No you don't need to to check UP TO the turbo but you might if you have a leak AFTER the turbo going back up and down to the intercoolers... It all depends where the leak is I suppose...
