  1. That's a series 1 Series 1 was a bluish display (like yours). Series 2 is bright green. I'm sure Racelogic who are the importers would be able to confirm from a model/serial number.

Good job I can read Japanese then ;) Here's the top section of the page: Hi-Power Control Unit Latent efficiency of the advanced engine which is controlled is pulled out without impairing quality and durability, IMPUL computer tuning. Fine tuning starts from here. Features: Max. Increase of power Medium speed with torque rise of framework, substantial improvement of drivability Speed cancellation of limiter Enlargement of (something!) Boost rise of pressure (turbo car) Engine rationalization of the ignition timing which responds to rpm Engine improvement of response Improvement of fuel economy Rationalization of fuel oil consumption LOL

Impul can be found here: http://www.impul.co.jp/ Looks like you got a nice bit of kit worth over £800! http://www.impul.co.jp/products/parts/p-cntr.htm It may be that your Z had a boost controller fitted at some time and it got removed when it was sold...
  4. I would just buy a new lighter/plunger as it must be worn/corroded. I presume they are still available as a fairly standard part from Nissan. If it's getting 12V fed to it (which it is) then it should be hot - nothing complicated about it really.
  5. Sounds like the clutch release bearings or something but it could be the box I suppose.

The dial is for the diagnostic mode etc. If you have a nice chipped ECU then you probably have increased boost too! What does it read to on the gauge when you boot it?
  7. My Z never came with the original units but I'm pretty sure you got a separate tape and single CD player in the dash. Sounds like yours was added afterwards.
  8. Well Tooley's Z was in the N-Trance video "Forever" so you should be able to download that from somewhere if you do a search...
  9. On the ECU!
  10. Sitting in a Merc would send me to sleep too
  11. Usually but not on this occasion ;) Get to it Andy lol
  12.     That's one cool vid ;) Is there a Directors Cut coming out later?
  13. Anyone know of any info on fitting 555's and plenum removal etc? Chris.
  14. I'll be eating them for you at about 9.30am at home mate :D

There are 2 horns on a Z. If you look at the sides of the "mouth" in the front spoiler there's one on each side. I had a problem with mine too - one made a squeeky buzzing noise and the other was dead. Both were full of mud from years of spray getting in there. I just removed them and bought a set of air horns from Halfords for £15. You just connect them to one of the stock wires. I can now scare old ladies from half a mile! Chris.
  16. No there's just the big booster that goes on the pedal. It then goes through the bulkhead onto the master cylinder. There are 2 vacuum tanks in the wing area that give some assistance when the engine is on boost though.
  17. The final option is definately the best but have you thought of welding them to your current wheels for massive transit van style grip?

Good luck mate, let me know if the bridesmaid is any good ;) This deserves a few banana's:
  19. Be careful, I've heard tailgating is dangerous... Can't you just put the new hatch on the Z and put the old one in a nearby tip? Depends what you are doing with the old one. I did this with mine and it only takes 15 mins to swap the hatch. Although you might feel like a plonker with a silver Z and black hatch as I did! LOL
  20. Happy birthday mate! How about a re-spray in silver to celebrate? :D
  21. I think the Greddy E-Manage can handle extra injectors too and that's not a bad price if you wan't to upgrade all sorts of features in one go.
  22. Greddy do an injector controller: http://www.overboost.com/obs/product.asp?pid=402 but for another $100 you can buy a set of 555's!
  23. Hey Jaz, looking good! I saw your Z when it was in bits and the arches were just going on ;) I nearly went for a colour change to yellow myself mate. We could do with some close-ups of the arches as I don't know of anyone else who has that type? I think they look great. Chris.
  24. The cover should just fall off - there's nothing to hold it once the 3 or 4 bolts are taken out...
