Have a look at AndyZ's section in the Traders forum here. He can supply almost anything you need.
  2. I have most of Smithy's stuff on my car and it's all fitted perfectly in a few minutes. The only thing I had a problem with was the top rad hose and that's because after ordering Smithy's kit, I bought a Howe rad which is thicker and has different size necks on it. I had to spend quite a few hours getting it to fit/refilling the rad etc but that's to be expected when you fit none standard parts. If I'd booked it into a garage to have it done I would have expected a very large bill for fitting a small shiney pipe
  3. Like this ;) Yes it was custom made by PPS.
  4. Is it going to be ready? :D
  5. I thought you could use a fairly standard Momo type boss if you don't need the Hicas. If not, I got my HICAS one from http://www.takakaira.com but they do lots of different ones depending on what you want. There's some superb stuff on that site you might NEED to order too! LOL
  6. Cost of making a pigs ear of the job - Priceless... ;)
  7. Yes thanks guys. It made winning 15% better! :D  Did JAE give out prizes this year and does anyone know who won what?
  8. Is it not the same system F1 cars use? It's like an air/hydraulic ram rod that comes out under the car and pushes it up. Nothing to do with the suspension. Try fitting a couple of electric aerials upside down under the car ;) :D
  9. Have a look in the Events section. Not sure if it's been posted up there but I will probably be going and I know Mac1 is going minus car. Chris.

How complicated is that?! :mac1: No wonder the DVLA couldn't tell me if my car was a H or J reg!
  11. Or the one that is actually on OUR site! LOL Top right - Click FAQ's then Interactive Manual ;) http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi
  12. Yes but have you had any luck with the AFC? I really wish Macca hadn't started those Gay Spaceship rumours  Cheers Chris.
  13. I got a 2 tonne engine crane with a free engine stand from Exchange & Mart for £200 I think. Very good quality too. It's standing on my drive doing nothing right now ;) Been trying to decide if I should sell it but I know what will happen if I do! You can hire it for a very small charge LOL Chris.
  14. Hi Dave, I've just installed one of these myself and had it set up by Thor at Billing. Very nice piece of kit but very tricky to work out how to configure it. The instructions are a nightmare and there are no simple explanation of any of the technical options. You can download the manual from the U.S Apexi website (mine only came with Japanese instructions which meant it was fun installing it on the grass at Billing!) I haven't had time to set up the anti-stall features or the knock meter yet but it certainly did the trick as far as allowing someone like Thor to tweak it on the dyno. They adjusted mine and got about 70bhp improvement by getting the fueling right and being able to run more boost. It also allows you to run with 2 MAF's if you want by combining the signal for the ECU. I might have one of these spare as I ordered and payed for one from Chris@GetGreddy but unfortunately his delivery was late and I decided to get one at Billing so Thor could still setup and dyno my car. I told Chris I'd still have it as he ordered it specially and didn't want to back out on the deal. It might be worth asking Chris if he still has it so he could post it to you instead and you pay me.
  15. "We'll have a whale of a time in the pool"
  16. No need to get in estate about it :slap:
  17. "So you like my wide arse conversion then?"

Blitz progressive springs. Lower more at the rear than the front ;)
  19. Think so mate. I was at the front with the wide arse, round lights, big wing.
  20. LOL That's the Thor wizard playing tunes with my engine :D Thanks Tooley, it's the back end of Johnny's green beast that got me modifying my Z (and into debt!) LOL I copied his back end, Andy Elephant(!)s style of side skirts/scoops and the front from the White Light Z on Turbo Magazine's site. I almost went for the Veilside Supra wing that Paul and Andy Elephant had but couldn't find a copy at a reasonable price. Silver is the best colour though :D
  21. It was just those 2 fans on their own. We were all saying there should be at least 3 fans as on a Z you can't get a good blast of air at the rad and 2 intercoolers with just 2 fans. It was scorching hot on saturday but luckily by sunday it was much cooler. I'll definately be interested in your new gadget JD ;)
  22. LOL! I order them in bags of 20 so they must think there's a lot of welders working at my place :D
  23. Wish I had a video of it running flat out :hyper:
  24. Is the VTC point just a single value in the ECU? If so I can easily change it. I was really impressed with the Zemulator that Lymon used. I was tempted to get one before but when I saw him adjusting the fueling and timing in real time it makes me think I just have to have one. You can tweak things and hear the engine change and run better without having to write a chip with guessed values and go try it, only to find it's worse than before. I've got the S-AFC II installed so Thor were able to adjust the fueling in the car and made big improvements on the dyno. These adjustments can easily be incorporated into the chip and the controller reset to zero values so the chip becomes more accurately mapped every time. With Lymon sorting out the general running problems and Thor adjusting it for power, it made a huge difference. I drove away with about 70bhp more than when I arrived! I also learned from both Peter R and Lymon that a twin pop is almost impossible to map accurately with a single MAF at low revs because the voltage is so low you can't make small enough changes to the other settings. They both said it will always be lumpy at idle and the only way to eliminate it is to use the S-AFC and 2 MAF's. Chris.
