Its fairly cheap and easy to get 400 to 500bhp out of the standard engine so not many people replace them. N/A engines will probably be more reliable in the long run but much harder to tune to anything like that power. There's lots of cars in Japan and the U.S claiming 800bhp+
  2. And while you're at it, get a £15K loan!
  3. No I think the moral of the story is get some more information from the guy and wait until someone posts who knows what they are on about before scaring the guy to death! "Sounds very expensive but I don't have a clue" is not very encouraging! I can't see it being a head gasket problem (pretty rare on these cars) and could just be a major oil leak (hopefully that hasn't damaged anything). Did it overheat? Chris.

I'll be going and the Z should be back by then :) Forgot it was coming up so quick and missed this thread
  5. I thought you took that 2 years running? and who is this Duffer anyway? I do vaguely remember the name! LOL
  6. Mark, I've got the same setup. Just order the TomTom GPS unit on it's own off eBay (it's about the best you can get, you know it's compatable and only a few quid more than the cheap plasticky ones) then get a copy of the software ;)
  7. Me too! ;) Although I already had an O2 XDA II. Do you know how you can update the maps? I just keep finding downloads on Kazaa etc and seeing if it's a newer version but no look so far. I took a big diversion the other week due to my map being a year or so out of date :(
  8.   Maybe he should do the next Mastercard ad! PRICELESS!
  9. There was one of these at the Mascrat Manor meet a couple of months back. Very nice looking car but not sure I'd buy one.
  10. Do what me and Mac did and take the standard tow eye off then get a replacement racing one from Demon Tweeks that you can mount underneath ;)
  11. Can't believe it will give you any EXTRA power but it might well restore it a bit towards how it left the factory. They can certainly make things run a bit smoother by cureing minor electrical problems but I wouldn't call it a performance upgrade.
  12. I agree with chunk, he knows more than just where to buy a good pie :D Not sure about his own taste in paint jobs though
  13. What do you mean delivered? Can't you see it's installed in the red beast? :D
  14. Not the best advice i've ever heard! :nono:
  15. OMG! :D  :nana2:
  16. Not sure about that then. Mine are R34 V-Spec front calipers and I just used the standard skyline bolts that the guy gave me off his car. They are longer than the Z bolts.
  17. Is the handbrake system not affected then? I've never looked at it in great detail.
  18. Can you mount those rear calipers easily on a Z? Never seen it done before... The only bolts you need to mount the front ones are the original Skyline bolts which are a bit longer - there's no drilling to do on the front, they just go straight on ;)
  19. Congratulations! Prepare to sell the Z
  20. I can't make it
  21. BUT... Has anyone actually broken their fibreglass one? I don't know of any! They are very tough and you can buy 2 for the price of the Stillen which doesn't look as nice anyway! :D
  22. LOL says the man who's not had his Z for 2 years and hasn't been over 1500rpm :D
  23. Depends how much shopping you're loading in the back ;)
  24. Well I've got a mate with a Civic Type R and it kicks the ass of my Z off the line up to about 50 unless i do a stupid launch control start and that's with about 300bhp more than him!
