Yes but I deleted it without reading it as I do with all your messages :D ;) Not sure if I want to go now, seems like a waste of time all this thrashing around in powerful cars, getting pissed and pulling european girls and having to go through a night in Amsterdam.... :nana2:  :nana2:
  4. LMFAO  I'm saying nothing :D
  5. My import had one fitted when i bought it and it sounded great but it had rusted like i've never seen before. Holes everywhere. Don't know how long it had been on the car but it can't have been too long.
  6. Ferrets are even cheaper ;)
  7. So they're going on 40% transmission loss?! :o Might be accurate but that's more like the adjustment they make for a 4x4. Thor told me to go on 20% loss when they gave me my figures... If thats how we work it out i've hit my goal of 555bhp at the engine! Yeeehaaaa! :D
  8. That was just PaulG's wishful thinking! LOL Imagine how i felt handing that car over to the insurance inspector! Bet they had some good laughs in the bodyshop about that one.
  9. Looks like a whole edam cheese - better watch out when we get over to Holland at the weekend, they'll be wanting your head in quarters  If it comes cold you'll have flies ice skating on that :D
  10. Back to the top... There must be someone else wanting to come to this event at the weekend. Will cost at least double for the ticket at the last minute. Can't wait, this might just be the best Z meet ever :nana2:
  11. Sad springs to mind!
  12. Have to agree with all of that. I thought these daft new tyre rules could cause a lot of problems but never imagined something like that yesterday. I'm amazed there wasn't a riot after the spectators paid millions to watch that farce. Imagine how those guys felt after traveling across the U.S and internationally to see that pathetic show. One guy said he'd paid 2 months salary to get there and there was a guy interviewed from the UK who'd gone over to see it :( They should have done something to get the race running for the sake of the fans and F1 as a whole. They could have given the michelin teams other tyres and start them from the back of the grid or just run it with no points being awarded. Rules are rules but when they stop the event there's something wrong and they need to make changes quick. I think they've done a lot of damage to F1 and it was already getting pretty boring anyway. That new race series can't start soon enough!
  13. At the engine, including conversion errors, mine is 500bhp :D ;)
  14. I've got a pair of Apexi's as they seem to be best in tests but I've got a problem with them. They are great in the dry but on my car they are fitted low in the front and when they get sprayed with water they clog like a lump of blotting paper. The car won't even start when this happens and they take about 2 hours in the oven or a week in the sun to dry out. Tried to make a splash guard but its still not great. Wish I'd gone for a pair of Blitz ones instead as I wouldnt get this problem.
  15. Yeah I agree with all that and yes the caterham example was a bit crap LOL The biggest difference to the handling of my Z was fitting the wide arch kit. It's SO much better with the extra width.
  16. You can eat my hat as well to save me chewin LOL No way can you get 333bhp with just an exhaust and filter change in 31 degree heat. Something can't have been reading right. Was that at the wheels or engine?
  17. I was just saying most people don't bother going over 8.5" - there's no real point and just becomes harder to fit and costs a fortune in tyres etc. I've got 18x8.5"F 10"R on mine and i've never noticed a lack of grip at the front and I drive like a lunatic! You WILL get the effects I described as you get wider front wheels - not necessarily a massive amount just by going the extra inch but it's certainly more noticeable than on standard wheels. All the best handling sports cars have relatively narrow tyres - Lotus, Caterham etc etc. How many cars are there with front wheels that size? McLaren F1 (600BHP) = 9.0"F 11.5"R Ferrari Enzo (660BHP) = 9.0"F 13.0"R Koenigsegg CCR (806BHP) = 9.0"F 12.5"R How many of us Z owners need the kind of rubber that these cars need?! LOL If it's just for looks then I don't see the point either - you can't even see the fronts unlike a nice fat set of rears. And yes the link to my spec sheet has gone! Hoping for a fair bit more power now as the car is in getting forged internals fitted at long last :D
  18. Most people seem to go for 8.5" fronts at most. The wider you go at the front, the worse the steering becomes and you'll have a lot more problems with tramlining - following white lines on the road etc.
  19. If you have a fault with the airflow meter it won't let you rev over 2000rpm. Is that what's happening? Otherwise i'd check your spark plugs and all the coil pack connectors that sit above them. There's loads of things can cause this so have to try a few things and give us some more info. Where are you near Leeds? I'm from Leeds and work there so might be able to take a look if you get stuck. Chris.
  20. The hiss is normal on most cars. The Z has a fairly common problem with the filler neck rusting and petrol leaking out but i'm not sure you'd still get the hiss if that was the case. Have a look/feel up under the arch to see if you can find any holes/rust.
  21. You're not wrong. I was just about to post on this! LOL Basically: Only six cars are taking part in the US Grand Prix after the teams failed to resolve the Michelin tyre safety row. Twenty cars began the parade lap but only the non-Michelin teams - Ferrari, Jordan and Minardi - completed it and took their places on the starting grid. The other 14 withdrew to fans' cries of derision, and missiles were seen being thrown onto the Indianapolis track. The safety row began when Toyota's Ralf Schumacher's car crashed on Friday after a Michelin tyre blow-out. Michelin recommended their teams didn't race as there was a problem with the tyres on this circuit and due to the new rules the teams can't swap tyres so they're stuffed! Teams asked for a chicane to be put in on the bad corner to slow the cars but Ferrari wouldn't agree. So 6 cars set off! LOL What a firkin joke!
  22. My Z is still off the road and my mates have dropped out so i'm not even driving my Alfa over anymore. Hitching a lift with Chris Greddymeister. See the Kings of Europe thread for more info but this is one not to be missed. £70 to the first bidder! Chris.

ANYONE WANT MY FERRY BOOKING? My mates have dropped out so no point driving myself in my daily driver as the Z is off the road anyway. I'm hitching a lift with the very kind Mr Greddy so if anyone wants my ferry ticket it's £70. Chris.
