  1. Shiney red standard looking Z with targas off on the A59 at Green Hammerton driving towards the A1 away from York. I was passing the other way and didn't get time to flash :o
  2. Missed your call Steve, was it about this? I used a crowsfoot socket to get em off but they are sometimes VERY tight due to temperature etc.
  3. If they're really rounded off you can sometimes hammer a smaller socket size on and use that. Probably won't be able to use the socket after though so use an old one. Use a good penetrating oil first though - Plus Gas is about the best.
  4. Say no more ;) Well done mate, but thought you'd at least make it to the ladies semi's at Wimbledon
  5. It's a version 2 that goes with the Dual SBC-i-D boost controller. I've never really got this working in all the years I've had it. It's facing the boost controller for it's infra-red link and I've calibrated the speed and entered the weight of the car, tried adjusting the power loss value which I was told you don't really need to mess with. Problem is the power figure it displays is way out - it says I'm peaking at about 102bhp! LOL I presume from the way it works it out that this will be an at the wheels figure and the power loss +/- setting allows you to alter this? Any ideas?
  6. You should be looking for a Mk2 PTU not the Mk1, they are interchangeable and sooner or later the earlier one WILL fail on you, they all do. If you can get the old one for a few quid then fine but don't pay much for it mate.
  7. Tighten up all the water hoses - the extra heat at this time of year means the cars run hotter and build up more pressure to find the weakest points in the system. Check your water level regularly and keep an eye on that gauge to avoid doing any further damage ;)
  8. oooh! That's lovely that is!
  9. tw@t!
  10. I've had this problem a few times but there's sod all you can do about it other than report them and wait to be credited your fees. I've had UK registered buyers win items then mail me asking for it to be shipped to their daughter at university in Nigeria many a time :xxx: I did have one case where a newly registered user in Nigeria bought an item but shortly after eBay sent me a warning mail and cancelled his bid, so they are trying by the look of things.
  11. I love that "I couldn't afford the side skirts" look! :xxx: :xxx: :xxx: :xxx: :xxx: :xxx:
  12. How fast does it go mister? :smw:
  13. Yeah I might be wrong actually and it's 2 or 3 that's in the shops! I'm sure Dexron III is fine :)
  14. I'm sure it's meant to be Dexron 1 but I can only ever find Dexron 2 in the shops. I think the type 2 is an updated replacement with the same properties. A small 1/2L to 1L size bottle will be plenty, usually costs about £6 or something.
  15. Didn't you read it? LOL There's a few types of ATF and the recommended type is Dexron LOL Using any other could cause the seals/pipes to go I suspect.
  16. It's Dexron Type I or II ATF you can get from most garages etc.

Are they for when you spot those Belgian speed cameras? :x:
  18. There's not really anyone else who specialises in them but you might find odd bits. You'll find almost everything available for the Z at those places anyway. The only other stuff is special order from Japan if you're wanting something really different but they tend to be a bit whacky for the UK market :)
  19. Download an image viewer like this: http://www.irfanview.com/ You can resize and do all sorts of stuff and it doesn't take up much space.
  20. If he pee's on my tent he's in trouble!
  21. The PTU (Power Transistor Unit) is basically a hi-tech distributor and is about the most common fault on these cars. It was replaced with a series 2 unit they were that bad. It's fixed to the front left of the cam cover (opposite side to the CAS), just behind the radiator hard pipes. It's a small black box about 4" square with metal heat sink fins on it. Check the connections on it are clean but more than likely it's failed in the hot weather. If you have to buy a new one then make sure it's the series 2 type and don't get it from Nissan as they want about £400 :o Maybe someone local can pop over and try theirs...

  23. If you have problems then your box was already worn - look at how many standard ones fail every week. A lot of people say it actually improves the life of the box as there's less slip going into each gear and therefore less wear.
