I'll be travelling down friday lunch time and meeting some of you at the A59 Harrogate/York junction on the A1 :)
  2. My advice would be to get yourself along to the JAE Show this weekend and see which wheels look good on the hundred or so Z's attending. There's some stunning wheels available that look absolute pants when on the car!
  3. It already has them ;) LOL Manual conversion is very easy really, you just need a bit of harness from the manual car to swap and thats about it. Pedals are a pain to do under the dash but nothing complicated. Unbolt the brake pedal and swap it for the smaller manual one then fit the clutch pedal and booster etc on the firewall and bleed the clutch.
  4. Just thought... Is it definately losing water? The drain for the aircon condensation is around that area on the bulkhead and sometimes leaves a puddle which is quite normal.
  5. Yep sounds like the turbo water feed pipe. I think you can change it from under the car but could be wrong. If not it's an engine out job! The only other water lines around there are the 2 large heater pipes to the bulkhead at back/top/middle of the engine.
  6. I still don't understand how someone's brain can translate everything into txt spk and then get them to type it on a qwerty keyboard when it's against everything you've been tought in english and typing... Why use txt spk anyway when every phone now has predictive text?! Maybe it's to do with funding in schools and they're cutting costs by supplying the I.T departments with Nokia keypads instead
  7. I counted about 18 mistakes - quite impressive for such a short sentence  What do they teach them at school these days? :headvswal I wouldn't pay a subscription here either. Try one of the Skyline forums instead, they might understand you and have more information on differences between a standard Skyline and the GT-R
  8. So on your say-so he should have an engine rebuild even if he can't hear it and the noise hasn't been identified properly? Take it to an expert and see what they think.
  9. Just you wait until this weekend ;)
  10. Isn't that something gay farmers do? :o :x:  Who needs 'em anyway, I did 2000 miles before I noticed the muppets at GPS had lost one of my nuts!
  11. Strange whistling noises are a good sign of a boost leak - tighten it up. If there's not too much oil it's nothing to worry about.
  12. It doesn't though, the ambient sensor is placed there so the engine doesn't have any effect on it. I've thrashed my car in hot weather (and it's far from standard) and the ambient temp never moves. If yours is going up to 60 degrees there's something wrong with it unless you were driving across the surface of the sun at the time
  13. I loved my Alfa 156 V6 and will get the Sportwagon when I've got a bit more cash. Very nice car to drive, fab styling, leather, 200bhp and all the extras for sod all cash second hand. I got a 3 year old saloon version for £4200 - they're about £25K new!
  14. The ambient temp on your aircon has nothing to do with the coolant temp?? The sensor is out on the inside of the front bumper, nowhere near anything warm. If it's showing temperatures that high I'd say it's faulty or has a bad connection - when not working the aircon shows a high figure like you're getting. It's the water temp gauge you should be looking at...
  15. If it's an import it will have lap belts in the rear which rules out most car seats really. You can convert to 3 point UK style belts if you source the parts. The other problem is that on most Z's the front belts attach to the door (not the pillar as in most cars) so the only way to get a front car seat in is to put it on the seat, close the door and fasten the belts from the drivers side! This means you can't open the door once the seat is fixed in and is not a great idea for safety in the event of an accident.
  16. Congratulations to both of you, you're in for some fun now :D
  17. I remember a Brother printer driver error I once got: "Something went wrong. No idea what so have an error number: 65873422" Very helpful LOL
  18. Yeah but it sounds like it's written by some dumb web admin guy trying to look smart, who assumed the engineer could guess what part was needed from his poor attempt at a fault discription
  19. That's Mike Groves init?
  20. Twin Turbo, 25mpg on motorway, 5mpg round town and on the country roads flat out LOL 150 miles on a tank :o
  21. I think they are allowed to ask where it's from to prevent fraud and money laundering but that's about it.
  22. Here's another lovely pair:
  23. I'll show you some time
  24. ( o ) ( o ) Naah that pic was taken from space
