  1. There has been many times that ive nearly gave up on the car because of the problems i was coming across. Even a few members on the site offered to come help me. Shows you the true sprit of the Zed family. All i say is dont give up :) Now ive managed to save a bit of cash and buy most of the parts i need to carry on with the build im going to give it another crack and maybe call on the SOS team again
  2. I agree its taken alot out of me as im no expert and i wished i started a smaller project before say a Fiesta so i sort of new what im getting in to. If you have alot of spare time go for it mate. Depending how far you want to go just be prepared to end up doing and paying out more than you expected because once you get the bug you will get carried away like me. Thanks for all your kind comments ive got newer pics to update with but sorting though about 1500+ photos is a pain but ill keep an update now ive spent the day organising most of the pics in to folders on my computor.
  3. Ive tried that but it doesnt update on the heading only when you open the thread Cheers Dan
  4. How do i change the title on my build thread and add an **updated** Cheers Dan
  5. Thanks for all your nice comments everyone this rebuild has become a hell of a task and im learning as im going a long so its no easy task. Ive made many mistakes but from what ive learnt in the process i would do a lot of things differently but i guess its all part of the learning curve. Groover: The wiring has been a complete nightmare and ive still got more to do :(
  6. The work shop skimmed the heads and i got the head gaskets from the states but by the sounds of it i am worring over nothing as long as the heads wasnt skimmed that much. Happy days :) Thanks for your help everyone
  7. Yea basically the heads were skimmed and i was supplied with .45 cometic gaskets which i understand is standard thickness? The Garage that built the heads said they were only skimmed to a minimal amount so im guessing a nats cock? Not noticing the mistake untill the engine was built i contacted the supplier who said the thickness will be fine? This has been bugging me for a while and its not the first time ive questioned it on here, Ive had mix reviews on running the gasket but i also understand by running a stand alone ECU more tuning adjustments can be made to hopefully get around the det problem. Thanks Dan
  8. Hi all, As above how can i find out or estimate the compression ratio of my engine? Its going to be higher than standard because of the head gasket thickness ive got. I know the normal route these days is to go low comp but my build has ended up high comp along the way lol. Ive been told of a few pros and cons...but has anyone else gone this route before?
