  1. It was going swimmingly, I feel much more confident working on these cars now and it shouldn't take me too long to get it ready. I am at university at the moment so missing the car dearly, and a new interior coming in next spring so I should be able to finish it by summer. The amount of wiring that came out of that car was insane... In other news, Dad now has a TT Z, gone in for paint and I will be manual swapping that next year so he has a toy to play with now (though mostly me fixing it ffs ) How are your two cars coming on?

  3. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/used-car-buying-guides/used-car-buying-guide-nissan-300zx I was pleasantly surprised in how many accurate facts this writer was able to produce (however 'grey' imports are not a bad thing, they are really a good thing) And then I scroll down and see a familiar name, James Thomas. Good job on this fine article autocar.
  4. Ah, the rods really aren't that bad, compared to certain other jobs...
  5. You take this polishing very seriously, handles out!
  6. Hello stranger... :)
  7. You would be better off going with a pod filter. Either the Apexi/Z1pop charger kit, or you can get a MAF adapter (impreza ones are the same) and a generic pod filter. The stock intake is quite restrictive, taking the air from the wheel arches.
  8. Sure just please don't buy it with the intent of increasing horsepower. Other than the standard intake exhaust tune, it is incredibly hard to pull power out of them and it would be best to buy a TT in the first place. If you're happy with an NA where it is at and daily then sure, they are easier to work on, break less and can sound louder/throatier with an exhaust.
  9. Hi Alex, it is possible to get a tatty TT for that price depending on whats for sale at the time. It should get you a good condition na though.
  10. I don't think you mean he purchased Andrews zed.
  11. Come on spill the beans. Who was it.
  12. Dad's autobox (which is being manual swapped) the lockup solenoid is faulty so the torque converter slips always. it feels laggy and revs will go to 6 grand. Which is entertaining with the turbos and all, but it's very slushy down low.
  13. As I said to Russ, I have a transmission I can possibly pick up? Will need to know asap.
  14. Yeah wing past my 'shop' if you fancy. Wales convoy sounds good if I'm around
  15. They are £17 from the dealer. I have some spare stock though. Chuck me a fiver and I'll get one posted.
  16. Take a switched live from the interior, such as power from the cigarette lighter or radio
  17. I believe he's talking the bottom of the hose, and cutting the inner wing in the wheel arch.
  18. The ECU and bracket or the fuse box all unbolt and with enough fiddling you can get to it from the interior, might even be quicker than cutting your way through posing risk to electronics.
  19. I suppose you could, but do you really care about your car that little? You'd be cutting into the body loom harness.
