AIV removal
Iv not mate as was rushing to get home! If you look at the last pic on the link above it is from the tank at the top of the inner wing - it has a hose that goes down to the AIV unit & another hose that is routed through the inner wing where the vacuum line from the solenoid also runs. Curiously although the passenger side tank has an outlet it is blanked off & has no hose! I am guessing it is what feeds the AIV system with air?! Anyway - I will look further into it tomorrow

AIV removal
Sadly it doesnt! I have that doc but it doesnt show or list the main pipe to the air tank (in the last pic) on the drivers side for removal!

AIV removal
Hi, Am going to remove my AIV system & have the wings off so want to remove the whole lot including the upper tanks. I have seen all the removal instruction threads but on the drivers side tank is a larger diameter hose that dissapears through the inner wing & comes out somewhere under the brake servo - I can find no reference to this anywhere! Any ideas where it goes to? Not had a great deal of time to look as was at work & shutting up shop time! I know most people leave the tanks but if anyone knows would be grateful to know where it connects to! Paul

You could try using this stuff: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Forte-diff-gear-treatment-noisy-gearbox-stop-whine_W0QQitemZ350102974062QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item5183c36e6e I used to work for Forte & their products are quite good trade products. :thumbup1:

4wd
No - they wouldnt ever use it on a dragster as there is no point at all. A dragster doesnt ever go round a corner - 4WD is all about getting traction to the steered wheels. 4WD is completely irrelevant in a car that doesnt need to corner!! :tongue_smilie: Even top Lamborghinis have 4WD now! Whys that - cos it doesnt need it, does it?!
-
4wd
What a silly statement! Drag cars go in a straight line only - under hard accelleration weight is transferred to the rear. Top fuel drag cars have their front wheels hardly touching the ground for the whole 1/4 mile so 4WD would be a little pointless really - lets see one up against a GTR around a circuit shall we?!? F1 teams have dabbled in 4wd over the years - so by your understanding it cant be that bad a technology or they wouldnt have bothered, would they?? :smartass:

Trouble defrosting ??
Thats actually even worse for an engine - leaving it to idle right from cold! Much better just to get in & start driving!

4wd

some choice pickings from Failblog
LOL! Love the facebook one!!

Trouble defrosting ??
Thats it - probably a good mod to do for performance cars actually as most of the wear on the engine occours during the warm up phase! Could help prevent engine wear & keep your toes warm as soon as you get in your car LOL!

Trouble defrosting ??
Yea - its an electric heating element & pump that warms up & circulates the coolant while you eat your brekkie!! :thumbup1:

Yup, same one! had her nearly 8 years LOL!! It kinda developed to good old rust problem & took it off the road over a year ago. There it sat outside my work & I kept thinking how it wasnt economical to do it up & was going to break her  Then recently decided to stop thinking & just do what I really want to do! Fix her up & start enjoying the poor old girl! I really cant think what car I would enjoy more without spending more money than I have got LOL! Looking at getting the body work done first (am in the motor trade & mate has his own bodyshop). Leather bolsters have gone so looking at katskinz covers. Would like big brake upgrade & would mean a new set of wheels. Then I always promised myself a pair of JWT530's............ & on it goes!
