  2. Thanks bud - just hope its all worth it & not getting too carried away, spent £3000+ already on bit & pieces & still got all the bodywork to pay out on!! Ah well, hope it was all I remembered it to be!!
  3. Nah, its always like christmas in my house mate!! :santa: LOL! Cant go for 5 mins without buying something!!
  4. Some more time to work on my zed again today. Starter was making some nasty noises (sounded like a ring gear worn!) - removed & stripped & found the end plate loose causing the starter to flex & the gears not to mesh!! Rebuilt & re-fitted & alls good again!! :thumbup1: Removed the rear bumper & found another rust hole that needs plating LOL! Repaired my tailgate latch that was messing around. Car now wont start & getting a code 11 - guess I need a new CAS! Tried stripping & cleaning hoping I will have the same result as the starter but no such luck! Still - am getting my new engine on friday from Richard (trick82) so not too worried about the non start! :w00t:
  5. you say that like you are surprised!! :D :smartass:
  6. very nice! :thumbup1:
  7. you still need to use the microfilters on each socket even with this ;)
  8. Yup - thats what Im saying!! Basically what BT is saying is that all the wiring for the secondary sockets around you house act as an antenna picking up electrical interferance & slowing your broadband connection speed down. This is basically a filter that stops this interference regardless of which socket your router is plugged into.
  9. Bit like dynoing a car with teflon tyres I guess! LOL!!
  10. Mark - it doesnt matter where you plug the router in - my master socket isnt used at all for my router or a phone! Staff cars?! er - ok I guess?! Working on mine at work at the moment!! Will be glad to be back in my zed!
  11. Looks great tho not sure if its just the pictures but seems like hes running loads of neg camber front & rear to get the wheels tucked under the arches!! Wouldnt want his tyre bill!!! LOL!
  12. No bud - takes about 20 seconds! 2 screws off the front plate, the iplate sits between the back section & the front plate - push it all together & refit with the new supplied longer screws. Even a fireman could do it!!
  13. 5.7 meg now!! I could run these tests all day long!!
  14. Dont know bud - I would guess so but not 100% I only measured download speed TBH!
  15. Works with any ADSL line no matter who the broadband provider is - you just need a compatible socket for it to fit to (see the links) Its free to BT broadband customers but anyone can buy one - see dabs in my first post! Paul
  16. clicky for BT Broadband customers: http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=25075
  17. Go to BT's website - you can order it online! :thumbup1:
  18. Has anyone used one of these?! http://www.dabs.com/products/bt-iplate---bt-broadband-accelerator-58LT.html?q=BT%20Iplate%20%2F%20BT%20Broadband%20Accelerator My broadband is seriously slow at times (under 2meg connection when using online tests. Sometimes as low as 1 meg :crying: ) Anyway - ordered one of these (free if your a BT broadband customer - you just pay P&P charges of £1.20) Tested before fitting - 1.4meg  After fitting 2.8meg  It says to allow upto 48hrs for increase in speed. Just tested now - 5.5meg!!!!:thumbup1: Well surprised!! Just thought I would share! :)
  19. I presume you mean this: http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21_22_27&products_id=104 Just got one myself from Luke at Zed Centre :)
  20. Hiya, Theres a guy on ebay that sells repair panels (I bought one myself!) for £45: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/300ZX-Z32-REAR-WHEEL-ARCH-SILL-REPAIRS_W0QQitemZ230426603090QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item35a67eee52 plus whatever you can get a bodyshop to do the repairs for - I have a friend doing mine :)
  21. well the spare has never been a testable item in the 20 odd years I'v been testing LOL! ;) :wheelchair: It is however a legal requirement that if you do have one that it is in a roadworthy condition! Often MOT & legal requirements can differ!
  22. LOL!! A friend of mine is a VOSA inspector - am sure he would be interested in the testing stations that operate this way!! :devil2:
  23. The boot/tailgate should always be opened & inspected inside & tested to ensure it latches securely. Many testers do not test very strictly! I do & also ensure all my techs do! Not to be strict as such but it is simply the right way of doing things! :)
  24. To be honest - yes I would! VOSA dont mess around when it comes to shutting test stations down or terminating testers! I cant remember the last time I did have to refuse to test - but then I mainly work on newer vehicles in my dealership. Many (many! LOL) years ago I used to work in a smaller garage & did used to refuse to test when needed :smartass: Paul
