  2. The manual does state: Note: Some vehicles have lock stops comprising soft metal pads on the body for the front tyres to rub against. These are acceptable if they are properly maintained so that they do not damage the tyres. however a reason for rejection is: 1a. a component of the steering mechanism, road wheels or tyres fouling any part of the vehicle So if that vehicle did foul the vehicle then it should be a reason for rejection ;)
  3. IMO I would only buy a caliper designed to fit the original mounting points, but thats just me. If you could prove that the brackets were capable of withstanding the forces required including a large safety margin then fine - but that requires testing to prove! As it is these brackets are completely untested & the safety implications are unknown regardless of peoples opinions! :)
  4. The problem with anything like this is that the proof of the pudding is in the testing! Without being able to check the failure point & knowing what a full on breaking procedure in a zed is & the forces it can excert, the first time you will know if they are not safe is when one fails :ohmy: All people on here can do is give opinions & will provide great reasons for & against the possible safety implications of these brackets. Opinions will mean very little if one does fail! :angel: Just my thoughts!

As much as I like what Stu done to Silver Streak the body styling is not to my liking - I considered buying it also instead of doing mine up but would have to change it all!! I much prefer your yellow one looks wise! :bow: Mechanically Stu done so much to his/your car with some impressive mods :thumbup1: Both are great cars you have there!!

  10. I agree - Nokia has gone right downhill IMO in recent years. I dont like the slide out keyboard design either. The iphone is pure quality with some great free aps many of which are free!
  11. IMO either get the iphone 3gs now or wait until the Nexus One is released here in the UK. I like the ease of the iphone & as much as many people dont like it, most people that actually own one love it! I know I do! Googles Nexus One looks like the first serious contender however :)

  13. 7psi is safety boost & is common with a failed det sensor which will usually store code 34 when you do a ecu check. They are a PITA to replace & many decide to bypass it to get full boost again: http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/detonationSensor/detonationSensor.html You are obviously running the risk of the det sensor not picking up detonation but this is quite limited in how it operates anyway! Check for codes first ;)
  14. sounds like the ecu is picking up detonation from the det sensor 1 - make sure you only run decent super unleaded petrol, shell optimax is best 2 - check your base ignition timing 3 - if the problem still persists then back the boost off a little also - are you running a remapped chip?

  21. As said myself, I think the Nexus One looks a great phone & would be the only other phone I would consider. There is a very good reason all these phones get compared to & pitched as the next iphone beater! LOL! Quite a compliment to Apple I would say! I am just saying I have never had an issue with the phone side of things?! Works great in fact. & the "mouse" is the only reason I dont like the look of the Nexus - they are always crap & break on phones!! :thumbdown: I much prefer browsing just using touchscreen & I think I have read the Nexus doesnt support true multi touch in all apps?! I still think it looks a great phone with loads of potential! :thumbup:

  23. LOL! thats a little harsh IMO! Some people seem to hate the iphone but I think its a great gadget! The signal strength is faultless in my area, I have never knocked it on to silent & battery life is no worse than any other large screen phone! As a phone it makes & receives calls just fine!! :thumbup1:
