Pics of progress!
Hi Rob, I have bought 2 new outer sill panels from Nissan (no after market ones exist!) - around £160 each from memory. Will probably have to fabricate an L section to weld to the floor but that not too much bother compared to the rest of the job LOL!

core plug removal, where to buy and fitting
I agree - genuine parts are built to better specs & for something so cheap that is so important I would rather have something that I know is the absolute correct size!

Pics of progress!
Slow! Its still stuck on a ramp at work! My mate with the bodyshop was going to do some work in my workshop but now wants it over there. Hopefully will be getting it over soon so he can crack on with the welding! Just a pain relying on mates at times!! So sloooooooooooooow :wheelchair: Stripped it down at my place so I could save him the agro of tying his workshop up but hes always too busy to get over!!

Sorely tempted!!!!!
Maserati's are seriously overrated IMO! not the greatest of cars to drive & expensive to run & maintain. Have never seen them as a real "supercar" TBH. (unlike the zed!! LOL :D )

MOT and Spots
Any repair patches must be continuously seam welded for MOT purposes - spot welding is acceptable for a complete panel replacement if this was the original method of fixing

Engine rebuild fail....
sounds like a helicopter passing overhead!!

bigger injectors?
I used to run mine on boost jets - would peak at 16psi & drop to around 14psi - never had a det problem or dropping into safety boost. Also check your base timing to ensure this is correct & not too far advanced

Hicas Yes or No?
keep it ;)

mot/road tax question
You are allowed to drive to & from a testing station as long as the vehicle has been pre booked for a test. Obviously it is illegal to drive it on the road knowing it has defects still, so is all your tyres are bald for example then you should still not be driving it!! HTH :)

Does anyone know any companies that referb slit rims please
AFAIK Lepsons do a same day service by prior appointment, but they can only handle some types of split rims. We use them all the time & are very good: http://www.lepsons.com/home.phtml maybe too far for you however? Spit & polish is another company (in SE again) http://www.spitandpolish.co.uk/ or Pristine (in Milton Keynes): http://www.pristinealloywheels.co.uk/

tt to n/a
Turbo charging gives an increase in power by improving the efficiency of the engine - removing the turbos would probably worsen the fuel consumption! Why would you want to remove them?! Not a great idea as stated due to the low compression of a turbocharged engine!

dash warning light
HICAS is the 4 wheel steer system - most common is the power steering fluid is low, check & top up if required. Paul

Mercedes SLS
Around £150k which is a bargain compared to the SLR that it replaces!! :w00t:

Mercedes SLS
Yup - was up MK. It does look a whole lot better in the flesh - prob not a car I would want even if I could afford one! It is a great vehicle technically however! 7 speed twin clutch transaxle at the rear, engine up front with a 48/52 weight distribution front & rear connected with a carbon fibre torque tube. 560 odd bhp, 0-60 in 3.summink seconds. 200mph electronically limited top speed. Launch control, adjustable ESP settings. Just hope one of my customers buys one LOL!!

Mercedes SLS
Was up Mercedes head office today for a meeting & they had the new SLS up there :punk: :hyper: Had a look around & took some pictures that I thought I would share! :sorcerer: (not great as I only had my iphone!)

Not been around much lately
Hi Mike, Good to hear from you again, sounds like things are on the up! :) I went through a similar thing a few years back & was not a nice thing to go through. I left because I had not been happy for some time & its not an easy process to go through with the divorce, house etc. Things do improve & all of a sudden you will realise that things are for the best. I now have a lovely girlfriend with a new house & a much happier life :flowers: All the best, Paul

'Coooar, nice car mate!'
LOL! Its great getting comments & looks like that! :thumbup1: Just before I took my car off the road I drove to France for the day - as we were getting in the car a group of French guys were all staring at us (think my g/f thought they were staring at her LOL!), then all gathered around the car & started taking photos & looking inside!! G/F thought it was strange LOL!! Always got loads of looks & comments - the best ever was as I was just cruising around on a nice summers day, T tops off & music playing - stopped at a T junction & went to pull out & there was a proper "street" black guy that saw me, gave a big grin & literally done this to me in the middle of the road!! -> Will never forget that - made me chuckle seeing him!!

Where does everyone think I stand?
If it has gone this far then I personally would offer 50% of the deposit back. This would show you as offering a gesture of meeting half way. It gives the other person a get out card that they can save face also. This will end up as a stand off between the 2 of you & potentially could end up going to small claims court etc & dragging on & on. If he rejects the offer then any mediation on this case will not look good on his side & will show that you are making reasonable effort to resolve this. Just a thought! :balloon:

Your typical work day
My day at work (Merc garage) 8.00 - open the garage. 8.01-6.00 - mass mayhem as all customers booked in want their cars back by 10.00 even when they only got to our garage at 9.00. Tell reception staff that we cant get a whole days work done by lunch, staff agree but keep promising jobs for 10.00, 11 at a push. Meanwhile many customers turn up out of the blue wanting a "quick" diagnosis carrying out on why some warning light has come on or their engine/gearbox is going into limp mode. Mobilo breakdown service and/or AA, RAC etc like to turn up & drop off some more cars - god, where am I going to put them?! Forecourt is full & customers cant park - sales go mad as they are losing sales as no-one can get onto the forecourt. Ah yes, sales - all the salesmen want all the cars they sold going out on the same day, inspection, service, MOT etc - plus any problems sorted - "but I promised the customer they can have it tomorrow!". Meanwhile not content with this, Mercedes want me to attend a meeting to tell us new plans about training techniques coming - we are all getting a kind of sky box with a tellie to watch training vids during the day (fook knows how I'll find the time for that!). Sort out the problems of the day that people are having with customers cars while trade customers keep phoning asking for technical advise on problems that they have with Mercedes in their garage. Order parts, tools, oil etc for the workshop. Liase with MBUK on technical issues that we have. Update the diagnostic tools that keep messing about cos Merc brought out an update that fixed the last problems but introduced new ones. 6.01 - go home for a large drink! Prob missed out loads but you get the idea!! Has been a manic day today & was glad to get in!! Still, there are good points: At some point in the day will usually get to drive some nice motors!! :w00t:

Subtle bit of camber!!!!!!!!!
