Need a multimeter
Dont forget it could also be a drain when the car is switched off (or even wiring issues) ;)

Need a multimeter
trickle chargers exist cos there cheap LOL! I have just bought a charger at work that was just over a grand! A good battery charger will put as much amps in as possible to start with then tail off to a trickle charge at the end.

Need a multimeter
Which one? You looking at the top one? Look at the DCV range, you would select 20V which would give readings from 0-20V for testing :)

Need a multimeter
To be honest unless you want something decent then most of the cheaper end of the range are as good as each other. Something like this would be fine for most people: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DIGITAL-MULTIMETER-TESTER-CONTINUITY-BUZZER-19-RANGES-/180664919627?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Test_Measurement_Equipment_ET&hash=item2a1077e64b If you wanted something decent then look around for a second hand Fluke meter like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fluke-87-III-Mk3-True-RMS-Multimeter-/160599122752?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Test_Measurement_Equipment_ET&hash=item2564742340 HTH :)

kids just damaged my car
The parents have been very good & came round again with the boy to apologise. The real point is though if I hadnt have seen it then I would be out of pocket! How many other times has it happened with other peoples cars?! Like I said - just take them down the park! Thats what its there for! Oh well - will stand guard next time :gunsmilie:

kids just damaged my car
Bloody neighbours kid has just rode his bike into the front of my car :cursing: he had those stupid stunt pegs on the back that jammed into the intercooler vent at the front & scratched all the paintwork! I only saw him do it as I was up a tree on a ladder in my garden cutting it back - saw him bounce off it. We have a parking courtyard out the back & the kids are just constantly riding around - the mum said she keeps telling them not to get close to the cars - FFS, do a bit more than just telling them if you keep having to warn them! To be fair the dad has said he will pay for it but just get them down the park!! There is a purpose built one for the kids on our estate about 30 seconds away!! Rant over - back to the bodyshop LOL!

Failed the MOT. Gutted!!!!
The BET is the first step - it WILL fail this test, you then need to go on to do a vehicle specific test & as there is no Z32 in the database a non cat test needs to be carried out. This is the main point! :)

well i found my power steering fault
Nissan dont sell the bushes - you need complete arms however Nismo bushes are available which are uprated but still give movement. Or rose jointed tension rods to give free radial movement around the pivot while keeping ultra firm laterally!! (which I have ;) ) :smartass:
-
well i found my power steering fault
It is a known issue with poly bushes as there is not enough flex on the bush as the wheel moves up & down. This causes the metal to flex & eventually fail. Rather a nasty failure there!
-
well i found my power steering fault
out of interest have you got poly bushes on the tension arms?

Failed the MOT. Gutted!!!!
if you really wanted to see how they react tell them you wish to appeal ;) http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/repository/MOT%20test%20fees%20and%20appeals%20aPR%2010.pdf

Failed the MOT. Gutted!!!!
Exactly! See here for details: http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=27060 They have to find an exact match in the database or the vehicle is only subject to a non cat test The Z32 is not in there! That is why they have selected the 350z! incorrectly!

z's horn?
LOL! I think someone may notice if I stole them from a car!!
-
z's horn?
The standard horn has just a positive feed & earths through the body - many newer horns are plastic & have 2 terminals, a positive feed & an earth - you just need to make a wire with a terminal to the earth connector on the horn to a suitable ground point (where you bolt the horn up is fine) to complete the electrical circuit :)
-
z's horn?
Had a couple of - err - spares from work! :innocent: would fit pretty much any late model
-
z's horn?
Pretty much - had to relocate slightly as the nissan ones are flat & the Merc ones are a little more bulky - just needed to run an earth lead to the mount point & away you go!!
-
z's horn?
swapped mine with some Merc ones - much better now LOL!

Brown gunge in my radiator
Forte products are top trade quality products & better than you will find in Halfords - often available on ebay so worth a look. I generally use Wurth products now but used to sell Forte stuff years ago :)

Anybody after some cheap tools????

99spec spoiler mounting
Nice write up :) I would just add that when I done mine the bolts nearest the rear screen shown in the pictures in that write up pass through a double skin - when I installed mine I cut 2 access holes so the fixing bolts secure directly onto the outer skin otherwise over time the 2 skins may compress & the bolts loosen. Shameless excuse for a 99 spec rear end shot :D

anyone else tried to race a gtr the r35?
I think you are all on drugs - the R35 went round the ring like it was on rails & done the top gear track quicker than many supercars!! It would be nice to think that with an exhaust intake & boost increase we would keep up with the GTR but in reality I think we would be handed our asses on a plate LOL!
